October 2019 Animal Kingdom not available?

I have never booked a trip this far out before. But for giggles, we checked today and the middle of October has no availability at AK Lodge. Looking at the 19th/20th etc
My question is, is this normal? and if rooms are blocked for some reason, will they open up? Does anyone have inside info as to why nothing that week or the week before is available? Almost everything else is so I find it strange!

You're right, there's definitely something odd going on. On the UK Disney site I can only book a club level room (or suite) for those dates.

October is prime season, Food and Wine.. Tough to get accomodations anywhere! Opening of Star Wars at HS will increase demand also.

It must have been a glitch. Everything everywhere is pretty much available now.

I checked again this morning and nothing at Animal Kingdom Lodge is available but everything else from Polynesian to All Star is available.

Ignore me…I thought you were looking for DVC availability which is what I posted above.

I do think if even DVC has full availability, then there must be a glitch with the system for regular resort availability.

I was just noticing that Beach Club Villas, the studio villas, is still available during the F&W, for September and October-LESS than 11 months out. I thought the Epcot resorts really filled up during the F&W at exactly 11 months out. Was wondering if many people are "on strike" about Disney prices.

The Villas get booked with points at the 11 month mark for Sept and Oct. Disney owns a percentage of the Villas and they normally don't sell out that far out, which is what you are seeing.

Yep. Points and cash inventories are totally separate, with some short term exception.

When members say « nothing » is available during those times, there are still studios available, just not the cheapest (standard view at BWV, standard view at BLT, value at AKL) or most desirable (boardwalk view at BWV, concierge at AKL).

There are studios at those resorts available after the 11 month window, just not the ones they want.
