Jackie-Hope the back continues to get better.

Our decorations went up the 22nd, and came down yesterday. We almost didn't put anything up this year. DW was in training for her new job in December, and I'm busy at work. Plus, we had to prepare her home office for her new work from home job. Training is now over, but tomorrow, she has to assemble the computer setup (with tech help by phone).

We hadn't posted in a while, partly due to all the work stuff, but also because DW and her 2 sisters were planning to give their father an Alaskan cruise (all in the family would go) next August. With DW's new job, we didn't know if we could do 2 cruises in 1 year. When hosting her family last Sunday, it was decided that 2008 wasn't a great fit for anybody. So, Alaska is pushed off to 2009. Which, of course, means we're full steam ahead for 10/08 DCL! With help from the Passporter, I started plotting dates, menus, attire, and 105/90/75 days out for our cruise. We spent dinner tonight discussing excursions, Palo plans, and other ship-board activity plans. Let the planning commence!

Sean and Christine..........
GREAT TO SEE YOU GUYS ON BOARD!!!!!!!

Hello all,

I haven't had time to read all your posts, but it's fun to see you have a group well established! Our family (DH Todd, DDs Sofia, 10 on cruise, and Annika, 6 on cruise) are so excited to join you. This is Annika's first cruise and first Disney cruise; we other three cruised Disney way back in Jan 03 (leaving poor little Annika with her beloved Nana and P'pa).

I had a great time meeting friends online before a European cruise I took with my Mom two years ago, and look forward to meeting all of you!

Cheers!

Laurel in San Jose:cheer2:

Welcome Queen Krein. Glad you are joining us.

As to the decorations, I took the decorations off the tree last Wed. but the tree is still up and waiting for DH to take it down and back to the basement. He will be off the next 2 days so I am sure he will get it done. My friend and I always decorate our unit at the hospital. It is a major project. We undecorated Thursday(everything has to be down by the 3rd). I was amazed at how fast it came down. We spent over 12 hours getting the decorations up but it only took us 3 hours to get them down.

As for a resolution, I am going to lose some weight and not stress over things I have no control over.

Welcome back Sean and Christine and welcome Laurel!!!!!!

Jackie, glad to hear your back is feeling better, don't overdo it until you are 100%,

I guess, since my dad is from Newfoundland and my mom from England, I at least get the part about having to leave the decorations up till at least Jan 1st but regardless of how "much celebrating;) " I do New Years Eve, I am up bright and early New Years Day to take down the decorations, I also do a major purdge and clean that day as I am back to work Jan 2nd.....yuck!!!!

New Years Resolutions....

Well lose weight......just a reminder I will post a thread on the community board, so we can get started!!!!

More importantly, eat healthy... I have had high cholesteral in the past and have a check up coming up soon so need to make sure those numbers are down.

Drastically cut down my pepsi consumption

Stick to a budget...we have 2 cruises and a trip to disney already planned for 2008 so need to budget....(this one will be the toughest):thumbsup2

So far we have a few options for tonight but might just stay home...we I have mentioned many times, I am doing a 1/2 marathon in Jan so don't need to overindulge less then 2 weeks prior, we are also expecting a snow storm tonight so another reason to stay home.

Well off to do some training.....have a super day all.

Kim

** Don't forget to check the community boards everyone and post your goals.....boy there are going to be some hot looking chics on the Oct 25th Magic cruise!!!!

Back much better today thanks everyone

Disney pin collecting / trading

Is anyone a Disney pin collector / trader?

My family tend to collect pins and occasionally trade but not on a massive scale. I basically collect POTC pins and any commemorative (dated) pins and pins from when I make trips. I was just wondering if there were any more pin collectors on the cruise and what pins in particular you like to collect?

and while we are on the subject - do any of you collect anything else in particular?

Today I am in a cruise obessessive mood - and I was thinking maybe we should get a list of what we would like to do together as a group when we are on the ship. I haven't cruised before, so I probably haven't got much of an idea of what sort of things we could do, but from reading the DIS boards, I have come up with a few suggestions which I am interested in doing.

1. exchanging small gift / souvenir from place where you live via the fish extenders.

2. trick or treat gifts for the kids on halloween via the fish extenders.

3. meeting together for drinks.

4. Disney pin exchange for any pin collectors.

Now please tell me what you think and add on to this list, as I'm sure some of you will have some amazing ideas .........

This is what we did as a FULL group on my last cruise.

1. OF course met in lobby while waiting to board...all of us had on LIME GREEN Tshirts! which were bought from Disney stores.

2. At 3 pm we met in front of the kids pool and had a social hour. We had drinks and chatted and kids played in the pool.

3. Some Girls did a GREAT scrapbook martini drink exchange! We went to the bar and everyone had a bag of scrapbook goodies and we had drinks and chatted for abotu an hour! VERY FUN!!!!!

4. WE HAD A VERY LARGE HALLOWEEN trick or treat scavenger hunt for our kids.....IT WAS very fun! One of the ladies did it up for us on the last cruise i thougth she was joining this cruise too, but have not seen her in a while!

5. We did 2 seperate Palo brunches! one for just ladies and one for couples!

6. We were going to do a Pirate Night picture but dont think we ever did, unless i missed that!

7. Since we are doing Castaway Cay 2 times it would be nice to do a Group picture on Cast away!!!!!!!

8. We prepared a list of fish extender rooms #s for everyone to have

9. Soemone made us all matching door magnets.

10. Some one else made us a calendar of events sheet which i changed into a magnet to put ont he back side of my door!

Oh what fun we are going to have!!!!!

KIM!!!!!

IT is VERY SIMPLE to find the Community Baord Thread any time you need......................

1. LOOK UP at the top of this screen.......in the RED line!!!! SEE the first set of words, user CP!!!!!!!!

2. CLICK ON THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Now you should see a screen that has 2 sections a light yellow section running down the left hand side and a BLUEish section on the right...on the right are THREADs that you have posted to that someone else has posted too since you were last on!!!!

4.IF by chance you do not see the THREAD that you want to post to....go to the yellow section way down it will say soemthign to the effect of show all subscriptions,,,,,,,,and it will pop up EVERYTHING you have EVER posted too!
You will find the COmmunity Board thread in that MUCh easier than going to the Board itself!!!!!!!!!!
