Possibly a stupid question, and I apologize if it is. Is the discount offered with the current code common for this time of year? I am usually checking out the February codes, since that's typically when we go.

I am trying to convince hubby we should go in October. He says next year.

So anyway, I realize it's no guarantee that they'll do the same thing next year, but has this typically been close to the average October discount?

We are going Oct 4th-8th, added MYW + Dinning was $1600 now $1400 at the Pop.

I'm not sure about the package discount, but the AP rate is way less than it was last year, and the last 3-4 years before that. From what I'm reading, the package discount is less than normal too. This is a disappointing wave of codes. But, a discount is a discount.

The Florida Residents Special are out :
For Value Resorts from September 28- December 23, 2008 and for Deluxe Villa Resorts you have to check the calenders for prices.

I dunno. I feel so bad about whining about my DU travel agent being MIA when he really wasn't--he was just busy getting us great deals.

I had: 2 adults, POP 10/16-10/21 MYW with hop and basic dining. We took the 10 days no expiring tix because we want to maximize our per day price savings, but didnt want to commit to an AP because we arent certain we can make it back within a year. I had this package booked before the ticket price increase and we just added the code.

TA tried to keep us at Pop and save us big bucks,but those were all gone so he got us at CBR for $2.40 less than the original Pop price. (1898 total) I am pleased and I won't whine about my TA again

Called to use CFC, but it is a bounceback offer, must be currently staying onsite to use it. Could not use it today.

$1212.80 is the cost of the same Disney package minus AirTran. The airfare may be your issue. Did you buy a package that included the airfare?

Yes I did get the package that included airfare. At the time, SW was not offering anything appealing and with the multiple issues with them overbooking, I did not want to fly SW again. Hoping that Airtran will be better.

I guess I just don't get any special discounts this year. Maybe I will look into a TA for future trips.

I called again this morning to see if any availability for my dates had opened up at Pop and also asked again about the Disney Visa code. The CM I talked to said that the DV code had been canceled. Hoping it's not true, but I would sure have thought it would have been out by now.

yeah, you were able to book free dinning and the room only code in sept through the website.

We have ressies at ASMo (preferred room) for 10/9 - 10/19 and I asked about the MYW code being applied and the only thing they could do for us was to change us to ASSp (standard room) and the savings would be about $600. Since my DGDs (10) (12) want to stay at the Movie$ in a preferred room (hopefully Fantasia again) we decided not to di$appoint them and move. What grandparents do to keep these treasures happy.

I was able to get Pop from 10/12 - 10/17 yesterday, but had to split my stay for my first week 10/7 - 10/12 at CSR. You might go to the web site and punch in different room configurations and dates and see what is available at the discounted rate. It may be that only 1 night is blocking you from the choice you want. I am still watching as I would prefer to stay at only 1 resort but if I can't work this out, I will live with this choice.
