OK OK

Wait...

There is a similar family tree root ball snarl in Neils family.....

Aunt Cheri is married to Uncle Ned...who used to be married to Cheris Aunt....

Thereby making Ned, Cheri's uncle and now her husband...

Yep...thats the same thing..... :crazy2: :faint:

And here...all this time...I thought only the McDougalds were weirdly inbred in a not incestual kind of way.... :scratchin

There are others.... :rotfl:  :faint:

Ok - more time to type...Here goes...DVC issues:

So in your honest DVC lovin' opinion...is there truly a difference buying resale versus buying direct? :confused3 And where do you buy?

I know about the 15% discount at SSR..but points would still be roughly $83.50/point. And then would have to convince DH to begin paperwork before 2/1/06. Would rather surprise him for Christmas while we are there...but not sure I could pull that off. Some SSR resales are cheaper than $83/point.

Cheaper still are many of the other resorts. Vero Beach being the least expensive. People say buy where you want to stay. But if we generally travel off-season, is the 11 vs. 7 month booking window that signigicant? Really see us using a few points for DL at least twice a year. And WDW maybe every other year. But would like to use the program to get to other places. Hilton Head being one place I have always wanted to go.

So...that is it in a nutshell. Do you buy the cheapest points or buy SSR at the discount and how much inventory of other resorts does DVC have...are they willing to even discuss that or do they just push SSR?

Do you have a contact at DVC I could talk to?

Thanks!!

Vero Beach is only the cheapest to buy on a per point basis. It has the most expensive annual dues. Saratoga and Boardwalk have the lowest annual dues right now. This of course is subject to change over time.

You have two choices. 1) Buy a new membership from Disney at SSR. 150 point minimum of course. You can get whatever marketing incentive is available. 2) Buy a resale membership at a discounted rate at one of the other resorts. Timeshare store is place to look to buy. OKW is probably the best on site resort because the rooms are so big. Boardwalk and BeachClub are great because of how close to the parks they are. SSR is huge and imho it is too big. Even though I own there, it is my last choice for accomodations. I prefer OKW and WLV.

You won't always go to Disney off season. I recommend buying where you want to stay as well. The 11 month booking window comes in handy when you want to stay during a busy season. When Ryan is older you might travel when school is out and that 11 month booking window means more.

One of the good things about DVC these days is that it keeps getting bigger. Rumor has it that there are going to be 3 new resorts within the next 5 years. If that is the case, the 11 month booking window becomes less important as members will flock to new locations and you can still stay at OKW or Boardwalk or others.

My favorite resort overall is Hilton Head, SC. It is DVC's little secret. It is right on the water and it is gorgeous. You can call my DVC sales guide at 1-800-821-7150. His name is Dave Kruetzer. He is one of the best and has been doing this a long time. Tell him that I recommended you to him. It doesnt get me a discount or anything but it will give him an idea of what information that you have already.

Check out the DVC boards here for more information. Especially the Rent/Trade boards. The ability to rent/trade has made DVC even better. If you cant use your points you can rent them to someone else. If you need more, you can rent them from someone. If you need an 11 month booking window somewhere, you can trade points with someone that owns there to get the 11 month booking window.

I would be happy to answer any ?'s that you have. Just Pm your number to me and I will call you to talk about it.

Tim

Bets, oh bets...how many times have I told you not to drive home from the bars and park on your lawn. Yes, I know its closer to the front door and all but darnit the neighbors don't appreciate it!

Tim: Thanks for all of the info. Glad you made it there safely. Ophie said traffic was no bueno. Must look at map...if you really think buy where you wanna stay is the way to be...I am thinking I gotsta be close to MK or Epcot. But I say that never having been there at all....so  I will call your guide dude next week. Maybe Disney currently has inventory other than SSR.?

It's raining here...I AM SO SICK OF THIS WEATHER!!! Can we see the :sunny: sunshine please..... :worship:
