Nice to hear from you again Lynnie..

Too bad you didn't book Oct 20th, 07. We have 3 Molar Couples crusing then. (Kevin desserted us and is cruising the week before). Jo and Danny, Brenda and Jason, and Chuck and I are all cruising together on a Western.

Hope you have a great time. Sounds like you have quite a group.

Nancy :wave2:

Josie had that CD out that Kevin made us on Monday and her and I were doing the Cha Cha slide in the kitchen!!! Brought back memories!!!

I would love too book another Disney cruise!! Ever since I saw that the "Flying Dutchman" from Pirates is docked off the coast of Castaway Cay!!
Jack Sparrow is even on the Island!!! UGH!!!

They only week I could book for 2007 would be the one that Kevin is on, But I want to try some new places like the Western Caribbean. Only bad thing is the week Nancy is going Josie would miss a whole week of school...

We just got of the Majesty of the Seas and We had a ball. Josie really loved the kids program on RCCL. It wasn't the "Magic", but it was still a lot of fun.
Coco Cay was also very beautiful! Not as perfect as Castaway Cay...But a more natural setting with Chickens and roosters roaming the Island. The Barb que lunch was awesome! Great variety. We also loved having a stop at Key West.

We are planning a short trip to WDW in December to attend one of the Christmas parties. Then we may do a short cruise on RCCL...I priced Disney's 3 night and it is double RCCL price. I just can't swing it for a 3 night...So we have to settle...Still their Island is nice..Just no Jack Sparrow. Dang it!

If I can't swing DCL in 2007 then we will definetly do the western in 2008 cause that falls on a week I can pull Josie out a couple days in October!

Hi All!!

I met up with Nancy on another post and she said this thread was about to die........We can't let that happen!!

I also had to check to see if anyone was going on the October 6,2007 Western Cruise, we are going, it's our boys fall break.

In 20 days were are going on the 11 day Southern Caribbean, I can't wait, I need a vacation so bad, don't we all!! :)

It looks like everyone has gotten the cruise bug, it was so much fun!! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is well and Nancy I am so happy that your Mom is o.k.!!

See y'all later!!

Unfortunatly we have to stick to UK school holidays now Mathew has started High school, He only gets 1 week end of Oct so we can't do it.
I am typing this from hotel room near Disney, starting to get depressed we are here for 25 nights with only 1 full day left, go home Monday.
We just tried 4 night RCCL on Soveriegn Of The Seas. Doubt we will go on it again, the food was better than DCL but everything else was not. Only 1 towel animal in 4 nights :badpc: I just could not pay Disney prices in August (about 3 times RCCL).
Only about 7 week to our 1st trip to Disneyland CA so should not get too depressed that this vaccation is ending.
Hope everyone is well
Wayne

Hi Wayne!! Glad to see you got out of the UK under the "old" luggage rules. Do you have to make big changes for the return flight?

We were thinking of taking an Eastern cruise on a different cruiseline once because of the price difference. I think we probably should've tried the other cruiseline BEFORE Disney, because now I'll have something to compare it against and am afraid that they won't ever compare to DCL. But ooooh, those prices!!

Hey, I was just thinking...October 20th, 2007 is at the end of October. Why not join 4 Molar Express couples on that one? It's a Western this time. We already have a DISer from the UK so now you and the family would have something in common.

Have a safe flight home on Monday and a great trip to Disneyland CA!!

Nancy

Suzie,
You are so lucky!! I would love too be on the 11 night southern. They were offering some great rates.
Do you have too pull any kids out of school for that???

We are planning to book a 7 night on the Magic when 2008 rates come out. I would love 2007, but the week of Josie's fall break is another Eastern and we want to do the Western next time.

Wayne,
We are going on a 3 night Soveriegn of the Seas in December. Checked Disney prices and it was double for a 3 night. Just could not do it. I have been on a couple RCCL cruises and they are fun. You just can not compare them to DCL. Look at it as a new experience!!! :thumbsup2

We are plannning 2 nights at Disney OKW and then 3 nights on the cruise. I am ordering my MVMVP tickets this week!! :cool1:

I am pulling Jo out for 3 days for this trip in December and I don't know how this year's teacher will handle it. So far she is not so nice!!! eek!! :confused3 Very strict!!!!!! I am hoping she lightens up before parent teacher conference in October when I tell her!!!! :rotfl:

Take care all!!

Hello all!
We took our Mexican Riveriera on Carnival, not too fond of the ports but the wedding group was amazing (about 70 of us).

