Just trying to pass some time while we wait the 700+ days till the cruise.
we are a family of four and this will be the second cruise for DW and me, first for DD8 and DS4. We will most likely spend the prior 4-5 days at Disney World.

Stop by and say hi if you are going on this cruise. Look forward to meeting fellow cruisers.

Jim

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Have a great cruise!

Hi All!

We just booked and this will be the first cruise for us.(DH +me) We are WDW regulars but now our boys are grown up so we are taking some much deserved alone time. This cruise is to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I'm a little bit nervous about seasickness but other than that I'm really excited. We are planning to head to WDW after the cruise to finish off our celebratory vacation. We have a stateroom on Deck 10.

Hi OaksPAC,

We just did our first cruise ever on the Dream for our 10 year anniversary last Sept. My wife had fears of seasickness and claustrophobia. We rebooked on-board based on the experience. No issues with either.
Enjoy the adults time, we did!!!
As a treat, you may want to think about the one-day spa pass. Allows access to all the facilities, including the heated stone loungers.

Hi Jim!

Thanks for the info, its always reassuring to read a great review. I know that we are going to fall in love with DCL and my that my seasickness worries will quickly be forgotten. That spa pass sounds fantastic, I will definitely look into it.

Thanks again!

Pam

Thinking of booking this cruise while on my first cruise in October of this year.. If I book I'll be back to see who all is going.. seems pretty quite here, but I know that will pick up..as the date gets closer. Julie

Joining in! My DH, 2 kids, mom, and sister are booked on this cruise! We will be at WDW starting on 10/12!

Hi Cindieanne-Welcome aboard. We will hopefully be in the World beginning the evening of the 11th.

Jim

So glad I found this thread! We'll be joining u guys and were so excited. We have Adjoining cabins on deck 8. One with me, DH, DS 7, and DS 6. ( at time of cruise). We're all first timers! Then my mom, dad, sis, and grandma will be in other room. They've all cruised before but not Disney! I'd love any tips or hints! I'm pretty nervous about taking the boys at this age but I think it'll be fine. We're wdw veterans and wanted to try something new. Can anybody explain how the fish extender works? I've read some but still unsure. How do u know how else is doing it? Thanks!!

We are looking forward to our return trip on the Dream. First was in March 2011 so it was basically brand new. We wanted to return quicker but my twin daughters insisted that we wait until the were old enough to go into the Edge tween club! Third Disney Cruise for my wife and I, second for daughters 13, 11, and 11.

Anyone else from MN cruising? Most schools are closed on Oct 17 & 18 for state teacher conference.:cool1:

Yes! I'm a teacher from MN- live not too far from you!

I'm here. I'm cruising with my sister and 2 BFF's for our annual girlfriend weekend getaway. This will be our 3rd DCL cruise. We did Wonder in 2010 and Dream last year. No guys, no kids, we always have a great time! Last year was the first time we participated in the FE...someone else on the roll call kept track and managed the list of people who wanted to play along. I'm not volunteering for the job, it takes a fair bit of organization skills, which I lack, lol. How it works is...there's a list gathered of the people who want to participate, along with their cabin numbers and how many family members they have, and ages/sex of the kids if applicable. Small gifts are given by each participating cabin to all the others. What you decide to give is totally up to you. I've gotten sweets, handmade trinkets, souvenir items from the givers hometown, and some toys for,the kids, anything really, it's all for fun. The first time we did it the group was huge, and it made delivering everything a challenge. Last time they split the group when we hit 20 cabins I think. There was a cutoff date about a month before sailing to join, this was supposed to help anyone who was purchasing expensive gifts or making something that was time consuming. The gifts are delivered to the cabins at the givers convenience, but usually not the last night so everything can get packed. If there is anyone staying in a suite, their gifts are left at guest services in a marked package for them to deliver to the "gated community". Confused yet? :rotfl: It is fun, but like I said you do have to be a bit organized. I goofed up the few I had to keep track of, so I don't want to ruin it for everyone.

I am so very close to getting this cruise booked. It has taken so long to find dates that work for all the schedules I have to consider but I think I finally found the perfect cruise. Can't wait!!!

Our party will consist of myself (almost 40); my Mom; and my daughter who will turn 12 on October 18. DD knows that we are planning a cruise but thinks we are going next May. I would love to try and surprise her but with my track record she'll know before I have the deposit paid. :rotfl2:

Currently looking at dates and trying to decide what to do. We just got of the Magic and loved it. My boys are begging for another cruise. I would ideally like a 4 night cruise but the dates aren't lining up. Our schools are closed Oct 17 & 18 too.

I was thinking about WDW starting 10/12 too. I'm a little worried about the crowds considering it is Columbus Day weekend. Has anyone reviewed touring plans?

My boys really loved the FE. I've heard that it is hard to get people interested in an FE for a short cruise. Based on those of you signed up so far is this something that would interest you?

Sorry. I haven't been over here in awhile but I would love to participate in a FE. I don't know a lot about it so would be extremely hesitant to lead it but would definitely wanna participate if enough people want to. (Or just a few is fine with me)

Ok, good to know. I am still debating between this cruise and the double dip on 10/20. I would be booked already if it was longer than three nights. It just seems so short - especially since our last cruise was 8 glorious nights. :)

Hi! We just booked our first ever cruise for 10/17/13 and we are really excited. We will be celebrating my 40th birthday :cool1: and my husband's 42nd birthday pirate:. We have a dd that is 10 princess: coming with us.

We are all beyond excited and definitely want to participate in FE if anyone else is interested.

We are currently season passholders and love all things disney! Looking forward to getting to know others going on our same cruise!

Julie
