October 13th, 2007~"Cruise-A-Palooza"

Yes, Bev & Robin that was definetly Cove Cafe! Mmmm, I'm thinking of mocachinos (sp?) right now. :thumbsup2

welcome lisa & family/friends! You should definetly join your daughter with our group of 8-11 year olds. Also, I have a DS who is 13 & DN(niece) who is cruising with us & she's 14. :goodvibes

I agree with margaritaqueen, we should start thinking about our cruise meet and maybe take a vote on it or something. :)

Which deck is Cove Cafe on? I love coffee.
Especially Five Bucks.... er ....I mean Starbucks (carmel frappuccino with a shot. )

Good Morning! Welcome Lisa!

I am sitting here reading the posts and drinking coffee from my COVE CAFE MUG:yay: . Won't be long b4 someone else will be making my coffee in the morning ( at least for 7 days ).

:surfweb: Good morning :disrocks:

Two months one hour from now my DW, DS, DS's friend and I will be in the air flying to Orlando :dumbo: We are spending one night at CBR, exploring Epcot Friday after check in.

Than of course; next morning we'll be on a DCL bus on our way to the port and boarding the Magic :woohoo:

You all have fun planning, time is getting near :hourglass

Hi Everyone! My name is Lisa and we are going on our first cruise together (I've been on 3 other ones, but no one else has been at all)...We will be on the 10/13/07-10/20/07 Magic cruise & can't wait..."We" includes myself, my DH, our 13 yo DS, 9 yo DD, my sister in law, and my husband's best friend & his 14 yo DD (7 of us total):yay: . We just booked the cruise last month (we were going to go to Disney, but I convinced my DH that there is PLENTY to do on a cruise, and he will not be bored, so WOO-HOO, here we come! I can't wait... Someone at my work introduced me to Dis-Boards, and although this is my first posting, I have been getting my toes wet by reading some of the posts & trying to find out as much as I can about DCL. We loved DW (been 1x, back in 2002), so I figured we would love DCL, especially since they have the separate programs designed just for the kids, and it looks/sounds like it's all day/night, so they won't be bored with only a few things to choose from..Any helpful tips to help us enjoy our first family cruise would be greatly appreciated! This is the first time I've ever participated in a discussion board (I work on a computer all day at work, so I don't usually go online at home), so please be patient with my postings, if I offend or annoy anyone with my questions, I'm sorry in advance! Thanks, Lisa

Welcome to our new friends, Lisa and her family.:cool1: Don't worry about asking questions. All of us new cruisers have questions. This will be our first cruise ever, and I have had plenty of questions. We have allot of great people on our thread here who have cruised before and are happy to help.:woohoo: I know they have helped me and my family with our questions.
Hey everyone, I was just looking at the count down clock on my computer. It says we have 61 days to go. Then I looked on the calendar and I counted the number of week-ends we have left until our cruise. (I had to get help from my granddaughter with the countn' part. I took off my shoes to help me with the countn' when she came in the room and passed out!!! I said Emily, Emily baby girl what's wrong!!! She said Papa it's your feet!!!!!!) People, People my feet don't smell THAT BAD!!!! She was just puttn; me on!!! Oh that girl. Well anyway we have just 9 week-ends to go!!! I guess if you wanted to look at it this way, we are in the fianl 10 countdown!!!!:woohoo: :yay:
Hey Kevin and Bev these pictures and question games are great. Having us try and figure out the answers is fun. I didn't have a clue on the picture you had Bev.:confused3  And, Kevin I new the answer to Castaway Cay's name before it was Castaway Cay. I read the article posted on the Yahoo site. Very interesting reading. Keep up the guessing games!!!:thumbsup2

My DW, DGD and myself are spending Friday at Carribean Beach Resort too!!!:cool1:  We are driving over from our home near Tampa to start the vacation a day early. Then we will drive over to the port Saturday morning. We figured we wouldn't have to get up Saturday morning as early and drive all the way over to the port from our home. Plus it is just plain ol' fun staying at our home away from home Disney World!!!!:yay::rotfl: This was a last minute decision for us. We had talked about it, decided not to do it, then we thought hey why not!!! I told DW:love: we wouldn't have to get up as early Saturday morning. Saturday is going to be busy anyways so why not make it a little easier on us. I didn't have to twist her arm at all!!!

Is there a thread out there for teens on our cruise? DS17 would love to find other teens.

My DD is 17 and there is another girl who is, I think 17. We have not been able to locate other older teens.
Would your son like to start a thread?

A grand welcome to our newbies...hope you can get some useful planning information -

Welcome Lisa,
Glad you are joining us. I too would mention I have an 'almost 13' DS, but he would just roll his eyes and say "MOM!"

ahhhhh...the sweet age of '13'....Nan and I have enjoyed it sooooo much - we get 2 more cracks at it. This is when I turn to friends...and say...pray for us.

soooo...ya all like photos....and guessing games....OK...I'll play. Attached is a very unique photo I took (yeah right...you took it alright...right off the internet)....the question of the day....Where was this picture take from?

Just re-read that you are asking where the pic was taken FROM...not what the white smoke above the Magic was :rolleyes1

Never mind!

Kevin, is it at Port Canaveral?

Pass a prize to Jenmack....YES...Port Canaveral - it is.

APOOHFN said:
Kevin ~ it's the Space shuttle Atlantis over the Magic.

I'd vote to offer some extra credit to APOOHFN.

This does raise a question for me...am not sure if this is the Magic...or the Wonder. For me...this photo does not offer enough detail - would you add your thoughts...

Man, I don't check the board for a few days and I end up with three pages to read! Welcome to our newest cruisers! Looks like some cool things have been happening. Love the new picture trivia. Need to brush up on my tag game rules a few more times.

DW bought a new dress today for the cruise. She's been less excited about the whole planning thing (12 months out) but I think she's coming around for the last 60 days!

Got our tix in the mail for MNSSHP yesterday - very cool! Now we've just got a few more weeks before this all gets way too real! Have a great week ahead and keep on posting!

A BIG welcome to new posters!!

2 months from today!!!

We are soo excited around our place - at least I am. DW who is a teacher and kids are back in school as of last week so they are a little distracted. I will get them back on track soon enough. Gotta get their priorities straight!!! :rotfl:

I love the picture games / trivia - keep em coming!!

Keep shopping the post-summer sales. I bought a beautiful red halter dress for formal night yesterday at JCPENNEYS for $14.95 on clearance. I was thrilled.

Now if I can just force the DD11 to wear the pretty red dress in her closet that she is currently "refusing" to wear because "its got lace on it and too girly"...we'd be in good shape. The rest of the family (DH, DW & DD6) all have coordinating black & red formal wear....you know for the Christmas card photo...but she's a standout. Momma will win this one yet.... I keep telling her that wearing a dress for 2 hrs won't kill her especially considering the wonderful vacation her parents are taking her on. Yes - the guilt trip is in full force. The DD6 can't wait to wear her really frilly dress. She'd loves dressing up. Hope you all are having better luck with picky dressers.

Hmmmm. I'm thinking the picture is of the beautiful chandelier (by Dale Chihuly and his studio) that's hanging in the main lobby/foyer on the Disney Magic??? :confused3

I wish I could figure out how to post pictures too. :sad2:

TamieH, congrats on the good find and good luck on getting your DD11 on wearing the dress with lace. I can relate. It seems like only yesterday she was dressing like a princess and the only "girly" thing she likes now is Tink.
