October 14, 2007 - 10/14/2007 Wonder

Just made our final payment last night! Can't wait to book our Palo brunch and dinner. I think we're going to do dinner on the second night and brunch on the sea day. I really hope I don't get Animators Palate as my second night restaurant, because I don't want to miss the color change show. I can make these reservations on July 31 at 3 a.m.? or is it midnight? Thanks

Matsterrocks - have you found someone to share a van with? We're a party of 3.

Nope still have not found anyone to share with. Are you interested? Are you going back to WDW after the cruise?

Matsterrocks: How much does the van cost? I have a car reserved but if the van is cheaper (and more convenient if it picks us up at the port), I might be interested. Thanks

It would be approx $75 for the 3 of you including tip. The rental would be cheaper. I just don't want to bother picking up and droping off a rental. Let me know what you think.

HI EVERYONE. I'm glad I found this site and this board. We too are going on a cruise 10-14. This is our very first one and we are soooo excited. I counted down the days until I could reserve my activities!! :cool1:
Here's my activities so far:
Day 2: Nassau Harbor Cruise from 9:30am-11:30am
Day 3: Snorkel Lagoon Equipment Rental - ALL DAY
Couples Cabana Massage 10am-10:50
Day 4: Hydralift Facial 9:15am-10:05am
Palo Dinner 6pm-8pm

**I did read somewhere that the pirate party and dinner is on the 3rd night. Does anyone know if we will miss anything by having dinner at Palo's on the last night??:dance3:

Welcome Southern Girl!

You could not have picked a better Cruise Line:thumbsup2 Disney does it right! All your excursions look good, one suggestion, snorkel early at Castaway Cay...after you cabana massage you will be worthless! I mean that in a good way, my wife and I always have a cabana massage and all we want to do is sleep on the beach afterwards. We are not going to have time this cruise, we are renewing our wedding vows on Castaway Cay!:woohoo:  :woohoo: The Pirate party does not start until 9:00, so you should have time to change after you eat at Palo's...that is if you can move. Palo's is so good, everyone tends to over eat...save room for dessert, they make an awesome Chocolate soufflie (sp?)

Thanks for the reply. My poor husband is getting so tired of me talking about the Cruise. Everyday I have something new to tell him that I found on the boards. I told him to get ready for me to shed a few tears when I see the ship for the first time. He thinks I'm crazy!!:dance3: He says - Honey it's just a ship - you don't cry when you see OUR boat!! :confused3 HA!
I changed my itinerary up a little bit. We are not doing the cabana massage. I decided I'd rather put my $$$$ toward the dolphin encounter. I can't wait. What a great idea - renewing your vows at CC. I pray for good weather :cool2: :cool2:

My DH feels the exact same way. I booked this cruise close to two years ago and it has filled by life almost every day since then. The boards are wonderful because those of us on the boards are excited along with everyone else. Now, when he sees me sitting at the computer he says "are you are talking to those people again." :rotfl2: He is worried I am telling some of our deep dark secrets. Na, just the fun ones. A little more than two months and we will be on the boat.

I was a little disappointed today. They are doing the Dining Plan with the 2008 land and sea cruises but aren't going to give us taking the cruise in 2007 to have the same deal. They probably figure they already have us drawn in and they are trying to attract others.

Two months from today, we'll be heading down for our night before the cruise! Where has the time gone? When I started this thread, the cruise seemed like it was eons away!

On another note, I think I mentioned this before, I am going to be starting a Disney oriented podcast with a few other people and I would like to do some segments on cruising.

I'd love to interview some people in the weeks before the cruise and then again on ship. Sort of the expectations before, and the reality during.

Anyone interested in being interviewed?

I would love to help...this is our 8th Disney Cruise with the 14 day Panama Canal crossing reserved...:woohoo: :woohoo: We are doing a wedding renewal on Castaway Cay, that might be something of interest to other people. Just PM...

Our DS and I would be interested in being interviewed. My DH on the other hand is not much for being the center of attention but he might not mind sitting along side. If you need a child's perspective our DS is 8 and is not shy at all. This is our first Disney cruise but we have been on Princess and Carnival to give a comparison perspective.

Two months from now I will be getting ready to take our Speciality Cruise watching the fireworks at Epcot.

We cannot wait either. I would have no objections to being interviewed either!
Wendy

Things have been pretty quiet around here lately. I thought I'd post to see if I could get some action going.

I realized yesterday that it is less than 2 months to the cruise!

WHERE has the time goine?

Things have been pretty hectic for me at work, plus, on top of everything, I am trying to get Mouse Manager ready for public release. I'm trying to narrow down my release to either 9/15 or 9/22.

Then, if I wasn't busy enough, I started working on the podcast this past weekend. I've sent PMs to those of you who said you would be interviewed for the cruise.

I have done virtually no planning for our trip. I'm now thinking of changing some of our ADRs for our 8-night stay after the trip.

We've decided to just do the Earl of Sandwich on the night we do Cirque. It is just not that convienent to formally dine with 7 year old. We'd either be sitting down to dinner too early or way too late.

So, that means we have another table service credit. I'm thinking of shuffling our reservations so that we can try Citricos. It looked really interesting when I visited to photograph it for Mouse Manager (I've photographed EVERY restaurant in WDW for Mouse Manager). The menu also looked really good (I've input EVERY restaurant menu so that it appears in Mouse Manager).

So, where are all of you in your planning process?

I'm just getting more and more anxious! I seriously cannot believe it is less that 2 months away now. I ordered my son a basket from The Perfect Gift yesterday. I am doing a spreadsheet of what we need as far as clothes and shoes so that we don't overpack. Hmmm...let's see.....I'm driving my husband bananas:banana: because all I do is talk about the cruise and what I see on this board. And, finally I'm trying to get some weight off before the cruise (which is NOT going too good):rolleyes1

We have jumped ship...but we will be on the high seas with you, we changed to the 7 day for the same week. We think the 4 day is just too rushed, we did a 4 day on the very first disney cruise and it was over before you seem to get unpacked, not to say it was not fun, but we have been on (5) 7 day cruises and (1) 11 day cruise and they seem to go to fast...

With us renewing our vows on Castaway Cay, it was even more rushed...

Hope everyone has a great time and we will be thinking of you from the Magic.:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :woohoo:

May we join in?? This is our first Disney cruise, and we're soooo excited! Actually, I am the excited one, everyone else is just along for the ride. It will be me, DH, DS (age 8) and DD (age 6). DH is so tired of me thinking and reading and planning...and now counting down!

Welcome aboard:)

This is our first Disney cruise aswell!! Really looking forward to it:pirate:
Are you going to the parks aswell?

Sadly, no, we're in for the cruise, and then to MNSSHP on the 18th, then back home. I would love to add on days for the parks. We're breaking our personal rule to not pull the kids out of school for the trip, so we felt quite guilty adding additional days! As it is, they will miss 2 1/2 days of school. Our teachers aren't pleased. Oh well...you do only live once! We'll have to make another trip to fully enjoy the parks! My dh and I have cruised on RCCL before, but not DCL. This will be the first time for our kids to cruise and the first DCL trip for all of us.

Our son is missing 8 days of school:scared1: Oh well life goes on:) He's doing some summer learning and we will try to get an idea of what he will miss during that time and work with him on it.
