Is anyone here up for an afternoon margarita meet? :drinking1

I'd say yes, but I'm not sure how long I'll be at Mr Sancho's. However, a cocktail meetup onboard would be delightful! I've been reading on the message boards that a lot of groups meet at 3pm on embarkation day in the Promenade Lounge.

This is true... although I would truly miss drinking the fabulous yard margaritas at Carlos'n Charlie's & Senor Frogs in Cozumel! We met members of our cruise group there during our past 2 Westerns and had an absolute blast!!!

We would be up for a margarita meet!!! Im always up for a drink!!!:rotfl:

Is this group doing Fish Extenders for the trip? Is there a deadline for signup? Just asking now to see if we should prepare for it.

We didn't plan on participating on our last trip, because we only booked a month out and didn't have any time to plan and plus when I got done packing I wasn't even sure how one would fit gifts in with our own personal items. I think it would be a neat thing for DD and she could be the one to pass out the FE gifts.

I guess needless to say I am still on the fence on this, but wanted to see what the collective DIS group was doing.

Is anyone any good at photoshop or something similar?? It would be fun to make a little siggie for our DIS group.....we also need a name...hmmmmmm?????

I don't think anything with FE has been decided yet... still in the planning stages.

I'm not sure if our family will participate in FE or not this time around. Although we had a lot of fun doing it on our 11/15/08 Western, we actually had to purchase a DCL rolling duffle to get all of our *stuff* home - and our DIS group just concentrated on the kids!!! Since we'll be spending a week at WDW before this cruise, I know that we're going to want to travel as light as possible - and with 7 of us traveling, we can only cut the amount of luggage down so far.

I don't know if it's been talked about yet, but some DIS groups also do Secret Mickey! :wizard:

you get your travel kit / ship and shore vacation guides in the mail!!!

:yay::yay::yay:

Woohoo!!! I just checked my mail and was thrilled to see a package from DCL! Getting the travel kit is exciting... even if it's the exact same thing from last year. ;)

It states that Castaway Club members who are paid in full can book shore excursions, spa appointments, & Palo reservations on July 19th! I guess I better get some serious planning done in the next few weeks!!!

That is what I was hoping to avoid is more stuff to take home. Since we will mostlikely be flying American and we have to pay for Luggage, I would hate to have to pay a penny more for Luggage.

If we decide to do FE as a group, I am trying to think of some small items.

Can you tell me more about this? I am assuming it is like Secret Santa.

Yahoo... I already have it marked on the calendar on when we need to make our final payment and when we can star making our reservations. Would love to do the Brunch, Tea and Dinner at Palos. I assume we can book all three.

Does any one know if you can purchase a pass to the rainforest room for the entire trip without purchasing a spa treatment?

You can. I think it's $75 for the week, but don't hold me to it. It's only $15 per day, though, so if you are likely to skip any days it's probably not worth it. I really enjoy doing it at least once on each sailing, but I'm so busy with other things that once is really all I have time for.

On a completely unrelated note, is anyone else planning to visit Mr Sancho's in Cozumel? I'd like to do their tequila seminar and then spend the day at the beach. They also have massages, ATV & horseback tours, and a cooking class. I know Disney doesn't offer an excursion there, but maybe we could get a deal if a bunch of people were interested in going?

Hi Everyone! I've been out of touch for the last week mostly due to computer issues! Now my internet seems to be working but I don't have email...ugh!!

Anyway, we are sure getting excited! We watched the Travel Channel show about the Disney Cruise Lines that was on yesterday. We'd seen it before and always thought wow, that would be fun so we enjoyed watching it differently this time.

Laura, welcome to the group! I have an 8 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. I'm pulling them both out of school that week...not something I was real excited about but the principal seems pretty cool about it so we'll make it work out.

Today DH is arranging the other aspects of the trip. We have decided to fly in the day before, rent a car and drive to the port and stay overnight. We had considered flying in the day of the cruise but after looking at the flight times and realizing how early we'd have to get up, etc we decided to go the day before. Adds a little more to the budget but I'll get over it I guess. Is anyone else coming in the day before?

Not sure what we'll do about the FE...still learning about all this stuff and not sure about it yet. Anxious to hear more

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Hi Jennifer,

We will be coming in the day before. We have no choice as it takes all day to fly to Florida (or all night if there was a red-eye). We had planned on staying at Hyatt-MCO and taking DCL transportation, since I like the idea of someone else dealing with our luggage. Still undecided if we will come in earlier or stay later and then doing WDW. Just hate having DD missing so much more school. We are probably 90% at going just on the cruise.

We are staying at the Residence Inn and to my knowledge, most everyone stays nearby the night before the cruise. It's highly, highly recommended to not arrive in town the morning of the cruise even with an early morning flight. That's the reason so many hotels offer free parking to guests leaving their cars at the hotel during the cruise. You won't be sorry.

How about Margarita Mayhem in Mexico? :rotfl2:

That's definitely in keeping with this discussion of meeting up at Carlos and Charlies. I hate to be a naysayer about something without offering an alternative, but, just as Pete's not in favor of Pirate names (I'm referring to his post of some months ago), I am not in favor of alcohol related names.

HEHEHEHEHE........ Sadly, Yes, we do have quite a few chocolate bunnies left....I just dont have it in me to throw out chocolate...lol

We spent the night at my brother-in-law's house Friday night and my sister-in-law shared some of her Easter candy with me. I thought of you.

Senor Frogs....With kids or without? I like that idea but I don't think it's something we would do with our kids. The last time we were at the one in Cozumel was when Dh and I ran in to get out of the rain after going into port to find souvenirs for our family and friends. The kids were tired out from snorkeling so we let them stay in our rooms.

It was about 3 in the afternoon. The upstairs at Senor Frogs was pretty empty and we were able to get a table near the balcony window. It was really nice sitting there quenching our thirst with those yard-high margaritas, watching the rain fill up the streets. We were taking it slowly waiting for the storm to pass over before heading back to the ship. A family (with 3 little kids) we recognized from the ship arrived soon after us. So we all chatted a bit before their food arrived. The atmosphere was pretty tame, family-friendly and relaxing. Everything changed quickly when a large group of party-minded individuals were seated nearby us. I don't know what they ordered but it included more than drinks served in the usual manner. The waitress tied a blindfold on the drinker. Then the blinfolded drinker was to down the shot. After which, the waitress would immediately and simultaneously shake the drinker's head back and forth while blowing a whistle. As she did the shaking and whistling she leaned in very close making body contact with the drinker. The waitress did this with the men and the women at the table. There was another round that involved shots being placed by the waitress into the bands of the men's shorts and the cleavage of the women's tops.

Here we are wet and disheveled but happy at Senor Frogs.

OMG!!! Thats funny, obviously not with children present, your description was funny too.....They are called Upside down shooters....or H**ter Shooter, I know its terrible! DH and I used to own a bar, so unfortunatley we are well versed in this behaviour. I would not take out 3 children there at all, DH and I have been there ourselves before, but I didnt even know they allowed kids, but I guess it is Mexico. What did the family with the children do? I think DH and I would have left, thats something my boys would have a lot of questions about:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
With that said, I wouldnt mind setting something up for "just" the parents.....

:cheer2:Love the pic of you and DH:cheer2:
