We are in the middle of a huge thunderstorm!! :cool1:  :thumbsup2 First one of the season and it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I know I am strange, this is my favourite kind of weather!!!!!!!
I get kind of depressed when it's hot and sunny but when this weather comes, I am happy as a clam!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

You and me both. Living in AZ we don't get much for rain, so when we do I love it. I open all the windows and listen to it. I am so happy when it is overcast and raining. I love the smell of wet cement (or as friends call it wet dirt) Those are the days that I like to snuggle up in bed with the blinds open reading a good book. If only Mackenzie would let me.:guilty:

Hey John - I know what you mean - i hear about the stuff that can happen to kids and I freak out - I cant even watch certain TV shows anymore without getting upset.

Hope the twins are doing better - I had both of my little ones sick at the same time back in November and then I got sick as well - it was brutal but somehow parents find the will to get through it all.

If you got to You Tube and do a search on Disney - you will find a video of a family telling their kid that they are going to WDW - it looks like they are picking her up from school and saying "we are going right now". Its a cool video. One story I read somewhere is they told the kids they were going on a day - like October 27th - that way the kids could get excited about going and start to plan. But then they parents wake them up a week early to say - sorry - we lied - we are going today!

Your job sounds very interesting - do you have your own company?

Jessalynn

Great Idea IMHO they still get to take part in the planning but they don't do your head in the last couple of days before you leave.....as for the twin thing i once passed the open nursery door and heard my two say "you give me nothing Rosie...yes i do,i gave you chicken pocks...Yes but Rosie i didn't even WANT them"...

ps...When the twins were little and Ryan spent a lot of time in the hospital they'd used to clear the cott next to him and wait for Rosie to arrive, she never let them down....:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

PPS...No news on the house except upping the bid by $100 grand, sealed bids right!!....Please don't set me off again hence am up at this time...:rolleyes1

Funny story, Chris.....Sounds like y'all have a great time with the twins.

As for the house buying issue, all I can say is :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We have been married over 16 years and have never bought a house. We've always lived in military housing, so I am rather nervous about having to buy a house when Rob retires.:scared: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: to you and Hazel.

DH here...Hi Paige, :wave2: How ya'll doing. Getting everything packed for the fun cross country trip?:rolleyes1

Hi, yes, we are getting ready. It's a pain in the butt, but at least it's not boring......I keep telling myself this but myself is not listening!:rotfl:

Ok, now I've got to get some sleep. Have a restful night all.

My internet has been down for the past 3 hours  Must be all those thunderboomers

Did my elliptical and got my passport stuff all ready.

DH here, Yes the other night owl is still here. Is the storm still going on?

We just had a picture of Moraine Lake and a cover story on Banff Nat. park in our travel section this past Sunday. WOW what a beautiful place. :thumbsup2

I tried to post this earlier but no internet :headache:

When I was talking about the transfers, about the "shiny stuff" I will try and show you what I mean...

This first one is done with my old sheets that you can pass a sheet of paper over to get rid of the shiny part so it looks more like silk screening:

transfer.jpg

This one was done with Avery sheets and you can see the shiny part around the hearts:

Hopefully I can find some transfer sheets that are similar to my old ones where I can iron off the shiny stuff :cool2:

Hey Scott! Night owls rule :thumbsup2 Yes, the Canadian Rockies are gorgeous! We are lucky to be so close, I get to see the Rockies everyday, we are about 45 mins away from Banff where I live.

The storm has passed :guilty: We heard tons of sirens and car alarms, it was quite interesting! Apparently in Edmonton (3 hrs north of Calgary) there were a few tornados and lots of flooding. :sad2:

It mentioned the Columbia Icefield and the Yoho Natl. park. The map even included Kamloops. Sorry no Edmonton. Guess when the Oilers startfoing something they will mention it.:rotfl:

Cas, I hate to leave you, but my show is coming on, and it is the season finale. Have a good night.

Talk to ya'll in the morning.

Good morning folks:goodvibes

Hope everyone is having a good day so far:banana:

I tried to post this morning but hit the 8.20am our time and it kicked me out half way through:rolleyes:

We've just got back from seeing our new house again:yay: - still love it!
Just the one lot of solicitors holding the whole thing up now:mad: - they are going to see them today and hopefully get things moving FAST. Still hoping for the 15th as moving day. Considering we were hoping to be in by Easter:rolleyes:

I'm out to lunch today with a friend, we're usually a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine sort of thing, today - main course only and a glass of diet coke:angel: - I think I've lost a pound since Friday:banana: - hopefully I can keep it off til fridays weigh in

Doing well on the exercise too - swam in the outdoor pool at the gym yesterday - 30 lengths and then sunbathed a bit, today I have been up since 7am and been lugging more boxes (can I say lugging? or is that as bad as humping:rotfl2: )

Jerkface=myself John + wife Dawn + 2 other cruisers Gabi and Alyssa both 10 at the moment and twins.

I tend to measure success by the positive impact that a person can make on one another not to mention selflessness.

Nice to meet you John, Dawn, Gabi and Alyssa - hope the twins are better soon.

I like what you said about measuring someones success - very nice comment:goodvibes

Hey I read in some of the other threads people having all kinds of problems with their cameras. Going from the cold AC rooms to Castaway on a hot day seems to have trashed many cameras for a day or two. Cruisers recommend wrapping them in towels or packing them with those gel packs used for shipping.

