October 19th Cruisers again and again... Part 2

Denine, Ted and I used to canoe every weekend before the girls. We would take our dog with us and just enjoy tranquility. My dog loved to go. He would get so excited. I was nervous when the beavers would "bump" the canoe but he never barked or jumped in the water. We would love to start canoeing again. It certainly is a plus when people start to see the weight loss. It took FOREVER for people to say anything to me (except for my family). Now it is a blast to see everyones reactions. Good for you! How much have you lost now? Sure hope that tree comes in time for you!

I got the townhome!!!!! :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :thewave:

He made a counter offer and I accepted. I signed it and faxed it and it will be all mine on APRIL 29th!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL!!! The big 4-0!!!! :bounce: :bday:

Heidi is a brand new homeowner! Congrats! Now the real fun begins...decorating!

Well, Jerry won, I called off for tomorrow. It wasn't an easy decision, but I am exhausted. I haven't slept well for a week and now I have a tickle in my throat. Jerry is still going to work from home. He wants to watch the Pope's funeral at 4 AM. He is usually up at 4:30, so it isn't a stretch for him.

I was too tired to make dinner. I took a nap after I signed off this afternoon.

CONGRATS TO HEIDI!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :thewave: :cool1:

I've very happy for you!!! I like to help people move too. I don't mind packing and moving myself either AS LONG as I have the time and NO ONE to bother me. (like that is going to happen if we move in the future! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAUL!!!!!

I hope he has a great day!! I too have 3 missing posts!! I posted a birthday greeting for Paul, a good luck for Turner and great news for your brother, but they are all missing! :confused3

Garry (the workaholic) has had a lot A LOT of back pain lately. We are waiting for the x-ray results to see if he has a fracture in his back. Otherwise its time for the MRI. Did I tell you guys that the Big Guy has get inserts for his shoes? He has to go get fitted next Thursday. He is really flat footed and he has weak ankles and when he walks for a long period of time, he begins to roll his ankles. His left is worse then his right. This explains the few times he was limping and said his foot hurt. We took him to the doctor the first time and they said there was nothing wrong. SO after the third time he was limping, I took him to the orthopedic doctor(sp) and that's when they took x-rays and ordered the inserts. So we have that going on here.

Denine, glad to see that you are on the mend. When do you come back for HH? We will probably have Makenzie's birthday in the beginning of May. I'll let you know.

Barb, I think that it's the weather causing people to act the way they are acting. Garry says there are a lot of domestic violence and bar fights lately. Yesterday we had 77 degree weather and today we are at 46 degrees! Go figure!

Well, gotta go. I'll be back later!

Got to see my brother and he looks wonderful, considering. He is up in a chair and took a short walk with me. I can not believe how quick they have him up and how great he is looking. I feel like so much stress has been relieved today.

Turner had his CT scan and they said we should hear something in 24 to 48 hours. Since tomorrow is Friday, I won't be surprised if we don't hear until Monday. So, he continues to take Tylenol and it doesn't work.

We had a nice dinner at Macaroni Grill for Paul's birthday. I am stuffed and I didn't even eat all my dinner.

Congrats on the townhome, Heidi!! I am so happy for you.

Have a great trip to HH, Denine. I hope you feel better soon and get a lot of rest on vacation.

Later!

Last night was a HORRIBLE night!!! I left work at 3:00 to go pick up Taura at her mom's house, got there around 3:30. We packed my Pathfinder and attempted to drive to her new apartment, it took us 2 hours to get to a place that should take 30-45 minutes and thats IN rush hour. We ran into her husband at the complex because he arrived at the same time (5:30) and he told us that he had to run to the Uhaul place to get the car dismounted from the dolly so they could open the back of the truck to start unloading. The Uhaul place is about 15 minutes away, so we figured an hour and they would be back. 7:30 passes and we start to get worried, we are bored out of our minds because we have nothing to unpack, nothing to do and no radio or TV...we decide murphy's law and if we leave they will show up so we went to Target and Home Depot. 8:30 which is 3 hours later and we start to worry and panick and decide to try and go find him.....2 night blind people looking for a uhaul, thank god we crossed paths and we found him. Her husband couldn't find the place so he went to another place and by the time he got there is was closed and he had to dismount the car without Uhauls help like they told him!!! He was a little grumpy!!!

I am a little tired today!!!! It has been beautiful weather for the last 3 days and the time I go up to the mountain it is supose to have a possible blizzard, only my luck. I guess if I can drive in the last blizzard with my little nissan sentra without 4wd, I can definitely drive it in my Nissan Pathfinder~~~hopefully I won't have to try and the weather will hold out until I get down....my mom is panicking now!!!!

Mom - I WILL be home for dinner today. I plan on leaving around 7:00 tonight.

