October 20, 2005 Wonder

Hope everyone has a great time and stays safe.

Due to several factors, including illnesses and the hurricane, we were forced to postpone our cruise. We're disappointed, but it was the right decision under the circumstances. Hopefully we'll be in a better position to go on the rescheduled date.

Sorry we won't get to meet those that are going this time around.

So did we all have a great time?

YES!!!! And 3 days isn't enough time! I didn't have time to see anyone other then my family. :flower: Or do to do even half the activities I wanted to do! :goodvibes Dh and I had to remind ourselves that next time we'll have 10 days! :flower:

We were on late dinner rotation APT. We had a table to ourselves (#31). 4dd cried & cried Saturday night when she realized that we had to go home the next day. :goodvibes she told us (between tears) that she wanted to live on the cruise ship. :rotfl2: She loved the kids club. She went there Friday evening for a little bit and then on SAturday for an hour or so at Scuttles Cove then later back on the ship she wanted to stay there. She did come out and eat dinner with us but, had me take her back to the kids club before our dinner was over. :)

If anyone was at the 6:15 Disney Dreams (near the lower middle section) I was the woman with a boy (7 ds) that had an irate male screaming at me -- *You stupid, freaking woman. What don't you understand about me researving the entire row.* It must have gone on for over 5 minutes (dh & 14 dd were getting snacks & drinks) and then the man dumped an entire frozen drink in the seat next to mine so that we couldn't use it. What a WHACKO!
I don't imtimidate easily. :goodvibes He had an infant in his arms for most of his tirade. The one time when there wasn't a CM around....
BTW- NONE of the people that he *reserved* those seats for sat in them. :rotfl: :rotfl: DH thought maybe they saw him screaming at me and didn't want to be associated with him. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
14dd told me that he was the man that she had seen the night before (when she was on her way to Aloft) yelling at his wife. :sad2:

Oh my goodness. I was at the 6:15 show and I didn't hear any of that. We were near the back on the left(if you're looking at the stage). Wow, why are some people so crazy? And can't you even control your craziness for 3 days? We loved it also, and decided to do a longer cruise next time. I can't believe how lucky we got with weather.my kids loved the lab & club. We had late dinner 8:30 and our rotation was PTA. We also were at a table by ourselves. I really wanted to do the bridge tour, but didn't get a chance to. My DD9 did with the Oceaneer lab, but all she said was that there were alot of buttons. When we got to Nassau, we got off of the ship for about 20 min. and then decided it was nicer on and went back. We stayed on the beach at Castaway Cay for a few hours. Time seems to go so fast on vacation. We are planning for another trip, but it's hard. I don't want to take my DD9 out of school anymore(she's in 4th grade now and had so much work to take & make up that it's getting hard on her). I'd really like to do a week at Disney and then a 7 day cruise, maybe in June when school gets out for her. I don't know but I will figure out. Glad you had fun.

LOL! NO kidding! :goodvibes We had sat on the left the other two shows and 7ds had asked me if we could sit in the middle section for the last one. During Golden Mickey's dh had to get take 4dd out after the villians came onstage.... Which is why 4dd wouldn't even come to Disney Dreams. I told her the Princesses would be there. :flower: After the yelling wacko, I'm glad she was in the Club.
Nassau -- after we (7ds, 14dd & myself) finished the aquarium tour I was happy to go back onboard! We tried to shop near the ship but, the music was so LOUD. It annoyed me. :teeth: So, we went back onboard & ate lunch (pizza) and I watched ds swim while 14dd went to on the Thriller Powerboat tour with the teen group. DH & 4dd got back around 3 or so from the Dolphin Encounter.

I know what you mean about school stuff. We homeschool but, our kids take a couple of outside classes. And missing a week of Biology & Algebra have nearly done 14dd in! DH had wanted to stay another week but, i told him that his dd might have a heart attack if she missed that much class time.. :)

I had considered homeschooling my kids at one point. Actually, I still toss the idea around in my head. It sure would make vacationing easier, LOL! I was homeschooled for a period of time, but I was an only child. I think it would be alot more difficult with 3 children. How was the aquarium? It was the Atlantis aqaurium right? We had originally booked that tour, but cancelled b/c I didn't want to have anything planned this time around. After a totally scheduled 5 days at Disney World, I wanted our ship time to be more leisurely. If it was good though, we'll have to check it out next time.

We've been homeschooling for quite a while now -- 16yrs. When our oldest started 4th grade. One of the reasons was so that we could travel with my dh. He doesn't travel very much for work anymore but, homeschooling has been great for us!

It was the Atlantis aquarium. I didn't make the reservations until we got on the ship. Since dh & 4dd were going to be gone nearly the whole day -- Dolphin Encounter -- we (7ds, 14dd & myself) decided to do something together. It was a very nice excursion. We had a good guide, etc.....
We had thought about scheduling a Stingray thing on CC but, decided to have 1 day with nothing that was a *have to do*. :)

We were a bit worried about the rescheduling because the weekend that we were supposed to go (ie. when you went) was the only weekend we were originally allowed to take the prize cruise that wouldn't require us to take our children out of school. Pretty bad considering it was our daughter that won the cruise in the first place. However, the circumstances being what they were, Disney has allowed us to reschedule our cruise for their Spring Break week (end of March/beginning of April). It still set me back $140 for the change, but that time of year should work out well for us.

Sorry it took so long for me to respond to you. My company is closing the office that I work from and wanting us to move to New Jersey to work from Morristown. We took a trip up that way to get a feel for the area and the housing costs. Based on what we saw, it looks like I'll be looking for another job in the local area instead.

Well I have to say that I am a life long Jersey Girl and if you did move, you would love it here. We get such a bad rep here, but I wouldn't want to live in any other state (well maybe Florida). It can be expensive, and I think Northern NJ is worst thsn South where I live. I'm glad things worked out with your rescheduling. It must be nice to be looking forward to a cruise shortly. We're planning on 2007! Have fun
