For Alaska they enclosed the Signals bar and attached it to the cove coffee bar. It was our favorite place to hang out. The view was amazing and it was inside!! The stair case was right inside the cove's door by the pool.

Hi Everyone,

I know I am a little late to the party, but my DH and I are currently booked on this cruise. We are DVC members, and first time cruisers. We are SO excited for this cruise, it is literally all that I think about! We are currently booked in a category 6b, but it is GTY, so who knows where we'll end up. We requested 2nd dining.

We are from MI, and we are HUGE Michigan State fans (and alums!)

Our current BIG concern about the cruise is that the MSU vs. U of M Football game is that day. It will likely be a noon game, but maybe 3:30... We can't decide if we want to try to watch it or not. We figure that it will be good either way, cause if we win it will be awesome! and if we lose, no big deal! we're on a cruise!!!!

Hi Everyone! I am new to the board and wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm Binh Petit (my husband - Todd, and 2 girls (ages 7 and 4 by the time of the cruise) are super excited to experience our first cruise ever! We are from the SF Bay Area and look forwarding to meeting everyone.

We signed up for this cruise in May 2011, when we were on a 3 day cruise on the Dream. We choose that cruise because it put us on Castaway Cay on May 14, which is our anniversary and my birthday. I think I read that someone here (onecoolpilot?) was on that cruise too.

This cruise on the Fantasy was chosen because we wanted to do the Eastern itinerary, and this was the farthest out we could book it at that time. We thought all along that we might change it, but here we are with our flights booked, timeshare condos reserved before and after, and PIF. So we are definitely going on this cruise!

We just celebrated our second anniversary by taking the first DCL cruise to HI! (I believe I saw one or two posters here that were also on that cruise.) We are both seniors (DH Harry is 68, I'm 62), and we'll BOTH be retired by the time we cruise in Oct. (DH has been retired for almost 10 years and I am retiring Aug. 1.)

We were originally in an inside Cat 10, but had to upgrade to a Cat 4 to get an accessible room. This is my 11th DCL cruise, Harry's 10th, all together since we met in 2005, except for the one he cruised without me before then, and two I cruised before we met. We like the longer cruises. We did the inaugaral Panama Canal in 2005 and the inaugaral trans Atlantic in 2007, among others. We are also signed up to do the second 12 night Med cruise with Greece in July 2013.

We always do the main dining and DCL has always put us at a table with other adults, when we didn't have linked dining with a group. Looking forward to the new shows on the Fantasy and seeing some of the improvements they made to the ship based on guest comments on the Dream.

Hope this introduction was not too long, just that I feel I know quite a bit about you all from reading your posts, so thought I should tell you a bit about us. Will try to contribute here at least a couple times a week.

Hi Everyone!

I haven't checked in lately - but I can see everyone is starting to get more excited! Couple of first time FE gift questions if anyone can help....I am starting to think about making these over the summer with the kids.

1. So, some of the posts on the FE example threads show people doing a gift everyday, some just a few times throughout the cruise, some are to all the kids and adults, some to just the cabin - I guess my question is, what is the normal amount of gifts to give/ how often - do most people do a daily gift or 1 or 2 per cruise? Are you expected/supposed to give one to everyone in the cabin (for example if it's a Christmas ornament, one per family or one for each person?)?

2. We will have 2 cabins, me, DH, 3 kids, and grandma. Do we put a FE outside of each of our cabins or one for both? Do we put a name on each pocket? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I have spent hours reading through the FE example threads and just haven't found a clear answer.

3. Cabin changes - I read on one of the threads that cabin numbers often change on the first day - how do we get an updated list and when do people usually start delivering gifts, first full day, days at sea?

4. Brenda - thank you again for organizing. I see you usually do the cut off for FE gifts about 60 days out. Do we just print off the list then and take it with us for help delivering, etc. - again, I feel so 'new' to this and I have seen how much effort some people put into this and I don't want to fail at my first attempt!

Thank you. It's nice to hear that. As for the FE, once we have a cut-off date (and that WILL be the final date to join) I will send a list to all those who are participating. I would like to set a scheduled different people for different delivery dates. This way, everyone can have something to look forward to everyday. With the exception probably being the first night. This is to deal with last minute cabin changes. We had a problem with this the last time.

More will be posted on this a little later. Thanks again for the support.

I won't be using a cruise name no matter what the decision is (because I am cruising with another 35+ cabin group) so I am going to speak up here and say there will be no win on this if additional suggestions aren't added.

I am afraid the group is going to split up and I really don't want to see that happen. Everyone is getting along and seems to like each other, FE's are being organized and plans are being made. You suggested the first names in March of 2011 and most have joined this cruise after March 2012. Also
the first two names on the poll aren't even listed on the official suggestion list on the first page (post 5) so why not add a few more, extend the voting to July 4th and move on. If anyone has an issue on this ask don't just decide no.

Please, I have started to make friends with several on this group via here and on FB and I would hate to see discourse so close to the cruise over a simple thing but that is what will happen.

I haven't been involved in the name game till now. But I must agree with Eva Sue.
I will also add my two cents. Just now are the masses getting excited/involved. I will say now I would prefer a shorter name than in the poll. Do we really have to pick only one?

Well, we are drawing closer to the times when we'll all be making reservations for specialty dining, spa, excursions, cabanas and the rest.

Have you all decided what you're hoping to book? DH and I have looked at a few excursions, but haven't decided on any as of yet. This is our 1st visit to St. Maarten, and would like to see as much as possible, but we love to snorkel. Perhaps a great beach bar or 2 would be in order, and just make a fun day of it.

Do any of you who have been to these ports before have suggestions for a really fun day?

On another note, the name issue means little to me since we aren't talking about lots of matching shirts, lanyards, door signs, etc. I'll use something DH and I like if we do anything with a name. In as much as we enjoy other Dissers, it is, after all, our anticipation and planning, our trip and our memories. It should be special and meaningful to us.

We are going to Loterie Farm in St Maarten to do the Extreme Fly Zone, and we are SooOOOOoo excited for that! Then on to Orient beach. We're still a little torn about St Thomas, but I want to at least make a quick stop to the aquarium and butterfly farm, since they are walking distance, and then we are still uncommitted for the rest of the day! Maybe up to Paradise Point for some hiking and then a cold one! I hope they still do the parrot show.

We are thinking about renting a car. Of course we are diving with Ocean Explorers. The beach bar of choice is Sunset Beach Bar. ( Same as where we live!) Best beach is Mullet Bay. Orient Beach is the best beach for naked people. Best restaurant is Lee's Roadside Grill or Pineapple Petes. Going to try to do them all. You guys in for any? Mr. Busby's is also a great Beach bar. I'm running out of time that day. I am ready to go.

St. Thomas --diving with the St. Thomas Dive Club. Then who knows Never been to St. Thomas. Got any must dos

CC- parasail DH + DD11, Sting rays DW + DD6. Hopefully time for a touch of window shopping after those. We are simple folks. I wanted to more, but after typing just that out, it sounds like alot to me. We like to relax if at all possible.

Can you tell me more about snorkeling with turtles? I don't remember seeing that anywhere.