I swear I am going to start building an ark :boat: & collecting two of every animals :cat: :cat:

PAUL: Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Paul. Happy Birthday to you. :bday:

TURNER: Hope you feel better soon! :hourglass

HEIDI: How exciting. You're a homeowner. Settlement April 29th - nice & fast! Best of luck in your new home. :shamrock:

The "boys" are here & I took them to the park in the pouring rain & I am still "damp" even though I had on a raincoat & boots :umbrella:. I tried to get on the computer :badpc: last night but Comcast must have had some problems because we couldn't get a connection. Joyce is working today & I am hoping she will call & say "IT'S A LOS AMIGOS NIGHT" :drinking1 Work has been SOOOO busy that you just don't get a break. Whatever happened to birth control?

Miss you all. :grouphug: We need Julie (our Cruise Director) to arrange a "Reunion". Can't you all come to Las Vegas or can't we all come to Colorado? Joyce & I are still contemplating a little first week of December in Disney :earboy2: - think about it. Have a great day. I know your weather has to be better then New Jersey's. Toodles  :genie: JEANNE

Happy Friday!!

Yeah Heidi we made it. This has been an extremely long week!

Happy birthday Paul!

Denine have fun on your mini trip. Sounds like fun. Why do you cook and pack so much food? Do you not eat out at all? Do they have a kitchen where you are going?

Nice weather today but snow again this weekend. We have to clean out our pond soon. UGH! It is so much work getting the water out. :fish:

Barb ::MickeyMo

Morning guys,

Julie, the Big Guy will be much more comfortable now in this orthotics. Glad that you didn't take the "nothing is wrong" decision! Tell Garry that the Van Horns send pixie dust his way.

Jeanne, you guys must be getting a lot of rain. We did a few days ago. But we needed it. Being we can't afford to go anywhere for a reunion I vote for Colorado!!! Give Joyce a hug from us and tell her we miss her.

Susan, keep us posted on Turner! Macaroni Grill, huh? I haven't been there for a long time. Do you have a favorite entree? We usually go to Johnny Carino's if we go that route.

Better run. I have to weigh in and don't want to so I am stalling.

Barb you are so right!!!! We finally made it to Friday, thank goodness!!!

Just got back from a luncheon. My coworker that mentored me is leaving and moving to DC, I am going to miss her so much.

I second Jeanne - Group reunion in Colorado!!!!!

Happy Friday!

Barb: I didn't used to make stuff for thr trip, but since we drive, we like to eat and since we are on WW, that limits our choices on a 14 hour trip. I make the stuff so that I know it is healthy and how many points we are eating. We will make food in our kitchen at the resort, mostly breakfast. We will go out to eat a couple of times.

Heidi: Too bad aobut last night! I hope you don't get a blizzard this weekend.

Julie: We will be home Friday or Saturday. Hope the Big Guy's feet and Garry's back feel better soon. How does April 30th sound as a get together? Let me know.

Jeanne: I understand about the rain. We are finally getting some decent weather.

Sue: Hoping for good news about Turner. Sounds like your brother will be good as new! What did you have at Macaroni Grill? We like their food.

Jerry is the sweestest husband. He gave me a card and 2 Easter chocolate eggs for today. One was even sugar-free. He also made french toast for breakfast.

I didn't go in to work, so I slept in. I also took a nap. We bought some whisky so I can have some 7&7's to help me sleep. The codeine cough syrup just isn't helping. For that matter, I don't know if the ATB's are working completely. I will still be on them for another week. The problem is, I can't breathe at night, so I breathe through my mouth which becomes the consistency of cotton. So, I can't sleep.

We bought some compost, but will have to wait till tomorrow for the tree. I hope no later. I just want to get outside and work in my yard. But, it has to wait until after our trip and until I feel better.

I will be on tomorrow at some time. We have packing to do although I did pull out some stuff today.

Happy Belated Birthday Paul!!!

Wow!!! You're young!!! I would give my eye teeth (no, I still have those!) to be 40 again.

Congrats Heidi!
No more cruises for you sweetie!! You're a homeowner now. Want me to come help you move? I could take a 3 day weekend and use my voucher!

Julie-how is your dad doing? The big guy is in good company...I have very flat feet!

Sue glad to hear your brother is doing better. I hope the CT is negative on Turner.

Cindy my harp teacher got a new puppy from Tennesee...an Airdale...sooooo cute! And smart! But boy did I give it to her! She named it Barney!! I told that is not a name for a dog like that!! Angus, Stewart, McDoogle, even Elliott (my maiden name.) But not Barney. What a good puppy though. 11 weeks old and already a foot + high!

I WANT a puppy too. Airdales are so cute.

Denine, take me with you. PLEASE. If I don't get back on... Have a blast and think of all of us doing our daily chores while you are enjoying life.

