Alan, I hope you had a painless if not pleasant journey home.

For us, coming back home meant picking up where we left off in our schooling (the kids and me) and work (dh) complicated by the burden of vacation laundry (for me), illness, job insecurity (scary things happening at dh's company) and post-cruise blues. I don't think we would feel it so keenly if we had another cruise to look forward to, but we don't.

Returning home in time to enjoy the changing of the fall colors makes the transition back to everyday life just a little more bearable. Even though it is beautiful here in western Maryland all year, right now the leaf colors are even prettier than Christmas tree lights or fireworks.

There were so many highlights on this cruise. In spite of some unfortunate things happening (weather, dh's illness, a touch of family tension at one point), it was the best cruise yet for our kids as well as for dh and me.

Well the Adventure is still not over. Sitting in Las Vegas right now (man I hate it here) waiting for a flight to LAX. The adventure started in Orlando, then up to Pittsburgh and now Vegas. Ugh. Well the price is right so who am I to complain.

Shortbusmom- Yes I am the woman who kept talking to you on deck 2 everytime I saw you LOL. Your friends's room was right across from us.

Yes, tell your parents they are beautiful! I was just unpacking and took a good look at them......much too nice to be used as dish "rags".....I prefer to use them as doillies....so pretty. Thanks again!

I agree.. They are in our kitchen now but more as Hot pad vs a dish rag.

add me to the hot pad group. We loved all of the FE gifts. Who made the beautiful and festive book (scrap/photo) It came in sooo handy and we were glad to have received it right away. We used it as an autograph book for the kids.

a good friend of mine is on the Magic today. She had 2 cat 9 rooms booked and 3 days ago she found out they were upgraded to balcony rooms. Wow to the pixie dust!

I have to say I was very very happy with out cat 9 rooms.

What a treat! After upgrading at port to a cat 6, we decided that while a Balcony was nice, we didn't spend as much time on it as we thought. Glad we didn't pay full price. When we rebooked onboard we only booked a Oceanview room for our next cruise.

We visited our tablemates room on Deck 2 Cat 9 and was thought it was very comfortable for us. The only thing was being so close to the water (Yikes), don't know why that scares me.

Being so close to the water was a little freaky. Most of the time I could not look out of the window as it made me seasick. I would have been happy in an inside room to tell the truth.

I loved all the FE gifts too!! I wont be using the "dish rags" as rags though either...they are really nice!! The jelly beans were nice as well. my daugther has been playing the bean game YUCK!! but fun!!!!

next time we cruise we hopefully will be getting a room with a balcony....We looked at a room before getting off the ship and it was perfect for us. Every morning and night i just stared out at the ocean, what a beautiful site it was!!....loved my porthole for sure though....some day not sure when...

Hey everyone! We made it back from our cruise, I won't say totally unscathed, but all in one piece, anyway. My husband got a flu and started feeling bad on the way home. I had an encounter with the world's nastiest flight attendent on Delta Air Lines on the way home. (I will never let Disney book my air again. I can't risk flying that airline again.)

We really enjoyed our first cruise. We booked for a Mexican Riviera on 10/9/11. I will have to get a new ticker! It is difficult going back to regular life and boring peasant food.

Although my terrible shyness kept me from meeting you all formally, I enjoyed getting to know you before the cruise. Maybe you saw me during the Halloween party. I looked like this guy:

To make a long story short, the flight attendant was really rude. We were in one of those invisible rows where we kept getting skipped for drinks. My husband was having a sore throat and it was a 5 hour flight and I was just trying to get his drink for him (since I was on the aisle). We had asked for it three times and the attendant got really defensive and raised her voice at me and was rolling her eyes and trying to make a scene. It was obvious that she was trying to make out like I was being super-difficult, which was not the case. I have worked with the public before and I don't expect perfection. This "lady" however, was responsible for my personal worst customer service experience. Her attitude needed to retire at least two years ago! She was mean. It was tough going from best customer service to the worst in just a matter of hours.

It sure is going to be nice having a ship out here on the West Coast. I relish the idea of a 60-90 minute flight down to L.A. after this last trip!

I agree, but we were thinking we could drive it with a our normal 7 hour drive to LA.. .but then again what a way to end a cruise vacation... 7 hours of stressful driving. Will have to see how Monica deals with it from her trip report.


Also after we booked the Mexican, started thinking we would miss Castaway Cay and then what Port would they use... I am thinking too much.

Yes, I am sure we will miss Castaway Cay, too. But, by the time 2011 rolls around, I will be so anxious to get on a Disney ship, I won't even want to get off for excursions!
