October 13, 2002 - Wonder Roll Call!

KennyK - Don't be frustrated. Maybe this is a low tech cruise and we didn't know about it :)

So are we going to meet somewhere, sometime on the ship? Thanks for the shoe rack advice. Any other tips?

I too am amazed how few in number from this board will be cruising on Oct 13th. That's "okay" with me though... I know Disney can handle it, but I prefer an empty ship over a summer "packed to capacity" ship anyday!! :)

We got our docs today - great to finally get 'em! (bit anti-climactic, however). Now the countdown really begins...

Hi all of you October 13, wonderer's!!! The time is REALLY drawing closer and I can't hardly wait!!!!! I think it would be fun to all get together for a sailaway party!! Let's all pray for wonderful weather and calm seas!! See you there!!!!!!

A perfecttrip

Yes it is getting close, only 4 weeks to go.

My wife and I were thinking that maybe the Lime Green ribbons and meeting someplace on deck during the sail away party might be good. We really don't know the ship so I really can't suggest a lounge/bar club or something like that.

We'll probably be on the ship early as our flight gets in at 9:30AM. We'll probably be on the first DCL bus out of MCO. After check in and some lunch on board, getting Grandson set up in Kids Club and then getting ressies for spa treatments for DW and DD and friend. I guess we'll get settled into our cabin, maybe go for a swim, mandatory drill etc. We have late seating so will be going to the early stage show before dinner.

So do anyone that maybe cruised before on the Wonder have a suggestion on where we can meet.

I think the lime green ribbons are good. Maybe Goofy's pool (family pool) would be a good spot to meet. It's mid ship, and I like being outdoor leaving port. Just a suggestion, I am open for anything!! We also have second dining, and will probably go to the early show.

The cruise date on my countdown is a day off, oops! That's the day we leave home, so officially , our vacations has begun!! We are off on a WONDERful adventure!!!!!!!!!

See you all there!!!!!!!!!

A perfecttrip & all the other DIS cruisers

I guess that will be great, our family will be up on deck with lime green ribbons on at the Goofy pool. We will be a party of 5, myself of course, my DW, Mary; My DD, Cindy; her son, Alex, and my DD'd friend Ann.

So we'll be looking for other people with those lime green ribbons.

28 days and counting.

Will be going to WDW afterward for 4 more days of R & R at the Wilderness Villas. Will be going to Mickeys Holloween party on Oct 17th at MK.

See you soon.

If any of you are planning to visit the Kennedy Space Center the day before our cruise...

Kennedy Space Center is celebrating their 40th Anniversary on Oct. 12 with a special barbecue picnic w/the Astronauts ticket deal. Tickets are $26.94 adults / $16.34 kids and include a barbecue picnic lunch; meet and greet with astonauts; AND a full day's admission to the KSC!

This is only 94 cents more than the usual admission ticket for KSC. KSC also offers a daily dine w/Astronaut package -- but that is $55 for adults. So, I guess this is a specially priced deal for their 40th anniversary. Tickets can be ordered online on the KSC website -- www.kennedyspacecenter.com. Click on the KSC 40th Anniversary Picnic - Oct 12 link.

There is no shipping of tickets, they have to be picked up at will call. (But at least no shipping /handling costs.) Here's what's printed on their website:

Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Kennedy Space Center with Astronauts representing four decades of manned space flight! A special 40th Anniversary Picnic will be held Saturday, October 12, at 11 a.m. at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

A limited number of tickets are available for the special event, which will feature Astronauts Scott Carpenter, Gene Cernan, Brian Duffy, and more. Guests will enjoy a barbecue lunch and will have “meet and greet” opportunities with each of the Astronauts.

Tickets include the 40th Anniversary Picnic and a full day’s admission to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, including all shows, exhibits, IMAX® movies and the KSC Tour of restricted areas.

TICKETS WILL NOT BE SHIPPED
All tickets will be held at Will Call for pick up on October 12.

WELCOME ABOARD

Glad you and your family are joining our select DIS crew.

We are trying to at least have a small DIS meet on embarkation at the Goofy Pool. Wear something Lime Green and look for the rest of us.

I see you have twins who are 11. We will be bringing our Grandson, Alex, who is 9 1/2 and in the 5th grade. He plans on attending the labs. We have second seating.

I see you come from PA, we're from Long Island, NY so I guess we're Northeast neighbors.

See you in 2 1/2 weeks.

KennyK

I'll have to put lime green ribbon on my shopping list, which I still have...always shopping for one more thing for the trip. My children are in 5th grade also. They are still 10, will be 11 while we are at Disney. I am going to sign them up for the labs. Not sure if my son will go for it or not, but I know my daughter will.

See you soon neighbor Kenny.

Tina,

We also have 11 yo twins, both boys - we are staying at the beach club and then will be on deck 6 for the cruise - I believe we are in the two cabins next to Larry who started this thread.

See you at the goofy pool.

JJ

Hi DH and DW are traveling with DD 15 so glad to hear there will be at least 3 other teens, DD was very worried it would be lonely. We will be in cabin 7505 see you in a few days.

DDcrazy

Believe it or not, I also have a dd15 as well. She is getting kind of concerned about finding other girls her age on the ship. We are in 6036 and 6038. My daughters name is Nicole.

Our other kids are DS9 DS11 DS11 and DS13

I'm at work and can hardly concentrate! I'm starting vacation tomorrow and taking the day to pack. We leave for the land portion of our trip Thursday morning. Can not wait!!!

Woo hoo!:bounce:

Hi Larry,

Good luck on your pre trip. We'll see you on the ship by the Goofy Pool on embarkation. We'll be going to WDW after the cruise.

See you soon

Add us in! I just found this board (it's Great!)

My wife Laura and I are taking our 2nd Wonder cruise, Deck 6 - Veranda. We'd love to stop by and say "hi!" so we'll do that, if it's ok.

I'm turning 40 on Oct 31st (yes! Scary!) and Laura is 34, and this is my b-day cruise. Our cruise in Sept 1999 was a honeymoon cruise.

After the cruise it's 2 weeks at OKW (DVC members)! A couple days to go! :)

Too bad we all can't have dinners together, that would be fun.

C-ya there!

DanB,

Welcome aboard, glad you can join us. Since we don't know yet what our dining rotation is its kind of hard, but I'm sure some of us will be in the same dining room for the meals.

We'll see you up at the Goofy Pool on embarkation night. Wear those lime green ribbons so you'll stand out.

Besides yourself Hawaiian Girl is coming the furthest.
