If you don't have a particular place that you want to stay and you're not too fussy then you can get good last minute rates. But if you want specific amenities then you may not get what you want if you wait.
There is no pool bar at Windsor Hills but there is at Emerald Island.
There are some good last minute deals out there but maybe not the exact week you want so if you are flexible an don't want a certain unit you be fine waiting. Sometimes you gotta be very quick on some of the deals tho. Remember you not the only one waiting for a deal.
For me not having a pool bar or a bar would not be a problem as it is much cheaper to buy a bottle of whatever I happen to want that visit an keep it in my unit. DH an I have been known to take our plastic cup an go to pool or take a walk but then we only have a glass or 2 a night when we consume. If someone planning to get plastered they should keep that at the bar or their own room.

Last two trips were ten days each at the Nick Hotel. Kids loved the tropical slushies at the pool bar (although they were expensive). We don't "need" a bar, but it would have been nice if they could have had the fancy drinks again, since it was something special. DH likes an occasional beer, but he doesn't care much either way.
