Hey, Gang, we need more cabins for the cabin crawl. Please check out the first page and I believe it is the 5th post for the Cabin Crawl information.

We only have about 6 cabins and most of those are pretty much the same type. It is going to be a very boring and quick crawl unless we have more participants.

We would do the crawl probably the second day after say, 11:00am. That way all of the cabins should have had the cabin stewarts come by to spruce them up.

I also thought that wwe'd start from the first deck and work our way up. As we do one cabin, we move on to the next, taking the first folks with us and so on. That way everyone can see all of the other cabins. How does that sound?

Let me know.

That sound like a good plan.

I've created a spreadsheet for ordering the shirts. You can find it here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuEKyMJbspjjdE5TYUNTVWwzSGJtMGk4SUh4R2t0ekE

I am cutting off the orders on August 17th. Arrangements will be made to ship the shirts to you in September.
Thanks, Carrie

Just added mine... Thanks. BTW... I can show you how to invoice someone so it's free of fees on Paypal as well.. Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you instructions.......

There's about three weeks left before the cut-off date for the FE gift exchange.

Because I have been asked several times, I am going to be breaking the group up into two groups. For those of you who wish to give to everyone, THANK YOU. I will make sure that you receive both lists.

For those of you with multiple rooms in your party, please let me know if you wish to have your group split up or if you all wish to remain as one group.

Also, please make sure that I have all of the pertinent information such as names, gender, ages (for children) and cabin number. For those who do not have cabin number, that's fine. Just let me know as soon as possible after you receive it.

For those who plan to and are fortunate enough to have a upgrade done at port, please either call my cabin or leave a note on my fish extender letting me know your new cabin number. I will then make those who need it receive it.

Lastly, it has also been requested that we have delivery dates. I can set this up, however, folks will need to let me know what day they would like to deliver. Remember, this is just for the DAY; you can deliver anytime that you wish. Also, you are not require to adhere to this at all. Some of the posters just feel that it would be nice if folks had something to look forward everyday. This is especially true for the kids and given that we are the cruise right before Halloween, it is not a bad idea.

I will make sure that you have the FIRST list by September 9th. I say FIRST because there WILL be changes. There are going to be a couple of new folks who wish to join, and that is ok. But, at some point there will be a cut-off and that absolute drop-dead date will be October 1st.

So you mean not only will we not get a pre list by Aug 11 like you had said you would, you are changing the cut off from Sept 5 to Oct 1?

I think the Sept 9 date was pushing it but if you are going to push it out to Oct 1 I am going to have to reconsider being a part of the FE. Those of us who have to ship boxes have to do so around Oct 8.

No, the cut-off date is still September 5th. However, because I know there will be folks dropping in later, I have made an absolute cut-off for October 1st. The first firm list will be out to everyone by September 11th.

I was under the impression you would not have a problem sending out a split up group list on Aug 11 per your previous post, about 3 weeks ago. You said you already had a master list made so this should not be a big deal to do.

Super Brenda:cheer2::) - thanks for organizing - really, as an organizer, it's always nice to have fellow planners around. I think we will do our two cabins as separate, since my mom is coming with us, it would be nice for her to get FE gifts and she is also making them for everyone as well in addition to my gifts - does that make sense? My cabin for me, Erin, DH Bret, DS Joshua 13, DS Caleb 10, and DD Josie 8, is 7544 and my mom's, Barb, is 7546 (now of course the kids will be hopping back and forth, but for the FE does it make sense to do it like this - sorry this is all new to me and we are so excited to participate!)

Thanks again!!! Erin

I'm now back from my one week getaway to central FL. Thought I'd share my experiences. They may assist others in some decision processes.

Flew JetBlue down Wed. to MCO, used Enterprise Rental for oneway to Cape Canaveral, place was deserted of people at MCO, no lines, but it was Wed. @ 3:30pm, folks very nice/pleasant there, first time I've used Enterprise, got upgraded to small Suv from Full size. So went from a possible Impala, Altima, Charger or similiar to a Toyota Venza. What a nice vehicle. Drove well, lovely dash lay out, huge wheels, and was also a beautiful odd teal color, which is good, all other choices were white.

For some reason I felt he was more willing to upgrade my vehicle because I was alone, it was a oneway, for one day, I signed up for their Plus Membership. I saw other families trying to pack mega bags and people into those Impalas, which appeared challenging.:scared1:

Employee did mention Fridays thru Sundays are total madness, so keep that in mind. The return in Cape Canaveral was the opposite of MCO ironically. We arrived Thursday @ 12 - 1 pm just as the shuttle from the port arrived at the small building. Two employees were behind the counter and twenty to thirty people in line. However, no one was in the "Plus" line, so I walked right up and was serviced within two minutes and completed within 7 minutes. Of course I was returning which I feel is less paper work than if you were picking up.:thumbsup2

If you are renting a car sign up for their membership / rewards online previous to travel . It could save a lot of time in lines. Some credit cards may offer benefits too.

Fwiw, we are using Avis in Oct. They offer "bypass line/counter" as long as a card is on file. Never used them either. We were Alamo previously. I will visit a local Avis office soon and physically log/scan my CC so we can bypass line in Oct. @ MCO. Enterprise doesn't offer bypass counter by the way.

