Hi everyone,
This is my first post on this forum, although I've been reading all the great tips and opinions for some time.
After badgering/pleading/bribing DH has agreed to take me and two DS's to WDW.
DH has a friend who owns a villa in Thousand Oaks, which is apparently about 25 minutes from WDW.Two weeks in October is just under £1000.Did consider on-site,but DH is not exactly a Disney fan and in a villa we wouldn't be climbing over each other or having to whisper when the kids went to bed.
So accommodation is no problem.
I am frantically saving my Air Miles towards the flights, although I am very confused by just how many I need.
So my first question on the board is when to go?
I will need to include half term which I believe will be from 24th to 28th.
I read somewhere about 'Jersey Week' which I think is at the beginning on November.Does anyone know what it is and when?
So opinions on going the week before halfterm or after would be gratefully received.
My main concerns are the heat(I don't cope very well!)and the crowds(DH will spend the entire two weeks in a strop if we are faced with loads of queing)
Thanks.Tina

Hi there Tina. Welcome to the DIS

Jersey week is usually the first week in November but I found these dates for next year....

2005
Thursday, November 10
Friday, November 11
Saturday, November 12

So likely to be busy this weekend. We have been at various times in October and haven't found any of them too bad. I have only ever been in October and the heat was fine for me, not too hot :)

October is a great time to go. We have been many times in October. It does appear to be getting a little more crowded than in the past, but it is still considered a low season. You have some great events on as well, Halloween and the food & wine festival. The temperature is perfect, around the 80's as an average. I don't cope well with heat, but these temps are great for me. Also you have low humidity and low rain fall. I should think the first week in Nov would be quieter than the 3rd week of october, but someone else may know better.

Have a great time planning. Not much help on airmiles, but you can combine cash and miles.
