October 15, 2005 anyone?

Michelle, You are right!! Our vacation starts on October 14th at 7:35 a.m....or actually on Thursday at 4:30 pm when I leave work!! LOL!!! We are flying into Orlando too and staying at the Airport Hyatt on Friday night. That way we can be FIRST on the bus, pushing and shoving all the sweet little children out of the way, of course!! Just Kidding!!!! We are so excited about this trip. I'm already saving to cruise again in two years. It'll take us that long because we were just advised that our days of getting tax returns are over!! Can't claim our kids anymore and they, along with their tuition payments for college, kept us afloat! Oh, well...I guess the party's over now. I think I'm going to try to reset my countdown.

:earseek: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Nancy

I made a big oops on my countdown ticker... I looked and looked and wondered why I was at 220 days versus everybody else at 250 days... Viola... I put in September instead of October...

anyway.... I am planning on flying in on Saturday.. should be a direct flight in from Buffalo or Rochester...

I got some nice kid size carry-on bags at Wal-Mart couple weeks ago..... they come with backpack (good for dolls maybe), and duffel w/rollers, and a typical boxy roller... got one for both DD's @ $10 each.... sure they weren't barbie, brats, or strawberry shortcake, but for that price they can embelish the bags themselves...

Later,
Paul

How does this sound???? I just booked a car through Budget to pick up on Friday when we get to Orlando and drop off at the Budget at Cape Canaveral on Sat morning.
The rate I got was for a FULL SIZE CAR $42.40. :confused3 Is that a good price???? Sounded pretty good to me and so I put it on hold. Cheaper than the DCL transportatioin for the 3 of us.

This was we can drive to dinner or anywhere else we want when we get into town.

The drop off is Astronaut Blvd in Cocoa Beach. I assume that is the one I wanted and they have a shuttle to take us to port? ;)

We still don't know where we will stay yet??? I really want to stay at WDW even if it is for one night.

Also wanted to tell all the ladies that JC Penney is having a huge clearance sale and they have formal long beautiful gowns that would be perfect for formal night on the ship. They are $100 to $200 dollar dresses marked to 39.99 and then half off that!!! I think I will get one and put up for the trip. Dillard also has some beautiful girls dresses marked down, but I am going to wait for the Spring Easter dresses to go on Clearance and get DD one of those. princess: I told DD we get to dress like Princesses and she was so excited!! Again.....My family and friends thinks I am strange!!! I don't care what they all think because Josie and I have so much fun on these trips! :cloud9:

$42 a day for a full-size sounds pretty good to me, but I'm basing that on business rates that I've received in the past when I've traveled with work.

We were talking about staying near the port for a few days, but DH and I decided that we want to do Islands of Adventure before the cruise, so we're going to spend two nights at the Portofino Bay Hotel over at Universal. We used FL Tours last year to get us from the airport to resort and port and back again - I'm pretty sure we'll do that again, too. It was so relaxing to sit back and just let someone else do the driving.

It's funny that you mentioned the sale on dresses - I bought a few last year at Dillards towards the end of summer and got some really nice long gowns on sale. I guess I'll use them again this year - where else am I going to wear them? :earsboy:

Hi all!

I haven't posted in a while, but it looks like we will definatly be going on the cruise, unless something freaky happens!

It will be me, my husband and my Daughter (3). My best friend, her husband, her daughter (3) and son (1). My other friend and her husband, her Daughter (3) and her son (1), and her parents. Also another friend and her husband and her son (3) Big group, but we will have a blast!

It will be my husband and my 5th cruise, and Katie's second!

Glad to see all the new people sailing with us! We need a master list!

Babyjosie98: I tried plugging in the Walmart discount on mousesavers (W810011) and Full-size comes up at a budget-helping $25.46 per day... for $45 you can get a mustang convertible!! ;)

thanks goodness for mousesavers.com!!!

shmooogirl: your DD is a cutie... I have a DD that is 3... never stops talking... we thought she was never gonna talk... now she never stops!!! :goodvibes "What's your name?" "What you doin?" "What's your name?"

Later,
Paul

I will check that out!! I love mousesavers!! :cool1:

I just have that other car on hold and so it is easy enough to cancel.

OYBOLSHOI,
I would love to do Universal, but we are waiting for DD to get a bit taller. She loves all the rides and get's very upset when she is too short :sad2:
Definetly take the gowns again!! Might as well.

This is the first cruise that I have been on that has a real formal night!! I think it will be kind of fun!

I can totally understand wanting to wait until your DD is old enough to go on all the rides - it's not fun to be at an amusement park and not be able to go on the really fun rides!

I loved dressing up for dinner on our last seven-night cruise - I actually wore formal gowns for formal and semi-formal nights and the night we went to Palo. I had nicer dresses for the other evenings, but I still dressed up more than I usually would when we're on vacation. I loved it and can't wait to do it again. I also love to see how everyone else looks - it's quite a show!

Hey Schmoogrrrl - I think someone started a master list of cruisers with names, ages, etc... a few pages back, but I bet it hasn't been updated in a while.

Or am I just imagining that post? :teeth:

I think it would be nice to know what dinner seating everyone has - although I'm guessing that most of the folks on this board will have the first seating because it's probably a lot more convenient with children.

Anyone joining DH and me for second seating? :)

OK, I have to go back to work now or I'm liable to find myself blocked from the internet. :earseek:

right now, we are 2nd seating... have been thinking about whether to stay or bump 1st... for now it's 2nd, with drooling sleepy children...

Thanks Paul for adding us. :teeth:

Brenda, we are 2nd seating, too. :wave2:

Anyway, I better go too. I'm supposed to be resting per my DH. We have had the flu going around the family. My DH & oldest DS are the last "men" standing. :) But, wouldn't you know? I'm so "Disney Obssesed" that the moment I feel a little better (thank you ibuprofen :worship:) I'm on the DIS boards.

-Have a good day, everyone! ~Jen :flower:

Jen & Mark, If you are having any late night parties in your room make sure we have an invite as I think we are next door to you, if neither of us get an upgrade. :cool1: :rotfl2:

oooops... fixed that wayne sorry... more caffiene for me... also added room #s... I have this in an excel spreadsheet... just don't know how to get it publicly available for our thread ...

does everybody have access to yahoo groups? I could create a group and place the file there....

Thanks,
Paul

Sneaking back to thread while at work.... shhhhh!

I think a Yahoo Group would be an awesome way to keep track of things for our group.

And sign DH and me up for any late night parties!! :earsboy:
