thats ok, all the other colors i can handle. its just that black and gold i hate.
i am back to work next week. im meeting robin for lunch today. its a nice day. sunny 60s.
next weekend we are going down to dayton to visit our dd for her 20th birthday. shes in school down there. she wants to go to cincinati zoo for her bday.hoping for good weather.

Mike I understand. We don't like the Bears colors or the Vikings colors either :rotfl2:
Have a nice lunch with Robin! And here's hoping for good weather for you guys for next weekend pixiedust: If your weather men are like ours they'll change the forecast on you at least 10 times between now and then.

Lori I enjoyed my rotation through radiation therapy when I was in ultrasound school but I wasn't sure if I would be able to handle watching some patients get sicker instead of better. My dad passed away from cancer when I was 14 and I just am not sure I would be able to work with cancer patients every day. You and Missy are 2 very special ladies working to help some very sick people get better :grouphug:

It's good to hear the market is good somewhere. We have cycles here too and not to long ago there was a great demand for techs in all areas of Radiology but now we are at a time where the market is saturated again. It's not just radiology but it seems all health care workers and it's throughout the state. One of my sister's is a nurse in northern WI and she just escaped a lay off not too long ago and her DD is a nurse in the middle of the state and jobs are tight there too. Again I am happy to have my job. I have worked where I am for the past 17 years so at least I have a lot of seniority!

Cheryl

Back as me!!
Tell your sister she should move to Virginia. At our hospital there are over 50 job listings for nurses!!!! That's just the one hospital. I think it's the same all over this region.
I'm sorry to hear you lost your father at such a young age. That is definitley the hardest part of the job is seeing young families going through so much pain. But, our job is mostly rewarding. All of us for the most part in this field feel privileged to get to meet such great patients and help them through what is a very difficult time in their life.

Wow that's amazing you have so many job openings just at one hospital.

I know what you mean about the job being rewarding. I love the time I get to spend talking with patients, especially some of the older ones that just need someone to talk to, they really have some neat stories to tell of how they have seen the world change over the years!

Just thought of one more thing.

I was wondering...how many of you women out there enjoy watching sports on TV as much as I do?

I absolutely love watching Football, Basketball, Baseball, and soccer. In that order. I will be the first one on the coach on any given Sunday and will watch every football game during the winter. That includes all NFL and even some college games. Although Chuck does not share my passion of football, he will watch tons of basketball games. When it comes to the Packers he is a "Fair Weather Fan". He'll watch the Packer games with all four kids and me but would rather putz around in the garage instead. (Weirdo :lmao: )

Woah...look at the time! Gotta fly.

GO PHOENIX SUNS!!!!:cheer2:

Nancy I'm not big on watching sports on TV, I'd rather be there to watch them live if I'm going to watch them at all. If Al stays home to watch a Packer game sometimes I'll sit down and watch with him for awhile but usually he goes to one of the are sports bars and watches the game with his friends. You would think I would watch sports on TV because my mom always did when I was growing up. Her favorite was baseball and if the Brewers weren't on TV she'd always listen to them on the radio.

I'm with you on liking to watch them live. i like basketball the most. I like college sports. Not so much pro.

So everyone, any great plans for the weekend?

We are taking a run down to Racine (1/2 way between here and Chicago) to buy our flowers and vegetables for the garden. We're making the garden bigger this year so we'll be working on digging up the lawn for that. Yeah, yeah...I say "we" like I'm going to help. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Nancy are you going to Mileagers? Haven't been there in awhile but I love that place! Rachel and Al are going to a pet fair and a safety fair tomorrow so while they are gone I am hoping to get some major weeding done. The weeds are taking over my perennial garden again and I want to make sure I have them under control before we go to FL next month. Why do the weeds always grow better than the flowers :flower3: Then tomorrow night we are going to a friends daughter's dance recital and then out to dinner probably to Red Robin. Good luck with your :lmao: rotatilling and have a great weekend!

Cheryl

I've got to get off of here. I have been multitasking and getting some laundry done between posts but I have to vacuum the whole house and I have some errands to run so I need to get going.

Have a good weekend everyone :sunny:

Cheryl

I actually made a list of what we each wore on our cruise last Oct. when we got home. I thought maybe it would help me not to overpack for a change for this cruise (Al is really hoping :lmao: ) I am famous for overpacking, my brother-in-law even made a not so nice comment about how many suitcases we ahd when he picked us up at the airport last year and now that Rachel is getting older she is even worse than I am about bringing too many clothes that she never even wore. I am really going to try and "help" limit her this year.

I will have Suz start packing about a week out (usually less) and then about 2 nights before we go, I tell her to take 1/2 out. Then she sleeps on it and then I have her really think about what we NEED to take.

I remember the first cruise, we had way too much stuff. We keep getting less and less. We're almost to the point if we didn't have to dress up or that she needed all those shoes, we could do carry-on.

then out to dinner probably to Red Robin.

I love Red Robin. Get the A-1 Peppercorn Burger. It is awsome.

Suz did the Bonzai and really enjoyed it.

