Oct or Nov?

thinking of our next trip and was wondering about going sometime in October or the second week of November. Any thoughts? Pros and cons of going either one of these times of the year?

If you can, avoid the time around Columbus Day (October) and Jersey Week (November). For 2016, JW is 11/5 - 11/13.
Both Columbus Day weekend / week & Jersey Week are busier in the parks that others and are also among the quickest to sellout for DVC reservations.

October and November are relatively difficult to book at 7 months if you want one of the near park resorts. IMO, the weather is a bit nicer in October, but November isn't bad, either. It may come down to what you can get for accommodations if where you stay is important to you.

With MNSSHP at MK & F&W at EPCOT it is a very busy time for the parks. Be sure to book your HR at 11 months to ensure you have a place to stay.
Recommend you stay out of EPCOT on the weekends, as a lot of locals like to go over the weekends for F&W during this time of year.

We always book October. It is the only time I actually book at the 11 month window. We own at BWV and the rooms go quickly. I booked my standard view room at 8:00am and it was sold out within minutes. October is busy now. With food and wine, conventions, Halloween and other events it's alway busy.

We usually do the 1st week of October, sometimes the 2nd. Was very busy, but not as crowded last year , had hoped since no race.

After reading all the comments re Jersey week over the years, was really hesitant to return in November with family. Pleasantly surprised, not as crowded as what we've experienced in October.

weekends at F&W for both time periods were jammed, as expected.

Of the two time periods, would go with early November. Was surprised to see we could've worked in both parties the first week last year.

book something, now, especially if requiring a studio. Consider myself lucky to have pieced together SSR 3 months out.

seems worse every year! 11 month @ 8 am for me, had two days missing for the 1st week-stand view. Pleasantly surprised when they came thru a couple of weeks later (mid week days, believe they were released by 'walkers' once they got Columbus Day).

I had the same issue. I couldn't get my first day at 8:00am so the next day I booked at 8:00am and waitlisted for the first day and it came through later. Yes, it's getting hard to do now.

We've mostly done second week in November. It is Jersey week, and by Thursday things start filling up. Parks at 7-10 for capacity. If you can do the week after, one week before Thanksgiving, we found that week to be great, crowd wise and weather. We've done October also. Columbus Day can be busy, weather can be beautiful or HUMID.
