October 2009 ADR Wanted/Trade/Exchange/Canceled

I keep seeing a LOT of postings of people who CANCEL ADRs and then post on here. Unless something changed, one of the biggest points of this board is to give ressies or trade them with others. While the cancellation notice is appreciated, it really is low odds for one person to cancel and then another to grab that before others do.

If you can, please post to see if anyone WANTS the ADRs first. If no one does THEN cancel. This will help a lot more people get what they want.

I understand that. That's why I made my second post with reservations that I plan on cancelling, but have not done so yet. However, in the first case, I would have had to risk not getting an ADR that I really wanted, just in case someone else might want the Ohana one. I agree that it's better to post in advance, but that is not always possible.

It wasn't directed at you in particular, just in general. I have actually meant to post that before, your post just reminded me. Believe me, you are FAR from the only one unfortunately.

However, I am curious...how would you have risked not getting your ADR if you didn't cancel your first one? Since Disney doesn't really do anything to discourage booking multiples, I'm not sure how THAT would happen. You should have been able to book and then cancel later on.

I have a Chef Mickey's on 10-4 for 7:00am for 2 Adults and 1 Child. I am looking to trade for a later Chef Mickey's on any morning 10-2 to 10-4... 8-10am.

Hello everyone! I would like a reservation at California Grill on October 2nd or 3rd for dinner. I have a reservation on September 27th @ 7:15pm I could trade. This is for a party of four but a reservation for a party of three should be interchangable. Thank you!

They are/were both associated with my resort reservation number, are both in my name, and are both for the total number of people in my party, so I assumed that one would automatically get cancelled through some sort of sweep or something. I guess maybe not? If so, I'm sorry that I didn't hang on to the Ohana one to try to help out someone else here.

I know this is last minute but.... I need a Characted Dining for anytime between Oct 14-18th. I would prefer Breakfast but at this point anything will do. Anyone have any suggestions. I called yesterday and everything was completely booked except for the Princess one and.... not quite sure the 5 DS is gonna like that. Help!!!!

your adr's are linked to your phone number, not your resort number.
people that do not stay on site can also make adr's, therefore it is the phone number that is checked.

if you used your home number to book and then your cell number for the same date adr, they won't be cancelled.

Is there a specific place you are looking to eat?
I found a 8:15 for Tusker House in Animal Kingdom for 4 on 10/14 and it appears that Cape May Cafe would be available for breakfast also during that span. We ate at Cape May for breakfast in January and loved it. I believe that you can walk there from Epcot if you are worried about transportation. Also, when I did a search for Crystal Palace for breakfast on any day between 10/14 and 10/18 an 8:05 on 10/14 appeared. I would think that this would be the first available time in the search criteria. Play around with the online system. You will have more flexibility to check what you want rather than rely on a CM. Good luck! I also have a 5yo DS so I understand about the Princess meals for them!

Even that's unnecessary.... I've double booked same party, same number, same time several times before and never had a problem with it (I usually cancel it out a few days later once I talk to all members of my party). Disney doesn't cancel this stuff... if they did, we wouldn't need a thread like this one

You didn't need to, but you didn't know... know you do! Again, that wasn't directed at you but just as a general reminder. Sometimes we all need a reminder once in a while. No big.