Drove to Cocoa Beach using Bee Line. Saw "other ships" in port as arriving on barrier island. Arrived at hotel, where family was already established for days. Surprised kids on beach. They didn't know I was coming down. Set up on beach two spots south.(25 feet) They walked right past me of course going into water. I tried to emphasize myself on beach so they would notice me.... not. Decided to enter water and go way out and approach from the east. My oldest daughter eventually turned around and yelled DADDY. Well, I was in my regular, well known hat and sunglasses. It was a fun moment. My youngest daughter ran up to mom on the beach and said "Did you know Daddy's here?"
It was a Visa moment, priceless.:)
I actually did look into wigs and such, but figured I better not to leave permanent physiological scars on the young ones.

While at Cocoa Beach we did see many cruise ships. All sailing out obviously, who wants to get up at 6 am.:confused3 Anyway saw lots of Carnival, two RCCL, two others I'm embarrassed to admit I have no clue (NCL ?), and the DREAM sailing out Friday. WOW, what a sight. I've never seen the larger ships live somehow. I tried to stay up all night to see the Fantasy come in Sat. morning, but that failed. We saw the Fantasy from the usual distance from the Bee Line Saturday, but, as usual, were in a hurry, and had an excuse not to approach closer. Kids / hunger.
If I was without my family I would have camped at Jetty Park and stalked the port for the closest views / photos of the Fantasy. :lmao:

We did stop by the Dis Welcome Center and The Perfect Gift and chat a bit. We checked out the Dis gear for sale.

The most unforgettable experience however occurred back on the beach in Cocoa, not where the Fantasy docks. :lmao:We were on the beach at 10 pm hunting sand crabs with flashlights when we noticed something odd. We saw sand crabs, but then we noticed something else. Creatures darker, more like beetles, what could it be? It was baby sea turtles. There were hundreds of them scurrying around, trying to find the sea. It was amazing. We've spent thousands of hours on turtle laden beaches and have never seen this event. Only 8 people that night were fortunate to be in the right place, at the right time, to enjoy this unique experience. We had built large forts / sand castles which the turtles got stuck / trapped in. So of course my kids had a mission to accomplish - free the turtles. It gave them an excuse to pick them up from the deep holes they would never escape from, and carry them to the sea. It was an unforgettable experience for all present. And of course no cameras or video equipment was at hand.

It's interesting how the most amazing / memorable moments in my life continually fail to be captured on film. It almost makes me feel I should leave the recording devices in the room / at home.;)

I thought I was going to give a quick recap ... well ... this is super long.
Is there such a thing as a Pre Cruise Meet Review?
This may be way TMI .
Whatever, it is what it is.:goodvibes

Thank you for the great effort you are putting into the FE so we can all have fun!! I really appreciate it! Having multiple jobs and too little time, I really appreciate you doing this for us!

I love the idea of certain days. It has been my experience that if not set up-all the fun stuff is over by day 2, then as we come back to the room all the other days, the kids are disappointed that all the fun is done. (silly but still love being a kid at heart!)

Not to be snarky at all, honestly, but after reading many FE posts and discussions on this Meet Thread, I'm soooooo glad we decided not to participate, for many reasons :goodvibes
Main one being now, there is a hundred people possibly.

:goodvibes :goodvibes

While here discussing #'s, has anyone counted how many individuals may / could show at the Dis Meet onboard? In other words has anyone tried to count the individual souls on the first page in our cruise meet in totality?

Every time I try to count the total # of people in our Cruise Meet I get a different #, or it changes the next day. And by the way the # is large.;)

I have noticed on the other board people have been asking what is MNSSHP. To be helpful to those who don't know here we go.

MNSSHP is Mickeys not so scary Haloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. It happens each year for the month of Oct. It requires a seperate ticket. You can go in around 4:00Pm then at 6 or 7 the park closes to regular guests and the only way you are able to stay if you are wearing a MNSSHP braclet which you receive at the gate with your ticket.
The park stays open until around 1:00 am. All kinds of candy and food.
We have been and its a hoot. All employees are dressed up in Haloween garb.

Hi, Erin. THANK YOU! Yes, actually I understood you perfectly!! I will make that the FE post is updated. Your kids, and all the adults too, are going to have a lot of fun!!!

Hello.

Right now for the FE we have about 30 cabins participating with approximately 80 folks total. That is one of the reasons that the group will be split into two groups. That way, at the momemt least, there will be about 15 cabins per group.

Now, as far as the total changing, that is because I receive information periodically that changes the total. Folks have dropped out, others have joined, I received names that previously I didn't have, and so on. But, at any given moment, the total is as accurate as it can be. I am still waiting for some folks to respond to my PMs.

Regarding the DISmeet, I have absolutely no idea how many folks will be attending. This is kind of tricky because the first one at least is schedule right before we sail. Folks will be having lunch, unpacking if the are fortunate enough to have received their luggage already, checking out the ship and what not. Some just lose track of time or simply forget (I did that once, because we were late boarding, long story).

But you are correct; we have a LARGE group, which should make it all that much more fun!

Hope that answers some of your questions.

Yes, we are planning to attend on the 18th. We are taking an overnight flight on the 17th. Since I booked our rooms for the 17th, they should be ready when we arrive at the resort at 0 dark:30 the morning of the 18th.

We will then sleep/rest/catch a bite to eat. We may head to Downtown Disney, and then on to the Magic Kingdom.

This is kind of a sneaky way of doing two parks without buying a full 2-day ticket. Since we are DVC owners, we can purchase the MNSSHP tickets at a discount.

Then, will by tickets and go to Disney Studios on the 19th. My niece and i decided that that park might be the most enjoyable and easiest to tranverse for my mom. Plus, we both want to go to '50s Prime Time Cafe.
