We are hoping to plan a trip for October 2021, a long weekend. We are hoping the travel quarantine bans will be lifted by then for our state. It will be a girls trip to celebrate my mom's 70th, daughter's 10th and 13th, my god daughter's 21st and nieces 1st visit! What a year of celebrations! There will be 8 of us in total. The plan is the Halloween party one day and a park hopper another day. So a very short trip but a fun one! This can only happen if the Halloween Party resumes, and like I said travel ban is lifted. I am trying to get an idea of prices. We were thinking about staying at a disney springs hotel but I am thinking against that now. We want to stay on property being that it is so quick of a visit. Any predictions about when more properties are going to reopen? So far we are thinking of a 2 bedroom at OKW or 2 adjoining rooms at a moderate. Any ideas of what I should look into? The Swan is also giving a nice 25 percent discount right now to teachers, and don't know if I should jump on that to hold 2 rooms. We are looking at either a thursday to a sunday, or a friday to a monday- most likely the 3rd or 4th weekend in October. Any thoughts about the Halloween Party and when that will be announced?

In pre-pandemic years, MNSSHP would already have been announced. Given current circumstances, I think it's very hard to predict when and/or if Disney will hold the party this year.

We really like the Swan and, if you are are able to get a good price (comparable or just above the price of a mod) I would probably go that route, however, if you are flying in, you may want to factor in the cost of ground transportation from the airport as Magical Express would not be included in that stay. I would pick the Swan, in particular if EP and/or DHS factors into your park hopping plans as that would be very conveniently located.

We did something very similar to what you are planning back in November 2019 (we did MVMCP). We ended up choosing CR as our resort as we knew the holiday party would be a very late night and walking back to the resort was incredibly convenient. We stayed in the garden wing at CR which offers the cheapest rooms on the monorail route. You may want to consider pricing that out to see if it's in your budget. A 2-bedroom at BRV or CCV or 2 rooms at WL would offer you easy boat access to/from MK for the party as well. Especially with such a short trip, I would take proximity to parks into consideration. OKW is not very convenient, IMHO. I would probably go with the Swan, CBR (which offers you Skyliner access) or see if there is anything on the monorail, at an EP resort or at WL/CCV/BRV which would be in your budget.

Great points! Thank you for the feedback.

We stayed at a 2 br OKW villa with extended family and it worked out great. It was also for a short, three night stay. We especially appreciated the full size washer and dryer when the group got caught in heavy rain. :)

We will be there the week before Halloween. If there are Halloween parties this year then keep in mind that October 31st usually gets sold out.

No one really knows what the situation will be in October. But I am planning our trip as if everything is back to normal for the most part. :)
