:Pinkbounc Libby Lu is finally here :Pinkbounc

Just read in the Fresno paper that we finally got our first Libby Lu store! My DD and myself have never been to one, guess we'll have to check it out.

DS has marching band practice this morning, then we're off to do some shopping this afternoon. Tomorrow our city is having an event called "Taste of the Town" ...local restaurants, chefs, businesses etc. all cook up stuff and you go around sampling it all! (even includes wine ;) ) remember we're in raisin/grape country here. Pretty good stuff me thinks!

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend :sunny:

Hey all

Checking in. DD is banning me from the computer. Between DIS and designing t-shirts she no likey.

RJ: Where is the new Libby Lu store!? I have never been but should take DD and Niece. Have fun at Taste of the Town. We have our annual Wine Stroll here coming up - Fun, fun, fun.

Hey if DCL is upgrading people to open lower cabins...I'll take a category 6 off their hands!! :) Heck, I'll even take a 7 if it'll help. Anything to help my fellow sailors. ;)

:cheer2: GO ANGELS!! :cheer2:

Hey Beano - let's not jump off of the SoCal bandwagon so quickly eh!?

I grew up definitely east of chavez ravine, north of "the murph", and south of the Rose Bowl - and nowhere near rootin' for the Yankees!

Hey - do the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim have to change their name to the Not so mighty, slighly smaller waterfowl of the southern LA basin!? :confused3

My docs confuse me.

I need coffee. Have a great weekend

No worries, Johnna. Once a Dodger fan, always a Dodger fan... I just wish they were, like, ya know... good.

That store of which you speak is in Fashion Fair Mall on Shaw Avenue.

Well, we're off to Fresno this afternoon for one last shopping spree before vacation. Need a new mask and snorkel for DS, need this, need that, etc. etc.

I'd let you watch, I would invite you, but the queens we use would not excite you. :teeth:

'Beano'

DD LOVES libby lu..she asked if we could go today, but it is at a mall in Boca Raton, and that is about 20 minutes away..our mall is 5...Hmmm...nope!

I was in Marching band....it was alot of fun..lots of work, but lots of fun...do they still do freshmen initation? I had bbq sauce and shaving creaming coming out of my ears for a week!

I think I've asked this before and I think Kim is the only one with a child near my son's age, but does anyone have an 11 year old boy. Bo wanted me to ask again. Bo is 11 going on 21 and trying to figure out some way of breaking into the Stacks with the teens. I told him he'd have plenty of kids his age at the Oceaneers Club.

:rolleyes1 all I want is a room somewhere, far away from the cold nights air...warm 'art warm 'ands warm feet....AND MY DCL DOCS....oh woodn't it be loverly?......... :rolleyes1

I know what you're going through - my middle daughter (12) is one of those wishing she could break into the teen's club. (Her older sister will be policing the door, I'm sure. ;) ) She's in 8th grade, though, so all of her friends are older anyway. They'll have fun no matter which section they participate in. DCL does have pretty strict guidelines when it comes to the teen's club (i.e., it won't be easy to break into, I'm afraid). Even if the lab doesn't appeal to your son, he'll find a group that he's comfortable with (there will be plenty of kids to choose from). Just make it mandatory that he go to the lab on the first night. It's really important to start from the beginning because that's when the *flame* of friendships are first *ignited* (for lack of a better way to put that). My daughter always starts out complaining, yet she always manages to find peers to her liking (I say that with an abundance of sarcasm pointed directly to my daughter). :sunny:

yep, hopefully all the older kids that are borderline for the other group will all somehow magically :wizard: come together and bond over the experience of wanting to all be in the other group. See, they already have something in common.

GOTTA GO!!!!!!!

:grouphug:

It's nice to hear there are other "band geeks" on this board! I was in it and I teach color guard now! I love it! I have had 2 state champions and the rest did pretty well also! Anyway...WHERE ARE MY DOCS???? AAHHH!

I definitely think Bo will start out complaining as well, but within 24 hours will find a group of kids that I won't be able to drag him away from. The good thing is, he gets along equally well with girls and boys so fitting in somewhere shouldn't be a problem. I hope. LOL!

Gina: I feel your pain... ::yes:: Me wantum docs too!!! Do ya think they are really serious about that last one to get docs gotta buy sailaway drinks thing?? If so, I might just have to be scarce during this time.....

See Betsy, it's NOT just us, Gina no gottie, and Kurt no gottie. And probably a bunch 'o the lerkers no gottie too. RIGHT LURKERS???? :magnify: I like to talk to the lurkers every once in awhile so they don't feel left out ya know.....

I was in band all thru junior high, played flute, but of course no marching. In high school I gave up band because I was in Acappella Choir and Varsity Drillteam. And since the band plays the song while the drillteam dances to it...little hard to play the instrument, and do the routine at the same time..... :confused3 had to give one of them up.

Good lordy loo, did Texas kick some OU hiney er what?????

Just plain ole, little ole me

Whoa...I just got completely freaked out. :earseek: I just clicked the October 22nd cruise thread by mistake and started reading through the posts. Let me just say...

:::::::::clicking heels:::::::::: there's no place like home..there's no place like home...there's no place like home...

Lynn - I played flute in middle school then piccolo in marching. Easier to carry a piccolo and march. Mom could always hear me in the crowd too since there was only 1 other piccolo.

I bet they don't even know the Magic is in drydock like the one in another thread who posted this morning that it was "missing" from its usual spot in Port Canaveral. Someone should tell them in case they've been wondering too. :rotfl2:

WooHoo ! Cleaned out two closets today ! 6 bags of clothes taken to the donation center. You should see the pile of hangers we have :rotfl2: . I told DH that we are never buying new hangers, if we run out then that means we have way to many clothes. It's so nice to be able to walk in to my walk in closet. DD said " Wow I've never been in here before :rotfl: .

I'm so proud of my pack rat hubby he did some major clearing today. Now if I could just get his office off my kitchen table :cloud9: dare to dream.
