Lunch - Restaurantosaurus
Larry and I split a double cheeseburger (we got an extra bun), fries and a soda. Tara had a hot dog, fries and a soda. The wait here for food was much too long. Some kind of problem in the kitchen, I think, because no one got any food for about 10 minutes. We were given two brownies for free because of our wait, which was thoughtful. The toppings bar here was a nice touch, although it is not nearly as extensive as the one at Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's in Magic Kingdom. The food here was just okay, nothing special.
Dinner - Pop Century food court
Tara had eaten earlier before I got back to Pop, so I can't report on what she had. Larry had a deli sandwich with cheesecake for dessert, both of which he enjoyed. I had a tuna sandwich, which was very good - it came on a french baguette with lettuce, tomato and dill pickle. I also had the twinkie tiramisu for dessert, which was one of the best desserts I ever ate! Light, creamy, not too sweet, and the most divine taste of coffee. If you are ever there (and you like coffee), make sure you try one.

Breakfast - Whispering Canyon Café
The coffee here was wonderful. Tara is not a big breakfast eater, so she had the fresh fruit plate and said it was just right for breakfast. Larry had biscuits and gravy, which he said were almost as good as his mom's - high praise, believe me! I had the Kansas City Hash, which was excellent. It had corned beef cut into cubes, cubed potatoes, cheddar cheese, a touch of barbecue sauce and peppers and onions. A very hearty breakfast, and one of the more unusual dishes I have tried.
Lunch - Food and Wine Festival Booths
We started with the Florida booth, where we had a shrimp salad roll and a glass of coco polada wine. Both were very good. I later bought a bottle of the wine to bring home. It was lightly sweet, and left a coconut aftertaste. Next I got a piece of baklava from the Greek booth. This was good, but was very heavy and rich - probably not the best choice for such a hot day.
Larry bought a potato cake with sauerkraut from the Eastern Europe booth, which he enjoyed very much. We each got a sample of cheese soup and I got a glass of ice wine from the Canada booth. I think they should sell pretzel bread with this soup, but we still enjoyed it. I would love to buy a bottle of ice wine to bring home, but can't swallow the steep price! Next, we visited the Poland booth, where Larry tried a cabbage roll and honey wine. The cabbage roll was too sweet and the honey wine was not sweet enough - it actually left a bitter taste when you drank it. That's not one we want to have again, but at least we tried it!
Tara wanted to be adventurous, so she tried escargot from the French booth and liked it very much. She offered samples to her dad and myself, but neither of us was that brave - I will eat a lot of things, but snails is not one of them. However, I did admire her gastronomic fortitude. I got some vegetable couscous from the Moroccan booth, but did not care for it. I thought this was a small pasta, but it had the consistency of rice. I like rice, it just wasn't what I was expecting and had a very bland taste. We also bought a frozen lemonade from a booth here, as it was so hot and we were beginning to flag a bit by this point.
The next booth we ate at was the American booth. We shared the lobster bisque, a crab cake and the honey lemonade. I did not care for the lobster bisque, but Larry loved it. I thought the crab cake was to die for - a plate of these would make a wonderful seafood meal! The honey lemonade was not good - we all agreed that the frozen lemonade we had earlier was much better.
Later in the afternoon, I got a small sample of strawberry rice cream from Norway, which was excellent. Light and creamy, but not too sweet.
Dinner - Ohana's
We had a late dinner PS at Ohana's. I got a drink called an Island Sunset that was so good - I think I have a new favorite! It was a frozen tropical drink and had a sweet, citrus-y, peachy thing going on - I loved it. Larry had a sloe gin fizz, and we took our drinks to the table because we did not have a long wait. Our meal was wonderful, as usual. Instead of wontons, we had vegetable spring rolls this time. I actually preferred the spring rolls and asked our waiter if this would be a permanent change, but he said it was not - that they sometimes make substitutions like that according to what they have in their inventory. Oh, well - the steak and shrimp are the big draw for us here, anyway.

Breakfast - Crystal Palace
The character interaction here was good, but we were unimpressed with the food. The Tigger waffle I got was inedible - it was so hard that when I tried to cut it, it crumbled into dust. The breakfast lasagna that I had read so much about was not so great. I think it would be better if it was served cold and had more cream in it, but that is only my opinion - I know many people love it just as it is. The only exception were the breakfast potatoes - there were two kinds, both of which were outstanding. Other than that, nothing to get excited about here for us. Even the coffee was bad. We won't be back.
Mid-morning snack - The Enchanted Grove
Tara and I got strawberry swirls here which were excellent - second only to the Dole Whip in my opinion. They are made with strawberry yogurt and vanilla ice cream swirled together - really refreshing on a hot day!
Lunch - Wilderness Lodge food court
Larry wasn't hungry for lunch today, so he did not eat. Tara had a personal cheese pizza, an enormous sugar cookie and a soda, which she said were very good. I had a tuna sandwich on wheat bread, doritos and a soda, also very good.
Dinner - Earl of Sandwich
Loved the food here! All the sandwiches that we had were served warm. We were also told that since they don't make the food until you order it, you can request that items be added or left off of your sandwich or salad if you wish. Larry had the Full Montagu, which he enjoyed - it had turkey, roast beef, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Tara had the Earl's Club, which she said was good - it had turkey, bacon, cheese and a sandwich sauce, I believe. I had the Frenchie, which was country ham and brie cheese with a dijonnaise sauce. The ham was warm, the cheese was melted and after I added some dijon mustard, this sandwich was wonderful! We each had bags of chips - these were kettle chips, thick and crunchy - and sodas. This was the cheapest meal we had all week, about $20.00 for the three of us, and there were no leftovers. We will definitely be coming back here again!
Late night snack - Giordano's pizza
We ordered a deep dish pizza from Giordano's and it was delivered to the front desk. Larry went down to pick it up and pay the driver. This pizza was scrumptious - easily one of the best I have ever eaten. Loads of cheese and pepperoni, and the crust was very flaky - different from regular pizza crust. If you decide you want pizza while at WDW, I would highly recommend trying this one!

No breakfast this morning - we slept in late.
Lunch - Rose and Crown pub
We decided to try Rose and Crown on a whim, and waited about 30 minutes for a table. Larry had a dark beer while we waited, which he said was good but a little too strong for him. The food here was excellent - much better than we anticipated! Tara had fish and chips - two huge pieces of fish, lightly breaded and fried until the outside was crunchy, with the fish itself moist and flaky. Larry had bangers and mash, which is sausages with mashed potatoes, cabbage and gravy. This was also very good, with nicely seasoned sausage and mashed potatoes with bits of potato skins in them. I had the cottage pie, which was seasoned ground beef with carrots, topped with mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese and baked. This was outstanding - I would definitely order it again. The portions here were huge - it would be easy to share meals if you were so inclined. We decided to order the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and share it. This was actually a toffee flavored cake, with butter rum sauce poured over it. A most excellent dessert which we all enjoyed. Our bill was about $50.00 before tip, but it was well worth it. The service was excellent here, and we tipped accordingly. We will definitely go back here again.
Dinner - Trail's End
We waited about 40 minutes for the buffet dinner here - it is a popular place! The food was good - I particularly enjoyed the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese and lasagna. Tara got a mango smoothie, which she said was very good. There is also a full bar here, which we did not realize until now, but none of us got anything other than tea or coke tonight. Our bill here was about $60.00 - very economical for a buffet dinner for three people at Disney, we thought.
That's it for our meals this trip. Hope you enjoyed reading about them!
