October 09 Roll Call!

I was poorly on the flight home last year too.
I always feel rougher on the way home, but I normally make it to the airport before I have to be sick, last year I had my first experience with a barf bag - I needed 2

This year I'm stocking up on travel sickness tablets and ginger. I thought I'd grown out of it, but obviously it's coming back to haunt me now...

I'm glad I'm not on the same flight as you then ;)

I wasn't ill, but DH was. He looked so bad when we went to check out of All Star Music that the manager offered us a free room for him to recover in!

It was made even worse by the fact that we couldn't take him up on it because we had to get the hire car back to Sanford airport, even though we knew our plane was delayed by over 9 hours.:scared1:  We ended up sitting in a closed Sanford airport for several hours, our flight wasn't until 3.45am, with DH trying to sleep on the floor, as he was going to have to drive us home when we landed. :sad2:

Have you been to the gp about the travel sickness Meryll?
My oldest gets really travel sick, so our gp prescribed her some heavy duty tablets to take before we flew. They seemed to do the trick, as usually she gets sick on short bus journeys, but she was fine.:woohoo:

DH is great normally:lovestruc , but I tend to get a bit wound up about everyone having a great time, and as nobody else bothers to help with any of the planning, or to be honest even read any of the planning stuff:eek: I was worried that we wouldn't ever be going back, and had to cram everything in asap!:rotfl:

I considered letting them try it their way for a day, but really didn't want to stand in massive lines and not have anywhere to eat, etc. for the day.:lmao:

I let them do their own thing at Blizzard beach, after making sure we got there for opening, and they left me with the towels and only came back when they had been on everything and were ready to go. I sat there for hours reading my book, waiting.:confused3 They forgot they were supposed to come and get me when they had gone on the 2 things I thought looked way too scary for me, so we could do the rest together.:confused3

But I still haven't been forgiven for not getting them to Typhoon lagoon before it shut for the winter, my youngest doesn't believe that Disney changed the schedule at the last minute, so there I was with all my days planned and Disney closed Typhoon lagoon instead of Blizzard beach.

My DD is always sick when we get off the plane when arriving home, I think it is the jetlag, have to have a plastic bag handy when waiting to go through passport control.

oh just brought my tickets today for october before they go up anymore. Just doing Disney next year.

I asked my Doc last time I was there and he recommended Stugeron (something like that) so I bought some ready and I'm hoping this will help.

You have no idea how relieved I am about that :thumbsup2

Oi, I want sympathy not relief!! ;)

So a lot of people are planning on going to MNSSHP again, I'm a bit undecided as to whether to go, we have such a lot of stuff going on this time.

I think I'm going to take the girls to La Nouba, none of us have ever seen that before, and some of us are going to do Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, and then there's the hen day/night, then the wedding day itself, then the cruise, BWV stay for 2 nights - I'm in planning heaven/hell! :lmao:

Only relieved because I'm sitting next to Nat on the plane and don't want her to get sick ;)

La Nouba is great - if you're after other ideas for a night out, how about Blue Man Group at Universal - it is fantastic :thumbsup2

We will be going twice I think as my DD loved it, espcially being able to stay out till midnight. It was lovely to do the park at nights too when it wasn't so hot.

I have to admit I never really fancied the Blue Man Group, go on, sell them to me!! Actually no don't, I'm spending enough money, and running out of nights as it is!

All I will say is I much preferred BMG to La Nouba ;)

What do they actually do??

It is so hard to explain but they really are very clever. It involves music, rhythm, coloured paint and several other props and it truly has to be seen to be believed.

Don't get me wrong, La Nouba is really very good as well but this was much more my type of thing.

I've just found out that our car hire is going to be with National, booked through Holiday Autos. We have used them in the Uk and they were ok, we didn't get the car we booked on the way home from Gatwick, but as we were delayed by over 9 hours, I supposed that's to be expected, but the car was only just big enough.:confused3

We have booked a 7 seater with full insurance, DH wanted more luggage room this time, after we struggled to get 3 cases in the full size we got last year.

Has anyone used National from Orlando Airport? Are they on site or one of the ones you have to get the shuttle for? I had a look at the Emerald club sign up information, but it only lets you choose USA or Canada for country, any way around this?

Thanks.

Not used National, Sid - sorry! Might be worth posting a separate thread with the question though.

We are able to book our accommodation on Wednesday so I am very excited about that - will be another thing sorted (although we plan to change at 7 months)