Anyone have this type of trouble in the October season? Wasn't sure if that time of year would be trouble or not. I have not had this problem yet but we normally travel in January/February.

John

I use the tiny sachets of silica gel - works a treat - absorbs the moisture and stops it getting fogged up. You usually get them inside handbags and shoe boxes etc - I always keep them and use them in this way.

Unless you spell Konked Kruisers, or sresiurK deknoK, wrong. :rotfl2:

Trust you to notice I'd spelt it wrong:snooty: ;)

We'll see if Ellis thinks that way after a couple of dinners with those crazy Americans.

I've already warned him;)

After all that cake last week, I've been doing great. Hope everyone else is doing the same.

Robin

Well done Robin:thumbsup2

Got my new ticker on my signature tonight!

Just booked our flight to Miami to visit my cousin and her family, then
up to Melbourne for Sean to visit F.I.T. for a college tour and interview,
then we'll be spending the weekend with cousin and family at WDW!

Yippee! .

Woo Hoo! :cool1:

I'm the kind of weirdo that HOPES for rainy stormy days while on a cruise :rolleyes1 Makes me feel happy

Nooooooooo! :scared1: - no storms - we want clear blue skies and calm seas

Ok, new KK pocket logo with flags is up on the site now. Hopefully that covers what everyone wants.

thank you:hug: I can get Neil to wear it if its small

PPS...No news on the house except upping the bid by $100 grand, sealed bids right!!....Please don't set me off again hence am up at this time..

I used to hate sealed bids when I worked in the estate agents:sad2: - the amount of time people used to try to bribe us:eek: - I hope you're successful Chris - where is it you're moving to?

I see what you mean, but it still looks great. If you find a good paper to use please let me know - I'll be getting mine off ebay probably - theres plenty of it on there.

thanks for the welcome back everyone , the game is on the 17th oct against russia , so its a big match and i am up for downing a few glasses of the black stuff!!!!! i think the exams went well i just have to do a Presentation next week and its all over for a few months , going to try and confuse them with some medical stuff and hope they dont ask any questions!!!!!! just be my luck there will be some doctors there!!!!!

i am taking my england shirt but cath says i can only wear it on the day of the match.

Wayne and Elouise will definately have their ENGLAND shirts on too that day. :thumbsup2 Nearer the date lets see what our plans are, we might even get a mini dis meet at the english pub ! :rotfl2:

Any word on little Madeline?princess:

Sadly no word on the missing 4 year old. The parents are on Crime Watch a TV programme highlighting various crimes, to ask public for help. It can be quite successful in getting info and jailing people. Saldy with Madeleline the first 24 hrs were vital and the police were not very accurate or quick. God Bless her, and I hope she is in peace, where ever. :grouphug:

Welcome back Sean.

Linda = Missy's husband had to have his gallbladder removed last Monday. He was a very sick puppy for a few days prior. He was in the hospital for 5 nights. He is now getting a little better.

Ouch, wishing him a speedy and pain free recovery ! :grouphug:

Well I am not as good as you guys all are on your machines for hours at a time. I am so impressed (and jealous).
But I did find a running program called Couch to 5K in 10 weeks. So I started last night and I AM SO SORE TODAY. I am supposed to go out again on Wed night and I dont know if I will be able to, but I will try.
Well done :thumbsup2 Ive just been to body pump and body combat clasess this morning... tomorrow i wont be able to move !:rotfl2:

John Hi, :) as Karen has said we sue the silica gel small packs. We cruised last oct and people were having problems with cameras, but we were fine:banana: just plan to take about 10000 photos ! :lmao: Take extra cards, batteries etc... you can never have enough !

Cass thanks for the Hertz info ! :thumbsup2 Think i will get Wayne to drop us at the port and then go to Hertz and get the bus back, while we wait. Question... .can we get a card ( the number boarding cards for him?) or does he have to be there... ??? We would want to board together:goodvibes

Chris
Good luck with the house pixiedust: sealed bids are scarey !!!

John.
With the data stuff, I agree. A lady at work had her rubbish gone through, and her ID taken... it was a 4 year nightmare to get sorted out ! :scared1:
I always SHREAD everything that goes in our bins! mind you from Sep we will only get a 14 day bin collection instead of every week ! NOT HAPPY!! dont get any reduction in council tax though! Friends husbnad has to CLIMB ~IN the wheelie bin to sqush down the rubbish each week, cosd if the lid inst fully shut the ONE bin isnt collected ! :sad2:

Mackenzie... lots of dust stuff for you...... .pixiedust: Elouise cant wait to play with you on the cruise :grouphug:

Good morning LindyLooHoo!

Well done :thumbsup2 Ive just been to body pump and body combat clasess this morning... tomorrow i wont be able to move !:rotfl2:

Sounds like Kickboxing classes. :rotfl2:

Can you buy these silica gel small packs anywhere? I had horrible problems with my camcorder on our first cruise. It was one with a small tape in it. Now we bought a digital because it seems those people didn't have such problems. We couldn't take videos on the ship once we were out at sea. The camcorder would just shut down. :guilty:

My digital camera was just fine.:upsidedow

From what I heard, they use your boarding pass. I'll check with my friend Andy who is the "Know All End All" of everything DCL.:thumbsup2
