Hi again everyone. Interesting local tidbit from my world. I am not sure if you all remember the I35W bridge collapse here last year, that fell into the Mississippi during rush hour, killing 13 people? Anyway, they have been cranking to get a new bridge constructed (since traffic is a nightmare with people that can't go that way), with an opening date of December 24th (which I thought was fast to build a bridge of that size). They said yesterday, they are so far ahead of schedule they are shooting for a September 15th opening! That is totally amazing I think. Erika, I heard about that bridge collapse!! That is great news if they can finish it that early!!! As long as it is safe!! Of course, I don't think anyone has to worry about that....I'm sure they are being extra cautious!!!

I drove by a gas station today, and the price for regular unleaded was $4.07 a gallon!!! UGH!!

I was wondering about that just the other day, but had not had time to look it up anywhere. I think it's great if they get it done that early. What got me to thinking about it was that a one mile section of I-40 in downtown Knoxville was closed on May 1st for 14 months. The one mile section is so congested that the only way to safely rebuild that section of the interstate was to close it. It will save an estimated 2.5 to 3 years in construction time. Fortunately, there is a bypass around Knoxville that will help, but it will still be a mess.

You be sure to keep that stuff out there on the west coast!! We don't want any of that here!!!! Gas has actually gone down about 10 cents here the last few days. We are not holding our breath though....

Yuck, I had a hard enough time when it was $3.55 last week!!!

Oh yeah it will be safe LOL!!! They are bridge crazy now. They have closed 2 other major bridges in the last 2 months, because they thought they might have issues at some point. It's almost going to the opposite extreme now.
