I am trying to figure out the best time to go. My choices are going to be the last weeek in October (Haven't been to MNSSHP) or the first week in December(Have been to the Christmas Party). I have also been to Disney the begining of Oct. and the parks have been empty. How are the crowds at the end of October? TIA

I am in a similar situation. I'm trying to decide between 12/7 - 12/11 or sometime in October. My decision will probably be made based on if Pop Warner falls during those days in December. We went in around October 20 in 2003 and it was great. The weather was really nice and the crowds were the smallest of any trip I've taken to WDW. Another plus to October is it stays light longer. I think I've just talked myself into October. :-)

I've been both times and they are both great. I have a special fondness for Disney during the holiday season so I'd opt for December.

Well, October brings not only MNSSHP, but also the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot. Temps are much warmer, but not too warm. And while it won't be packed it can feel a little crowded during that time. Wait times will be longer now than in December.

Early December brings cooler temps, but all the Holiday decorations are up and all of the holiday shows are up and running. You'd also experience much less in the way of crowds at that time. Lots of rides will be walk-ons.

I LOVE going in Oct. We have been twice in Oct. and twice at Christmas. I absolutely love Oct. and dont' ever want to miss going in Oct. The Halloween party is wonderul - better than the Christmas one in my opinion because everything can only be seen at the party. THe Christmas party events can be seen the week before Christmas during regular hours for free. The food and wine festival is cool too. I love the weather and it seems empty in Oct. compared to Dec. I would definitely vote for Oct. and if anyone has questions about the parties, just ask.

a vote for december here we always go early and stay late
next vacation will be 12/7-12/29 06

MNSSHP is fabulous!!!! I agree, much better than MVMCP! In words of CMs, you will see characters that you never see any other time! Snow White's witch handed my DD an apple! Very exciting! Cinderella's coach is set up behind the castle. When we were there, they moved it during the day so it could only be seen during the party. We arrived at the park about an hour prior to the official closing time and were given a wristband. As the regular parkgoers were having to leave as the park closed, we were able to start riding the rides! Walked on to Peter Pan and Dumbo!!!! That's worth the price of admission!!!

The candy was great and so many people in costume!

We enjoyed it so much we went 2 nights!

The Food and Wine Festival is one of our favorite things to do! We literally eat and drink our way around the world! My kids have always loved it even when they were 7 and 4!

I agree, the Christmas decorations are fantastic, but try October!

when i went in late october this year, the crownd wasnt bad at all yet i went in late dec this yr too and they werent to bad but it got crazy for a few day because of new year.i would go in oct. because i woulndt take the change of getting a cold front in dec. cause it can get really cold. And if you go in late oct.you can go to mnsshp:)