We are to get that snowstorm that Heidi was telling you about starting tonight around 11:00. What Heidi didn't tell you is that she is actually going UP in the mtns so she will have to drive home in the middle of a big snowstorm from the mtnx. Crazy and fearless girl. At least there is a few of them going. Not sure how many and who are driving.

I woke up early so am heading out to Ted's dads house. Ted was "appointed" to do his taxes. Appointed was my choice of nice terms. TOLD is a better word. After a couple of months of telling his dad that he would help and to get things ready, his dad tells his sister that Ted is going to do his taxes. He can't find anything for them. It has turned out to be a huge ordeal.

Have a great day!

Day 3 for my brother turned out to be a rough one. They said that was normal. He had a lot more pain and nausea. He still looks good though. I'll be going to see him later today.

No word from Turner's CT scan yet. His says his head still hurts.

Have agreat trip, Denine. I hope you get lots of sunshine on your trip.

No Los Amigos last night because I worked 7 PM- 7 AM (really need the money). I am SOOOOOOO :faint: tired right now since the dogs won't let me sleep & they were bad at the park this morning. Even the good one Dodger didn't feel like listening so I am ignoring both of them.

DENINE: Have a great time!

SANDY & HEIDI: Snow? :cold: :cold:

Just wanted to say a "Good Morning". The rain has finally stopped & the sun :sunny: is out. It could be a little warmer but I am NOT complaining! Hope you all have a nice weekend. Miss you all. :grouphug: Toodles  :genie: JEANNE

Just came back from visiting with my brother. He is having a much better day today and took a hall walk. His BP is a little high but otherwise the Dr. is happy with how he is progressing. I actucally got to sit back in the room with him just the 2 of us for about an hour. We talked about all kinds of things. I told him I would be back again tomorrow.

It is so nice here today. We have had scattered rain for the past 3 days and today is bright and sunny. Everything is beginning to get so green. I know spring is here to stay now!

Hope everyone is having a great day and weekend.

Later!

Sue: Your brother will really be on the mend now!

Heidi: Be careful!

We got our tree today and it is planted. It came dormant and bare root, but is a good size, about 4' tall. It is supposed to grow to 10' in 5 years and bloom next spring. Right now, it looks like a stick in the ground!

We are mostly packed and ready to go. Kaleigh still needs a bath and more things will get packed later. Bought her a couple of new small toys for the trip. She LOVES the FP Little People! It is soo cute listening to her play with them. She lowers her voice to speak as the kids.

The weather is supposed to be nice in HH. Kaleigh and I need the warmth and sun to get over what ails us.

I tried on my pink halter incentive dress and it not only zips now, but I don't look half bad in it. I WILL be wearing it on the cruise.

We will be up very early tomorrow (3 AM) to get out of here.

Jeanne: More power to you for working those extra night shifts.

Sandy: At least you should get some snow for your yard.

Bonnie: I agree. Barney is no name for such a dog!

Until next weekend!

Everyone stay healthy and safe!

Good afternoon all.

It is cold and snowing. So far, they say we have over a foot and Patrick on the East Coast heard we had 21 inches. Heidi and i just shoveled and he may be right. Ted left to snow plow. I heard Bonnie had her sliding glass door open and Susan is bragging about it being bright and sunny. Come on guys, have some compassion!

Denine, with you talking about FB Little People, it brought back happy memories. Our girls loved them too. Gee, why do they have to grow up?

Heidi was a smart girl and didn't stay up in the mtns. They all got wise and came down last night.

We ventured out this morning for our Sunday brunch at our local Mexican restaurant. It was pretty slow but things started to pick up a little. The driving isn't treacherous. Just tons of water and slush on the main roads and the side roads are snowpacked and rutty.

Bonnie, I am going to send you the pin design and the Survivor logos. Let me know if you get them ok. By the way, Barbara gave me a COOL compliment and title for the sisterhood. She made me feel soooooooo good.

BUUUURRRRR It's cold out here!!!!!! So far they say we have 14 inches and it has been about 2 hours since I heard the last total of accumulation.

Bonnie - I would LOVE for you to take a long weekend and come help me. (I really don't have much to move though, I think I can have it done in one truckload of my dad's truck, probably won't even fill half of it!!!...but you can help me paint!!!!!) I would love to see you.

Yes I know I am fearless when it comes to the snow, but I just love it SOOOO much!! I love to drive in snow, especially now with my 4wd, but I assure you am a very safe driver in the snow.

Susan - glad to hear about the progress of your brother.

Denine - Have fun at HH, enjoy the sun and relaxation.

Sally/Barb - How is the snow down there at your end of town? Are you snowed in? I heard that I-25 was closed at Monument Hill.
