Have you all seen this? http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...w-celebrations-for-holidays-on-the-high-seas/
Basically it is a confirmation that there will be NO DCL sponsored "trick or treating" on any of the 2 large vessels. :sad2: And the Dream will have more specific activities than the Fantasy.

At least they released this info prior to sail unlike last year. :thumbsup2

Bags of candy delivered to staterooms. Just as last year. In fact, candy was delivered only to cabins, IME, which had kids under 16. :scared1:
That could/was offensive to some adults. :rotfl2:

The details sound like less is planned for 2014 IMO. So plan accordingly. ;)

It's ok... From everything I've heard the DCL official TOT paled in comparison to the one that Jen and the other volunteers pulled off for the Halloween cruise on the Magic in 2010. We are planning on doing that again!:cool2:

I'm sure there will be a costume party with the characters dressed in their costumes as well.

Hey gang! I got the FE list updated today- we are up to 15 Participants (58 individuals):thumbsup2 Very excited to see the list filing out so quickly.

If you want to be added to the FE just PM me (click on my username) or add a post on FB. :goodvibes

Vicki so excited to cruise with you again, I know Savannah will be excited to see Adriane! And congrats on your new addition since the last time!:goodvibes

I've been doing some simple brainstorming on the ToT. We probably won't start serious panning on this event until maybe the first of the year....but I am definitely interested in any and all ideas anyone has for it!

If you are interested in reading about how we did out it in 2010 check out my post about it in my TR HERE. It took about an hour to complete so it doesn't take a huge chunk out of your day!:thumbsup2

Just something to think about!

Hi Jen good news on the fe list, I'm glad I've already started to make my gifts! I am happy to supply some treats for the tot. my daughter and II will happily (wo)man a station too, to hand out sweets. Everything from the last tot looks great :-)

I saw an email that said children will receive a candy bag in their stateroom that they can take along to a ship wide party to collect even more treats

I will definitely volunteer to (wo)man a station! Sounds like a great time - and what a huge workload! Hopefully you will be able to reuse a lot of the material with minor tweaking?! If we end up driving, and not flying, I can bring a lot of candy, too. I'm sure we will iron out the details down the road, but I just want you to know I'm in for helping! :)

Excellent!! Seems like a great start. We'll need more volunteers to run the different trick or treat stations. We'll start to organize this as we get closer to the cruise.

I did add a place in post one for this event and started the list of volunteers there as well. So check out post one with that updated info.

You can add us to man one of the ToT stations too. Marty did this on our last Halloween cruise in 2010 while I took the kids trick or treating. So one of us could do this again. We can also bring a bag of candy too.

Cool! I put you on the list of volunteers.

Do you know what day you/we will have ToT. Will it be the 31st, after CC? And around what time? Or does it need to occur on a sea day?

Clueless folks are curious.

TIA

Please add Alan and myself to the list of volunteers for the TOT. We will run one station and donate money for the candy as well.

My wife and I were thinking that a sea day would be best. I don't think anyone would want to do it on the 31st since we'll be at the beach all day and then everyone will be busy packing up and getting ready for dinner.

My thought would actually be on the first sea day of the cruise. My reasoning is that it is a great way for everyone participating to get to know one another a bit. Then they can continue to see the familiar faces throughout the entire cruise. A lot of people tend to miss out on the day one Dis meet for whatever reason and have a hard time figuring out who's who during the rest of the cruise. This can give everyone, including the kids, another chance to meet each other. Plus those of us who are bringing candy don't have to hang on to it several days.:goodvibes

First timer question...how do you know which dining rotation you will have?

You find out at the terminal before you board. The rotation will be on your key to the world card. You can call ahead to request a specific rotation if you'd like and you'll have a good chance (not 100%) of getting it. Or you can request to change it to what you'd like once you get on board. Most people don't care too much one way or another and they'll just stick with what was given to them.

Hello all! We may be joining you on this cruise since we had to postpone the one we had booked for this September due to the impending delivery of a new family member! Yay! As of this cruise it would be me heather, dh Jason, DS who will be 10 Justin, DS who will be 8 Joshua and the newest member Emma who will be 11 months. Here's to hoping it works out for us! I also sent a request to join the Facebook group. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Thank you!

...... were thinking that a sea day would be best.....

That makes sense and is logical. I still have endless questions about how this ToT will work logistically. What prevents all the other kids aboard, which may see this activity, participating? And I would be reluctant to be a volunteer for our ToT activity if part of of the process was to tell 100 kids "NO" , if you get my drift. :scared1:

I would love to help in some way. I am willing to help donate funds, that's the easy part. :) I just wonder about the planning on "our" part. Will we be doing something else? I suppose as long as you inform us well in advance of the schedule, we will be there. ;) That way, nothing else will be planned for that time. Can you sense OCD? :rotfl2:
Well, I guess if you tell us when and where, on a sea day, we are there. :)
So I guess my question is somewhat moot.

Do you have a printed format of the plan of attack you could share. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. I see 60 kids storming around the vessel receiving candy at 10 locations. This sounds like a recipe for a CM disaster to me. :lmao: I'm all for constructive disruption, but ...
How do we supply ONLY those kids in our group with unhealthy snacks?
Are the ToT stations in private areas, such as cabins?

Wow, I know nothing about ToT aboard. Perhaps someone could direct me to a thread or two with info. :lmao:

Only 439 days to go. :cool1:

Like I said clueless. ;)

TIA for all input.

When we all did the TOT for our 2010 cruise, It was like a scavenger hunt. Everyone met at one area to get the clue and coloured ties (essentially the kids were divided into groups, one red, one green, one orange ect) and sent off in different directions so not all the kids would be at one candy station at the same time. Where the candy stations were located, were not really in high traffic areas where there was a gazillion other kids wandering around. I didn't have any non group families ask for candy, I did have some curious eyes, but it wasn't an issue having to tell any kids "No". :) The candy is in bags, anyway, so not easy for complete strangers to tell or even know what we were doing. Mind you, once kids start grouping up in a costume, there were the odd questions about what this was about, people wondering if they had missed out on signing up for something ;), but they were cool about it when it was explained it was a DIS Group thing :thumbsup2
