We are a family of 6 in two staterooms. We've been on several Disney cruises, we are DVC members and looking forward to our first Dream cruise on 10/18. I can't wait to see the new boat and experience everything she has to offer.

I look forward to "talking" to you all for the next 118 days, then in person!

Hi Randy Welcome!

Do you want to participate in the FE exchange as well? Let us know. Your family is going to love the ship! This may be the way you spend your vaction club points every year.

We have used DVC points for several cruises. Unfortunately cruises are "point expensive". You get much better value staying at the resorts. To compare, we could have stayed in a 2 BR villa at OKW for over 2 weeks for the points of the 3 night, 2 stateroom cruise. We could have used less points if we had selected an interior stateroom but we splurged. I have decided not to sleep from the moment we set foot on the boat until we disembark. That way, I get the most out of my points

Hello everyone :)
New to this forum thing so bear with me.

I will be going on a 3 day Disney Dream cruise for my girlfriends mother's 65th birthday! And it just so happens that it also will be my 2nd Anniversary of the day I met my love of my life (not married yet...but she's pushing lol)

Any advice, questions or warm greetings welcomed.

PS. It would be nice to make friends before the cruise date so the wait will be less torturous and to make the time go by quicker. I never been on a cruise in my life! So for the past week or so I been doing steady research on everything I could dig up! So happy I found this GREAT site!

I am hoping this "community" is talkative and friendly :)

Hi Ken! Welcome to the Disboards. You won't find a friendlier group of people. You will find someone will answer any question you may have very quickly. There are several threads about tips, packing, and what to expect. My advice is check out youtube videos. It helps me deal with the torture of waiting. I think I will know that ship like the back of my hand by the time we board. This is our first time on the Dream but our 3rd Disney cruise. I love them! You will have an awesome time. What floor are you on? Are you going to participate in the FE exchange?

My DH and I hope to! We are "training" for it now. I have tried it twice before, but wasn't able to finish. It was on a double dip last June- I blame it on the heat! ::yes:: :rotfl2:

I am "training" as well. :yay: I have finished 2 this year. I am NOT a runner. My girlfriends are trying to get me to do the Princess half Marathon next year. I plan to attempt the CC 5K but I'm worried about the heat. No one else in my party is willing to do it with me.

Thanks Toy for your friendly responce :)

Off hand I can't tell you what room I am in...have nothing in front of me while at work.

About FE thing. I read about that "fish" thing and it does sound like fun but I am in a "inside" non state room (AKA: The cheap one lol). So don't know if I have a fish outside it.

Since we want to make this trip special I was thinking of splurging and doing Remy's Restaraunt. Has anyone been there and if so what do you recomend is the "best" dish to get?

(Thinking out loud: "would be a nice place to propose to her :flower3: but I can't afford the ring she wants yet and I still think it is too soon!"....but i don't know when I will have the money for somehting like this again. Going on this 3 day cruise then spending a week doing Disney and Universal! Another place I have not been yet.)

Hi Ken and welcome. this forum is a wealth of information but don't hesitate to ask any question you may have to our particular thread. We'll do our best to answer you. As this is our first cruise on the Dream, we'll be eating at Remy's too. I made our on line reservation at 12:01 Wednesday morning.

So this will be our first Disney Cruise, so excited about the FE project and wanted to be added to the list! We are traveling with friends and will have four 3 year olds and two 4 year olds, plus a 6 year old for good measure. Yikes! Hoping the FE project adds to the fun. We are in 10116 and 10118, plus another cabin I can update later. Just need to make sure all the friends want to do it too. How many people are participating so far? It's just one gift per FE cabin right? Not one per child? Any info on this would be helpful.

The Fe is totally up to you. Some people do individual gifts while others do a gift for the cabin. Search on the main cruising board and there are tons of treads about it. Its up to you how you want to do your gifts. Please let us know the breakdown of who will be in each cabin so we can add you to the list.

Kim

For sure we have in 10116 Lynda (myself),my husband Troy, son Talon (4) and daughter Sophia (3). I will let you know later about the other 2 cabins. Do you have a count so far? Sept 1st is cutoff?
Thanks for organizing all this! Lynda

For the Fish Exchange do you have to be in a state cabin or can the inside/cheap cabins paticipate too?

For the non new people (unlike myself =P) that got to experiece Remy Restaraunt what is the best dish to get and what did you think of the restaraunt? Was it worth the money?

Been seeing a lot of creative usernames so to fit in I may be changing my self to "KidAtHeart (Ken)" if not already taken. :yay:

115 days! I can't wait! :yay:

Keeping a secret for me is not easy especially when trying to plan. We have told the kids we are going on a trip to look at forts. ha ha. Good to see the boards picking up a bit.

What is the deadline for FE?

Ken, any one can participate in the FE. All are welcome. My room is the cheapest that will fit 5 people.;)

Kim

In the process of typing up my 5 pages of writen notes about this cruise, Disney, and Universal.

Hopefully soon once that is done my girl and I will sit down and plan our vacation out and start reserving restaraunts and shows. :woohoo:

I forgot to give you guys our cabin information! It will be me (Lynne) and DH (Chris) in cabin 7684. This is a short cruise to celebrate our 15th anniversary. No kids this time- woo hoo!!!! We are going to snorkel when in Nassau and spend the day on the adult beach at Castaway Cay- neither of which we have been able to do before because of our sweet children! I also hope that we BOTH will run the 5k on Castaway Cay. I really want to, but don't know about DH. I'm working on him!

Can't wait to see you all on the cruise- I wish October would hurry up and get here! :dance3:

What is the 5K....and how do you sign up?

What is the 5K....and how do you sign up?

It is a 5K run (3.2 miles) that some people do when we dock at Castaway Cay. You get off the ship early (the Navigator will tell you what time) and run a concrete path around the island. You don't have to sign up- you just show up at the time the Navigator tells you to! I have done it twice and loved it, even though I didn't do well! :lmao: But, I enjoyed myself and that is all that matters, right?
