I thought our wait staff was great. To be honest we only had awesome wait staff one time and that was on the Magic 2 years ago.
I would love to hear your thoughts on what has been changed and what still needs work....do you mind sharing?
On the MV, the Wait staff was 2/3rds new, 1/3rd old which led to some rotten service. That seemed to be fixed and our main Server was excellent, he was even planning how he was going to serve us the next night. We had him for both parts of this B2B, since he did so good on the first three nights, we requested him for the next four. He mentioned he will also be on the Fantasy MV, so we know who are Server will be there.
In the bathrooms (Men's & Women's), the paper towels are located under the Mirrors. Nice for design and keeping room clean. Bad for anyone near six foot tall. I never saw those towels until I in one bathroom there was a mirror across the room and in that mirror I saw the towels under the mirror on my side. Our suggestion (and probably many others), was to just put up a sign where the towels were. On this cruise, we noticed that the towels were labeled in every bathroom. Perfect, never missed them.
On the MV at Guest Services, there was no queue line and a conversational couch set along the wall there. We suggested a queue line where the couch set was and the following day they did just that. The couch set was moved across the atrium next to the wall between the Royal Palace and dock entry portal. On this cruise, while the couch set is still there (and also there in a the Fantasy according the pictures), the queue line was shortened and moved closer to the GS counter. Totally, understand that move as the new queue line was almost never full except on embarkation/debarkation day, during the MV I think there was about 50 people in line every hour/every day.
During the MV, we noticed that the exhaust fans in the bathroom were still screwed tightly closed. We mentioned it to the Officers (along with all the other comments), but noticed on this cruise that those fans were still screwed tightly closed. This time tho, there was a note in every room about keeping the shower door closed so the steam wouldn't set off the fire alarm. On the MV, we opened the fans on both our rooms and I opened the fans in our room during this cruise. We never had a steam problem (or a stinky number 2.

). We mentioned it again to all the officers, head staff, we brought observations too. So, hopefully there will be more than three cabins with open exhaust fans or we will need to cruise on the Dream
a lot more times...
While watching movies in the BVT this cruise, we brought bowls of Fries, Ice cream, Beers, etc (definitely, cheaper than land theaters,

). Made the observation that they need a dirty dish drop off point. We tried to bus our seats to help but didn't have an official place to put them. We tried leaving them a the snack bar there at the BVT and the person manning the booth gave me alot of gripe about that. She would rather I carry my dishes across the ship to a proper bar or just leave them on the floor in the BVT for someone else to cleanup (talked to Officers about that too).
Mentioned to the broadcasting staff, that there they still need a channel guide or at least a quickstart help guide for the TV remote in the room. There is a tips section in the menu section of the onscreen help. But, you need to know how to use the remote to find it (catch 22).
Up at Tow Mater's Grill (and the others), there were signs now stating that napkins were available upon request. Which was another comment during our MV, when we went on a quest to find them (
DCL is trying to be greener, hence the ice cream cones, vs paper cups - tho, I always got a soup bowl from Cabanas.)
More when/if we think of any.
