Hi everyone. I've been on here only a couple of times, but I did venture into the chat room Saturday night and met some nice DIS'ers in there!

Is Disney doing anything special for Halloween regarding Trick or Treating, or is it up to us to do it? I saw that on last year's cruise, the DIS group set up what seemed to be a treasure hunt to find their trick or treat bags. Is anyone on here planning anything? I am willing to help out with that.

Timidly jumping in here, you guys have such a great thread going!

My family will be on this sailing and with the 75 day mark looming I am really wondering about our dining rotation.

We have Late Dinner and have requested 8pm. Don't know if that counts for anything, but what are the "latest" in the dining rotation?

I have read that 8pm is APPLAPL, am I even close?

Gonna be a great sailing with all the DISers!

Lovely to see you on here - please introduce yourself - we are a very friendly bunch! If you check out POST 6 (click on the link in my signature) you will see all the DIS things we have planned and if you would like to join in with any of them then please do - just send a PM to the appropriate person who is organising each thing.

It is our first cruise too and we can book our excursions at 75 days out - not that I know what I am going to book yet! We have also requested the 8pm dinner, but I am not sure of the actual rotation - so I can't help you there sorry!

Thanks for the PM. You are now on the official list for the Fish Extender exchange - sorry for the delay, but I just tend to do a monthly update when I add all the new participants.

Pam (Dreamcruiser100) is hopefully going to be organising the DIS trick or treat - she is the same person who organised the TOT for the last Halloween cruise and it was a great success - I'm sure she will posting nearer the time to sort out all the details!

I think DCL also organise Halloween activities such as costume parties etc but I am not sure of the precise details!

This is the hardest thing I think I have ever had to do... I can't beleave I am actually saying this but here it goes.... We will not be cruising with all of you AWSOME Disers. many of you know that my DD, Angelina, has many health concerns. Well over the last few weeks thing have gotten more complicated and her Dr does not think it would be a good idea to take her on a cruise right now. Her seizure activity has increased and changed. on top of that she has had a ton of blood work done and many things are showing up.
To make matters worse the stress has really taken a toll on me and my Lupus is out of control. My liver is not working properly and I have had to stop taking all of my pain meds. So we have had to cancell this cruise. I did change our deposit to a cruise next September and will be praying that things settle down and we will be able to go. This is taken me forever to type because it is hard to type though tears
Thankfully we are going to stay at Fort Wilderness next month for 18 days. It is only 30 mins from home and I still have to go to Dr appt and therapy and my DH will still go to work , but anytime at Disney is thearpy for me.
I hope you all wont mind me just hanging around so I can pretend that I am tagging along for the fun. Also If anyone would still want to meet up pre/post cruise I would still love to meet up with you!!! Just send me a PM or email.

I am SOOOO sorry to hear that things are not going well for you and your daughter. I can only imagine what you are going through. But you have to take care of you and Angelina, thats the most important thing, the cruise will always be there. Who knows maybe i'll be on that cruise in September, thats my sons birth month..... You never know! Well my thoughts, prayers and heart go out to you and your family with hopes that all gets better soon. I am so sorry to hear your news and wanted to send you lots of hugs!
You must be desperately worried about your daughter and it is her health and your health which is important - you can cruise any time! I am sorry we won't get to meet you on this cruise but maybe some time in the future. Please do keep in touch and let us all know how things are going. We are thinking of you and hoping things start to improve very soon.

Our fence variance was approved tonight. We can have a 4 foot fence for Max. The zoning rules for a corner lot limited us to 3 foot without the variance.

The National Health System Pharmacist meeting is this December in Orlando. I've been asked about Orlando hotels. Specifically near the convention center. Anybody got experience with lower cost, with decent quality hotels in the area around the Orlando convention center?

I am in pharmaceutical marketing and have been to that convention center lots of times. Don't go to the Rosen Centre or Rosen Plaza. I felt both were way over priced and not very nice rooms. I love the peabody, but if there is a convention, it will be difficult to get and it rather expensive. I've stayed at the Marriott World Center which is very nice, JW Marriott which is pretty new and very nice, Doubletree hotel down the street from the convention center (Free happy hours!!!). Doubletree is probably the most reasonable priced hotel out of the ones i've been to.

Michelle - I am so sorry to hear that things are not going well with Angelina. But if the doctor doesn't feel it would be best, take the time to take care of her and yourself. There will be lots of other cruises and like Amy said, who knows - we may be on the next one! Hang around and keep us posted on how everything is going.

Ladies, congrats on the new phones! DH has the Voyager and likes it. For me, I have a personal cell and one for work. The one for work goes off incessantly, so cell phones aren't cool for me. They are just a source of irritation in my life of late. I am so looking forward to having mine off for Cancun this weekend and for the cruise. Bliss!

We went to the Sebastian Bach, Dokken, Poison concert last night and it was great! It was so hot, loud, and crowded though!

We leave Friday for Cancun for four nights. I'm still trying to talk DH into a whale shark and manta ray snorkel adventure there, but he isn't budging. Anyone ever do this? Any tips for coercion? LOL

I know last time the names of the other party were in my reservation screen to. At what point will they show there? I am hoping to be able to make Palo reservations for everyone in our party (only 4 adults total) and I don't see them there yet.

The cake was REALLY REALLY REALLY delicious! Talked with DH last night about maybe going to see the Magic in drydock. Taking a Saturday and driving down just for the day. ONLY one eensy-weensy problem....I'm not sure where it is!!! Can you just see us all in the Suburban driving around Norfolk hanging out the window asking people "Do you know where the Magic is?" Gosh, I hate to even think about the answers and comments to that....... So, if anyone has any info, Ed...I mean, WE...would really appreciate it!!

Dad's out of the hospital today. Got him into the Subby and then realized he still had his IV in his arm!!! So had to get him back out and get him back inside....then realized he forgot his dentures! ACK! Something that should have taken 10 minutes to do turned into 35 minutes as the nurse and dad were chasing each other from the 2nd floor to the outside and all around! Comical, if I hadn't been too busy at the moment....like something out of Laurel and Hardy...

Dear all,

I have not planned our cruise well this time. I thought our veteran status of four cruises (two Western, Cozumel and Cayman and
Costa Maya and two Eastern) would help, but....Will Halloween be on our last
Castaway Day? Seems hectic, pack and do Halloween? Do we need Pirate costumes, costumes for Halloween, yikes.

I have a good excuse, our last cruise thread got a little strange due to a few participants, so I dropped out.

You all seem great, I should have stuck around.

I also don't even know where or when to make our reservations for Palo and excursions!!!! What time Friday if we are paid off in a Category six?

Help, help.

I tried to find past Halloween Cruise Navigators, but cannot locate them. Between the change to Cozumel, double-Castaway Cay, I'm totally confused.

Usually I have plotted and planned. But every time I have counted on a rotation, we did not get it. We are two adults and two sons, 15 and 12 when we cruise. I'm expecting PLAP, but who knows.

Anyone else with teens or almost? My older guy is pretty quiet, (very quiet around girls! oh, yikes).
