Hairspray played here last year's Dallas Summer Musicals. I really like it as well. One of the girls in one of my soaps was the lead in it for awhile. She sings on the soap from time to time too - she's very good. Sounds like you had lotsa fun there Luckey.


HI EVERYONE ...okay, low 20's here today and sleeting. Still got out for awhile today though because Saralinda's "best friend"....(everyone is her best friend) ....had a birthday party today. Actually she is one of her better friends, and she is the granddaughter of my ipso facto mom away from mom type person, (Nelda was my mom's best friend, and has sorta taken over that role for me...think I have mentioned that before, sorry for the repeat of info) so we braved the weather to go. It was at a build a bear workshop place, and they all got a bear. Saralinda dressed hers as a bride. Then we went down the street to the Friday's and had her cake (the birthday girls mom didn't realize she could have the party there, but no cake or drinks) and socialized for awhile. And it's always great to see Nelda so....it was something to do.

NO LIKEY THE COLD!!! Tim made us a fire in the fireplace when we got home, and Saralinda is sitting on the hearth as we speak and we have on a Bug's Bunny movie on the TV.

I am still hoping that one of the resume's Tim has sent out around here will pan out, but in the meantime Bets, Tim would like to talk to you about trying to find an affordable apartment in Boynton, or someone close to Boca, if you wouldn't mind giving him some input.

Hey all. Just checking in before my bubble bath.

It's been too cold to venture out today. Although we did manage a few minutes of blue sky.

Made me a cinnamon dolce latte at home this morning pretty good too. Let's see saving $3.50 per coffee. Med cruise = a lot of coffee!!
I figure if I can resist the urge to stop at Starbucks the next 2200 times - and put that money in a bank account...I can go on my med cruise!!

Been looking at traveling in Japan. Um...looks complicated. I can't even read the websites!! I'm never gonna figure out what they are trying to say. Better find me a travel agent who knows what I am talking about. Figure I can find one in San Jose, no problem!

Pokemon eh Cheri? I got I spy spooky mansion. Even baked cookies. Now just gotta not eat them all. Tomorrow, I swear, I am really gonna go all the way out into the garage and plug that darned treadmill in. Might actually even get on it.

Adopting new kitten to keep last adopted kitten from chewing on us all. Pick him up on Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed it works. Just may have two kittens chewing on us. Boy, that would really suck.

OK - gonna go look up a roasted chicken recipe for tomorrow night. Bets- do share the mac n cheese recipe. I am always looking for a good one!!

Johnna - Here is the recipe...I make the entire recipe and divide it between 2 dishes...freeze one. We ate the first dish the other night and the 2nd one will be for dinner this week sometime. Also..I use Pecorino...I like it better than the smokey Gruyere.

Serves 12
You can easily divide this recipe in half: Use a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.


8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, plus more for dish

6 slices good white bread, crusts removed, torn into 1/4- to 1/2-inch pieces

5 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste

4 1/2 cups grated sharp white cheddar cheese(about 18 ounces)

2 cups grated Gruyère cheese(about 8 ounces) or 1 1/4 cups grated Pecorino Romano cheese (about 5 ounces)

1 pound elbow macaroni

1. Heat oven to 375°. Butter a 3-quart casserole dish; set aside. Place bread in a medium bowl. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Pour butter into bowl with bread, and toss. Set breadcrumbs aside.

2. In a medium saucepan set over medium heat, heat milk. Melt remaining 6 tablespoons butter in a high-sided skillet over medium heat. When butter bubbles, add flour. Cook, whisking, 1 minute.

3. While whisking, slowly pour in hot milk. Continue cooking, whisking constantly, until the mixture bubbles and becomes thick.

4. Remove pan from heat. Stir in salt, nutmeg, black pepper, cayenne pepper, 3 cups cheddar cheese, and 1 1/2 cups Gruyère or 1 cup Pecorino Romano; set cheese sauce aside.

5. Fill a large saucepan with water; bring to a boil. Add macaroni; cook 2 to 3 minutes less than manufacturer's directions, until the outside of pasta is cooked and the inside is underdone. (Different brands of macaroni cook at different rates; be sure to read the instructions.) Transfer macaroni to a colander, rinse under cold running water, and drain well. Stir macaroni into the reserved cheese sauce

6. Pour mixture into prepared dish. Sprinkle remaining 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup Gruyère or 1/4 cup Pecorino Romano, and breadcrumbs over top. Bake until browned on top, about 30 minutes. Transfer dish to a wire rack to cool 5 minutes; serve hot.

Very funny!!! I have been busy at work. With our computer policy the way it is, there are very few opportunities to use my computer at work to post. Once these Olympics are over, I will be more active out here. I just really enjoy them so while they are on, that is what I am doing.

Planning a trip to CA early in the summer I hope!!! Then planning for the arrival of some special people!!!!
