October 17, 2009 Western

Thank you for the welcome.

I just booked us yesterday. According to the Disney website, the only date left for Palo dinner was on Sat. the 17th. All other dates and times were unavailable.

Of course, you can check Wavebands once on board. They always have additional spots open for Palo. Also, folks switch days and times or just cancel altogether so you have a good chance of getting close to what you want if unavailable through the website.

As for excursions, everything was still available on the website.

As many times as we've cruised on the Disney, anticipating this one, for us, is just as exciting as our first one.

:welcome: DisneySpirit and Otimon to our cruise meet. !!!

DisneySpirit - I see you are from Arizona as well. I am from Tucson and right now will more than welcome a trip out of the desert to be on the cruise, so I can't wait for October.

Kick back read our exciting cruise meet post posts.

Lucky1, I think it was you that mentioned the girls pirate t-shirts at Target...found them yesterday and bought one for DD. Cute! Thanks for the tip!

Jennifer

Your Welcome Jennifer - I need to go back to see if they have adult T-Shirts. DD will have a costume, but not us.

I'm going to Target today, so I'll have to look for these. Although, I have a feeling they won't be out yet here - we still have back to school supplies out since most schools here don't start until a few days after Labor day. I do want to get something like that for the adults - I don't want to go full-out, but would like something w/ a bit of a theme to it. I figure a shirt & pair of capri's & a few little accessories would be fine for me.

We are getting a rental from Hertz for the drive down (my DH has some credits to use) and a towncar from Florida Tours on the way back. I wanted to rent a car so we'd have a bit more flexibility as to when we leave, where we want to stop on the way to stock up water, drinks, etc. I will be a bit more of an inconvenience to drop the car off at the Port, but I figure I'll get out with the kids and the luggage, then my DH can return the car at his pace. He'd prefer less time waiting around in the terminal anyway. I don't care, I'll be looking for you all!

We thought about renting a car, but then decided we were going to be lazy:rotfl: It's worth it though w/ the credits you have! I was thinking about getting water & wine, but then I was reading where you can get it at Key West right in a CVS by the port, so we decided that if we can't get it on the way down, we won't worry. I'll look around for you when we're checking out!!

Kathy - Look in where the girl's clothes are VS in the seasonal section that is where I found them. Along with the candy corn leggings (only little girls can where those). Our seasonal section still has all the back to school items.

I didn't check the boy section or adult clothes to see what they have for pirate items. When I get more time I will head back to Target.

Great - thanks, I'll look there. I haven't been to our target in about 2 weeks now - I really hope they're done the remodeling. They were moving everything around & building a new fitting room area right in the middle. Now I have to figure out where everything is again!

Welcome Disney Spirit and Otimon! :welcome:

We're also booked on the Baltic, but it is the one right before yours (June 12-24) Hoping the economy continues to improve, or else we won't be able to go.

Hi Everyone,

Lots of pages to look back on so wondering if anyone knows offhand if a DIS meeting has been set for on board. If so, where and when will it be?

Many thanks for the info. :)

Welcome DisneySpirit and Otimom!

It's starting to hit me that the cruise is getting closer...Once I get my kids settled in school next week I'll be able to focus more on our trip.

Picked up the girl's shirt and a boy's one at Target yesterday. Thanks for the tip! They only had one left in my DD's size. The checkout girl couldn't believe they already had Halloween stuff in...

Looks like there will be quite a few twins on board on pirate night. Although my daughter will probably have a 'my little pony' bandana and be wearing a skirt. She into girly stuff right now. The boy's shirt is cute. Black T with Orange waffle weave sleeves. Has a pirate graphic and a cute 'Capt'n' saying. They aready have short sleeve pirate shirts, but figured I'd pick these up given they were under $5, they can wear to school and it may be cold up on deck on pirate night...

Not sure what I'm going to wear. I think white capri jeans, a blue T and some type of bandana or something. My husband will come up with something last minute I'm sure...

There is a plan to meet on embarkation day at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge. There is also a plan to meet at Carlos -n- Charlie's in Cozumel, at 2pm or 3pm (I can't remember which).

Hi Otimon and Disney Spirit!!!

Less than 2 months to go and we're jumping with excitement. DD started school here in Aberdeen and is doing GREAT. We can't wait for a vacation since it's been a really really busy, non-relaxing summer.

Hope you guys are doing fine..

Thanks for the welcome! On our Disney Med cruise we were on an excursion in Sicily riding in a cable car up to Erice. There were 8 couples in the car and we were all introducing ourselves. Turned out 6 of us were from AZ and one of the couples with a baby with them had just move to the UK from our hometown of Chandler, AZ! None of us had previously met before! (insert music "It's A Small World After All"):rolleyes1

I think we must crave the ocean because we have so much beach (sand) and no surf! This is our 3rd disney cruise in the last 14 months! (August, December, October) It always seems afterwards to have been so very long ago!:hourglass

Thanks for the welcome Sue. Glad your daughter is enjoying school. :teacher:

Believe it or not, I'll be pulling out the suitcase in a week or two and putting in some small things I know I won't use before then. My husband always laughs at that (he wonders why I just don't leave them in there until next time and save the trouble) but for me building the excitement can't come soon enough! :dance3:

Keep well everyone and have a safe journey to Port Canaveral.

I imagine it has been for your family. I can understand why you are so looking forward to a real vacation in October. Any vacation would be sweet but nothing beats a Disney cruise for relaxation! I'm glad to hear your daughter is enjoying school. The early years, when kids are excited about starting back to school don't last long, do they?

Welcome to the thread, DisneySpirit and Otimon! I am with you on needing a cruise between cruises. Dh and I did that last year to bridge the two year gap between booking this coming cruise and embarkment.

Laura, thank you for keeping the list and all the FE details for us. I can't recall if we've discussed at what point/if any we would consider splitting into smaller groups. For us, providing gifts for more than 15 families would be difficult. I have no problem with the possibility that most others would be in favor of a higher limit before splitting. I would just have to withdraw. No hard feelings, really.

I'm fine with splitting into 2 groups, but will participate either way. If we split now, we'll pretty much have a gift a day. Don't really need more than that, but this is my first cruise so I'm up for whatever the group wants to do...

So glad to see the group is expanding! :cool1:

My daughter's 3rd B.D. is coming up next weekend, and my son will start Kindergarden in 2 weeks:eek:. Wow, time flies by so fast.
Once these are done, I can concentrate on my cruise plan again.

Laura,

Thank you so much for updating and organizing FE.
I already picked up some gifts, and now have to focus on the Fish extender itself.

I also took your advise and went to local Target and found pirate shirts for my kids. They are very cute!:lovestruc
