October 19, 2008 4 day Bahama - anyone else?

IAFigment-- we've been looking into the Atlantis day-trip as well, booking a room at the Comfort Suites. Have you done this before? It looks like we can get a room for what DCL is charging for 1 adult to do the waterpark adventure at the Atlantis.

Normally we don't even get off the ship, but DH saw the web site for the water park-- and he was sold!

Cheers,
Pam

I just made reservations this morning for the 4 of us + my Mom to do the Caribbean Queen snorkeling excursion. Has anybody done that one? I had thought about doing the Comfort Suites room + waterpark, but I figure we'll most likely do one of the water parks with the kids when we are on the land portion of our trip, so I chose snorkeling. The water park at Atlantis looks amazing, though! You are going to have a blast!

What about Castaway Cay? Anyone doing excursions? I had hoped to spend the day swimming, reading and watching the boys play in the sand but am still open to ideas! I remember on our first (and only) Disney cruise, my then 3 year old son thought those big outdoor showers were the coolest thing he'd ever seen. So we went on a long walk, looking for all the showers. Easy to entertain, LOL!

Tiggerhappy,
I have not dont this before. My first cruise. but I even called that Comfort Suites and they said that yes you can check in and out at the same time and that yes you will get all the privaleges at Atlantis. They said they have about 60 other people doing the same thing.

I have always wanted to go to Atlantis and this would out really great. Must cheaper. I'm so exicted.

Maybe we will have to have a DIS area for everyone.

I chose to do the snorkeling at Castaway Cay...I can't wait. I just bought an underwater camera for the event..;)

See if you can test it out first in the tub or something. I bought one for SCUBA on our last cruise and I took a couple of test shots, no problem. In the water, it was broken. I was so sad to miss those shots. On the other hand, I was so bad at SCUBA I probably needed to using all of my attention on that anyway! :rotfl2:

Hi...who did you go thru for your Comfort reservation? I have read the closer you get to October the cheaper the rates get...would you mind sharing with me what rate you got? THANKS!

I am also interested in doing the fish extender thing...I know my 4 year old would love it!
Well we did it. I got my DSis to call and get our reservation worked out. There was something wrong with it and actually though we were doing a double dip. I told her we would take one if they gave it to us. :rolleyes1

But we did get the Palo reservations for the day at sea. I though that would be a nice why to end the cruise.

We also got the first stingray adventure time at Castaway Cey. I'm so excited.

We also got a reservation at Comfort Suites in Naussa for the 20th. So we will be doing Atlantis. We got a really good deal this way and I'm so excited because I have always wanted to go there.

And we switched from first to second dinner seating because we want to make sure we have plenty of time at Atlantis.

I'm so excited!!! Any one else want to share plans?

What's every one thing about the fish extenders? I can make one if people are wanting to do this. Sounds like fun.

And are we going to try and meet?:grouphug:

Do they not get to eat with their friends on the DCL cruises? We did a cruise on Carnival in January and on our 3rd night my dd asked to go to Camp Carnival and come to find out you could send them to Camp Carnival and go eat in the dining room with your dh and they could eat with their friends! Win WIN!! I was hoping this would be the case on DCL too...How old are your children? My dd is 4 1/2!

We're not doing dining this trip...last cruise was a nightmare with trying to get the girls to sit through the dinner service. After 2 meals in the dining rooms, we decided to just eat room service. So they better get that room service menu ready, cause where coming again....:lmao:

Yes, they offer dinner in the kids programming areas, we signed ours up once the last time we cruised with Disney. I'm sure we'll do it once this time around, too. Maybe split it between the boys so each gets a night out with the grown ups on their own. Here is a schedule from the daily navigator to give you an idea of the kids programming. My boys will be 9 and 6 at the time of cruise:

I'm sure your 4 1/2 year old DD will love the Oceaneer Club!

She loveeeed Camp Carnival and asked to go back all the time...thanks so much for the link! We might do Atlantis on our Nassau day and I am bummed that the do si do with Snow White is at 2 when we will not be on the boat...and the wendy activity is at 3...I don't see how we would make it back for that

I had to laugh at your post...that would be me, I'd be busy drowning, but still trying to use my camera. Thanks for the tip, I will try it at home. Maybe in the pool later just to see if I can breathe and take a photo at the same time...I am a blonde you know...:lmao:

My girls are 5 and 6. They are well behaved most of the time, but the dinner service is just too long for us. I have even asked them if the girls can be served sooner, but nope. It didn't happen. Since I'm traveling alone with them, I want to avoid all possible meltdowns...:lmao:

A Dis meet at 3pm by the Mickey Pool works for us-- but I can't say that I won't show up with an umbrella drink :thumbsup2

Cheers!

I'm a strawberry smoothie drinker myself. mmmmmmm. I think one of our cruises we drank one a day. We packed on the lbs. that trip. :scared:

I'm hoping to be good this time. :rotfl2: (that'll happen )

Won't be long... we'll all be doing the doc dance.   :woohoo:

Is anyone on our cruise interested in doing the Fish Extenders? I am and need to start planning if we are going to do it...

Hey Everybody!!!
Just checking in again....it's getting closer and we can't wait. We would be interested in the fish extender thing too. I just looked up the directions on how to make them and I will add that to my list. I am still determined to do magnets and t-shirts!

I haven't done it before but it sounds like fun...just keep me posted as to how many, locations, and what kinds of stuff and what days...that's it..LOL

Just checking in as we get closer and closer to the big day.

We have all of our arrangements made and are counting the days until we cruise. I hope everyone is ready for their trips.

My plan is to do them. I did for our last trip. Things are a bit hectic though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the extra time fairy will stop by our house! :goodvibes