Matt and I are going to pull Mia for a week in December '08 from school for the western disney cruise - kinda of a sticker shock when we saw the price!

We did get our Disneyland passes, so we are getting our Mickey fix quite often - we like to go over for dinner and fireworks once all the tourist have left for the day.

Glad to hear everyone is doing good! :dance3:

Hello Mia's Mom,

I am hoping that the prices for 2008 won't be too awful bad for October??? I guess I have plenty of time to pay for it. :thumbsup2

I do love DCL, but wow they can be expensive..... :confused3

Have you booked yet??? I figure in the spring 2007 rates will come out?

Yes, we booked for Dec. 07 (sorry, not 08) on our October trip, we are taking advantage of the room credit they were offering.

I also belong to the Disney credit union, they offer great discounts for its members for disney trips (paris, hong kong, florida, etc) but at odd times. The flight is so much cheaper I may need to start booking through them.

Has anyone been on one of their cruises at xmas time?

DCL was almost 3 times the price for 4 nights in Aug thats why we thought we would try RRCL.
I was not well with motion sickness for 2 days which did not help, never had that problem with DCL so dont know if its with Soveriegn being older it does not have same stabilising system but that was not there fault.
Did not get off to a good start with the Lifeboat drill, it was a farce, people using lifts without being stopped, stairs were a standstill, they would not let us use our emergency exit because thats where they were bringing in cases.
I did not like the unbearable smell from the drinks station area, tiny cabin, gunge churning up in the bathroom sink. Out side the cabins were never clear, always a vacuum, maintainance equipment etc, never clear in 4 days.
Entertainment was not for us, we don't drink, use casino's or play bingo which is more or less what they base their cruises around.
They have a lovely theatre onboard with a cinema screen, instead of using it they showed a decent film(RV) in a conference room packed solid with no aircon, I had to leave after 30 mins I could not stand it.
One thing I could not believe was saltwater pool I hate saltwater so that did not go down well with me. When the adult pool was open nobody stopped kids going in.
Only thing better was the buffet meals, they were very good.
I know I should not compare with such a big price difference but a cruise line with such a good reputation as RCCL should have and could have better standards. IMHO I dont think this ship is doing a lot of good for their image.
Hope you have fun in December.

Thanks Wayne,

We will only be on board for 3 days...>We plan to spend the one day at Coco Cay and not go back till we have too... I really like their Island. :sunny:

We will just have to manage till we can sail Disney again. We sailed Majesty in July and we all had a fabulous time.

I will report back when we get back in December..... :goodvibes

Thanks for the info. We don't do casinos or bingo either..>We plan to just relax and eat!!! We hate the saltwater pools too, but I heard the RCCL is considering changing to fresh water. that would be nice...

Wayne,
Are you taking your little ones to the "Mickey's Halloween Treat" at Disneyland?

Hi Griselda
Not so little any more Mathew has only just turned 12 years old but he is 5`9" tall, another year he will be taller than me.
We don't know what to do about halloween. Done Mickeys not so scarey at WDW for last 3 years and really enjoyed it, even got picked to go on the little bus and wave at the crowd last year but only in CA for 8 nights so need to sort out our itinery.

Wayne

Hey Michelle,
I have to tell you...you were my inspiration for booking the 11 day cruise!! :thumbsup2 I remember you had it booked at one point, while we were posting for October 2005 cruise and I checked into it and booked it just to get the rate and really make up my mind. Well, I made up my mind earlier this year and stuck with it and now I am so ready to go!! I saved all my commissions all year to pay for it though!! I just don't think of the prices, then I think of all the things I could have done with the money!!!

I also have been shopping the other cruises, I would love to try another cruiseline and save all the $$$, We have really been bitten by the cruise bug!! :teeth:

Wayne,
You know what is funny what you say about the towel animals, our cabin person only made animals a couple of times on OCT. 2005 cruise, our 1st cruise and I didn't know any better......she definitely would not go out of her way for us, which I understand now is wierd for a Disney Cruise!

This is a good point to remember for future Disney Cruises that I learned from these posts: I just love the Palo Chocolate Souffle dessert and I make it at home for my boys, someone told me that all you have to do is tell your server when you are in any dining room that you would like Chocolate Souffle and they will get some for you!! You just have to tell them at the beginning of the meal!! I never knew that!! My boys can't wait to check that one out!! :Pinkbounc

Take Care everyone!! We will talk soon!!