Oh, and the Frekled Lemonade is great.

Hmm....may need to road trip for lunch. Although, Suz gets a free burger this month because her birthday is this Monday, maybe we'll drive down to Southridge for lunch or dinner on Sunday. They really need to get one out in Brookfield or over her near Bayshore (near where I work).

Just to forewarn you you will probably be seeing a lot of people wearing green and gold, Packers, and red, WI Badgers, on the cruise including my DH Al. Last year we were on the cruise the same week and we kept seeing people in Packer shirts and WI shirts all the time. This week is when kids have a long weekend from school because of WI teachers convention and lots of people take advantage of it and go on vacation.

Are you back to work next week? If so have a good last day of vacation before the weekend! I hope you have some nice weather today :sunny:

Cheryl

You mean Teachers' Vacation. Why else are all the flights to Las Vegas booked for that weekend. :rolleyes1

The parents are taking the kids to FL (flights are all booked).

I'm not addicted......really:goodvibes

Oh my goodness! - she's hooked!:lmao:

Do yu guys ever go to Cedar Point? I love to go there. We love roller coasters!!!!!!!!!!! The bigger the better!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Lori

I'd love to go to Cedr Point - we often watch tv programmes about big coasters and they are nearly always in Cedar Point! We did Magic Mountain /six flags in LA which was great and had good coasters.:thumbsup2The superman and batman rides were great:banana:

OK everyone, so instead of the normal DIS green on the wristbands, what do you think of Black and Gold? :lmao:

Just kidding you Mike.

Too bad WI isn't playing OSU on the 20th. They play on 11/3. WI is playing Northern IL. Not sure why they have a non-conference game in the middle of the season though. Won't be catching them on the TV's in Diversions.

I'm trying to pull up the college football schedule, but I can't find a complete one for Oct 20th.

I looked at the NFL line-up for the 21st and there doesn't appear, based on last year's performances, like any really great games that day. It is Indy vs. Jacksonville on Monday night during our cruise.

The funny thing is that both GB and Cleveland are off that weekend.

You go to Cedar Point and you're only about 6 hours (maybe a little more) from WI.

You could make a trip out of it. :thumbsup2

I'm fed up:sad2:

I have been on the internet researching what I can do for my actual birthday weekend (I'll be 40:scared: ) and I cant find anywhere:sad2: I've been hunting for ages:rolleyes:

Normally, wonderfully romantic husbands would be doing it for their wives - I mentioned it to Neil..... AND HE SUGGESTED A PARTY IN OUR NEW HOME:mad: - yeah right! - that would mean me doing all the catering and cleaning and then shampooing the carpets the day after - NO THANKS!

All I am after is a quaint hotel with a 4 poster bed and lots of wood panelling and nice food. It will be just 3 couples - couldnt stand the idea of a big party with all the relatives:scared: - my idea of hell!

Oh well, I'll just keep looking I suppose:rolleyes: I want to get dressed up, eat lots of nice food, drink lots of nice wine then stumble upstairs to a big bed:cloud9:

I found one place but it was ££££££££££:rolleyes1

I want filet mignon on a burger budget:lmao:

Karen, here I am up again at the "butt crack of stupid" (as you would say) and now you're not here to play with me. I woke up at 3:45 never to fall asleep again. By 5:00 I was so bored that I woke the dog up to go out and play. I tossed his ball in the yard and all he did was look at me, sighed heavily, and layed down in the driveway. I think I could read his mind. "Crazy lady...go back to bed and leave me alone". Poor pooch was even too tired to go potty.

Let me rephrase that to give Chuck a little credit. Chuck will dig up more of the lawn to accomodate a bigger garden.
(I'll provide beverages throughout the day).

Then he will go to rent the rototiller to dig up the garden.
(I'll go along because I just love that hardware store to snoop around in).

Then come home to use it in our garden.
(I'll run the video camera because it has got to be the funniest thing I've ever seen him do).

Then off to my parents house to rototil their garden.
(I'll once again offer beverages and join my parents in standing around and watching Chuck work his butt off).

After that it's off to return the rototiller and because I'll be exhausted by then, I'll offer to take Chuck to TGIF's because I won't feel like making lunch. (Besides, I just saw a commercial on TV that they have my favorite salad back on the menu).

By then it should be around 4:00 in the afternoon and we can call it quits and relax. :lmao: :rotfl2: YIKES!! I'm exhausted just typing this.:rotfl:

Have a great weekend everyone!!:dance3:

Hey Nancy,

Can Chuck come over and till Suz' garden? I own a rototiller, he can just come over and do it for me. :rotfl2:

I took Suz down to Playa del Carmen, Mexico for her 40th. That is where the ferry goes from Cozumel. We had a blast. No getting dressed up though. She just wanted the beach. What a great weekend. And soooo loooong ago. What an old lady. Good thing she doesn't read this board. :rotfl:

My day is coming, next January. For my 40th I booked the repo cruise through the Panama Canal on Disney later that year. It will also be our 15th wedding anniversary in Oct '08.
