We can't figure out why almost ALL hotels are BOOKED for our early Oct.8 week?! I know its "halloween party" time and F&W Festival AND Columbus week...but MAN!, last year at this time ,it wasn't overly busy!! :confused3

October is still a popular convention month. When we made our "original" plans for October 2005 we got one of the last rooms at the Swan (and that was booked earlier in the year). Also keep in mind the new WDW promotion kicks off during this time as well (there may be some press events, etc), resulting in more "booked" rooms.

Many schools get fall breaks now. I think a lot of people head to WDW.

Anytime you have a three-day weekend like Columbus Day (where kids from all over have days off) then it will be busy at WDW! Crowds usually follow school attendance patterns. And you add in some Fall breaks and days off for Jewish Holidays (depending on when they fall), it can make October quite busy!

We are going to be in the parks on Tues/Wed/Thur of the first week of Oct. Does the middle of the week tend to be a little less crowded then the weekends?

Just wondering what people's experiences have been
:goodvibes
Thanks

2 years ago, WDW was so uncrowded during our Fall break. Last year, it was PACKED!!!
