I was debating on Cat.12 for the price or take a porthole room for $800 more. I know I can't live without natural light, so I took the price. I just couldn't stand not knowing where I will be or what kind of room it will be. I am just such an obsessive planner when it comes to a vacation.

I am happy for you that Pixie dust visited you!

Thanks Hanae! I knew it was a risk and with our May cruise we did the same thing and only got assigned a CAT 11. At this point in time we decided money was more important than room assignment. We might be spoiled now, since we have only cruised in Cat 10 before. DH would still love a Cat 7 -4.

Was curious, is Photopass on the Magic yet or is it still just Shutters? Our last cruise in '07 there was talk about it coming soon and I saw some threads on it in the past but hadn't heard anything lately.

One of our friends coming on the cruise got their room assignment today and were placed in a Cat11 on the 6th floor, so they were happy.

No, still Shutters, but they now have a 'photos on CD' option for $400. There is a thread discussing this...I'll see if I can find it.

I just bought the trip insurance this morning... Thanks for everyone input..

I wasn't around to add my 2 cents, but it would have been more of the same. It must be a relief to have that insurance in place now. I hope you don't need it. I thought we might on our last cruise because of some hurricane/tropical storm issues, but it everything worked out.

We already got an upgrade, but it was at full-price! I originally booked a cat 10 and within a few weeks decided I would bump us up to cat 6. This makes me think of a QoTD: When did everyone book their reservation?

I have been waiting to cruise since: September 21, 2008.

Wow! And I thought I had waited a long time!

What are everyone's thoughts on today's cruise announcements? Anyone hatching any plans for next year or beyond?

I am thinking I will book a 7-day Mexican for October 2010. But, I will wait until we are on the ship having the time of our lives before I spring it on the hubby

The website does not really do a good job of showing what they have. I am thinking about doing a basket for my parents as well since this is their first cruise and Melody had all kinds of options that were not on the website.

That's good to know. Since I don't really know what I want, if I went to the website and didn't see what anything I liked I would have just given up. You have motivated me to call and ask for help if I don't see what I want.

Thanks, Angie! I saw a couple of gripes about this about the PC cruise. I wasn't sure where I was ranked and didn't want to go hunting through ALL THOSE THREADS!! I knew somone could tell me quickly! I admit, I'm not crazy about the preferred booking, though I already had an email from my TA saying they are sending out forms in order to guarantee all of us reservations if we had our names on a list. I may have to pick up a second job for that cruise!!
