***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

I'm soooo excited! We have spoken with our TA and are officially going to DW Oct 6-13th, staying at the POR!!! Can't wait! :dance3: This is the first time for my kids (will be 8pirate: and 6princess:)! The last time I went was about 20 years ago!! Yikes! I see many of you are a bit like me - I'm OCD DISNEY!! I've already got my ADRs pretty well planned out and what days we want to go where! My parents are coming along with us too! Already bought my DD a few Mickey, Tinkerbell, and Princess shirts to wear down there and she is getting a Minnie Mouse for Valentine's Day! Just super excited that we are official now!:yay:

Very cool!!! It will be 17 years since I've been there and also first time for my kids. They will be 14, 9 and 6! My 6 year old is also a princess! :) And I'm also gonna be at POR!! lol We leave on October 10th!

I've been learning as I go since I've never planned a vacation before. I am VERY glad I discovered the DIS!!!

Welcome to DIS! Prepare to be addicted :)

Alright..I'm gonna post this and then it will probably change about twenty times in the next 8 months :rolleyes1, but here goes..
Based on Touring Plans' tentative crowd calendar, which is based on last year's WDW calendar, here are our tentative plans...and of course this is based on what flights are looking like when THAT schedule comes out! Like I said, this will probably change about 20 times! :lmao:

We are staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek

Mon Oct 22: Fly from Buffalo to MCO hopefully first flight of the day so we can relax at the resort and swim. Grocery shopping will be done that afternoon and if we can stay awake we will have dinner at DTD..Raglan Rd is our traditional first night dinner!
Tue Oct 23: first park..gotta be MK!! We are hoping some of the Fantasyland Expansion will be up and running! Oct is late in the year, but is it late enough?
Wed Oct 24: this day is a toss up...either AK or DHS..they both have good numbers, but it will depend mostly on the Fantasmic schedule, not sure if we are going to want to brave those crowds.
Thur Oct 25: This is our 15th Anniversary!:hug: We will hang out at WBC and rest and swim..then get all gussied up and head out to.... MNSSHP!:lmao: We loved this party in Oct when DH and I went alone..so this will be the best way to celebrate with our DD's!!:dance3:
Fri Oct 26: Another rest day....but this time we will be going to DTD and shopping as well as swimming at WBC! Definitely will have to eat at EOS!
Sat Oct 27: Back to the parks and this is the day we will go to either AK or DHS depending on what we do earlier in the week.
Sun Oct 28: I know we should be avoiding Epcot on the weekends...but we need to get in there sometime and this was the best day in the week for us. Gonna get me some F&W!!!:cloud9:
Mon Oct 29: Normally we should be avoiding MK on a Monday...but with MNSSHP that night it is supposed to be low crowds during the day.
Tue Oct 30: We go home today...depending on when our flight is scheduled we will be hanging out at WBC and taking in all the amenities we may have missed earlier in the week and then heading over to DTD on the way to the airport for any last minute shopping and eating we want to partake in.

Looking back at our notes, I may switch the Sun and Mon around and do MK on Sun and Epcot on the Mon....we will wait to see what the crowd calendars say when the park hours get released. But I feel pretty confident in this schedule. We added a night from our usual 7 night week...we feel like we need to relax more on vacations now..and having a resort like WBC gives you lots to do!!

Does anybody know if any sit down restaurant are open on MNSSHP nights?? I know it's too soon, but i'm trying to plan our days/restaurants

Count me in! I'm going with friends the first week of October. I'm a teacher and this is my fall break week--it has coincided with free dining in the past so we are crossing our fingers! :thumbsup2 We haven't booked yet but are leaning towards CSR... I'm hoping to finalize things within the week so I'll let you know once we've got things nailed down! Can't wait! :cheer2:

Well, my girls' trip got postponed and I was all :sad1:. Then my dad (who has heard me talk about free dining and things like that for weeks) said, we should just go instead! So we are! :thumbsup2 My brother and sister-in-law are joining us along with my adorable niece. :cutie: She'll be about sixteen months old by then. We are all SO excited! All that to say, put me down for October 1-7 at CSR! :yay:

I just posted this in another thread, but this one looks more active ;).

Booked for 10/4 through 10/14. First six nights at Saratoga Springs in a treehouse, last four nights in a 2br at AKL Jambo House! Going will be me (25), my mom, my sister, sister's twin girls (a week short of 5 on our trip), my niece (23) and her four year old daughter. My husband will be joining us for a few nights at the beginning, since the initial reason for the trip is a family member's (Disney!) wedding. I'm the trip planner, down to every last tiny detail. I know I bug everyone with a million questions, but they were all so happy with how our last trip turned out that they don't seem to mind them as much this time around.

Now that the renting of points is finished, I'm just scouring Etsy for shirts/hair bows/autograph books for the little girls and trying to tentatively plan park days and meal reservations. Also keeping half an eye out for airfare from Boston. Looking for non-stop as far under $300 as I can get it. Fingers crossed.

ETA: Forgot to add how CRAZY excited I am for MNSSHP and F&W! It will be a first for both, and I cannot wait.

That reminds me, now that airlines are being forced to include fees and taxes in their pirices (:dance3: ) that means the initial prices we're used to will go up.
Does anyone know when that takes effect? I know 3 airlines are still fighting it but hopefully it will be a done deal soon. Time to adjust that Travelocity fare watcher to include a higher price.

Same here. Many time visitor but never for those. :thumbsup2

Will be making my final payment for our October trip tomorrow!! I can't wait. This will be the first time that we've stayed 100% onsite. It will be the first time that we've done the DDP. It will be the first time that we haven't left Disney property to eat in Kissimmee.

Now I just have to figure out where we want to eat and make the ADR's. We are staying at POR. We stayed there once before and we all loved it.

I'm planning on making tip envelopes for the Mousekeepers. I did it the last time that we went and we got some cute towel animals out of it. And we never knew where DS's stuffed animals were going to be when we got back from the parks that day.

All in all I still have quite a bit to do before the big day comes, but for me, that's half of the fun. Am really looking forward to this trip.:banana:

Can you please add me from 10/6 - 10/13? Not sure where we are going to stay yet, but those are definitely our dates ;) It just seems sooo far away :sad2:

Forgot to ask to be added to the list. October 5th thru the 13th. Staying at Port Orleans Riverside.

We are going to be there from October 5th thru the 13th.

This will be the first time that we've been in almost 6 years. I can't wait. Now all that's left to do is to make the ADR's and make plans for what we are going to do each day.

I always enjoy the Food & Wine Festival. Not sure about the MNSSHP. DS is going to be turning 15 this March and I guess that it's no longer considered cool. LOL!!

October has never felt so far away before. Although I know that it will be here before I know it.

AWESOME! We won't be hard to find - twin girls dressed alike and harried looking parents

I'll keep an eye out! ;)

I'm pretty sure that most of them are open. You can check the 2011 information - that will probably tell you what's open.

Added :) Our dates overlap!

I'm pretty sure it's already gone into effect for some airlines. I know it has for Continental.
