morning everyone

well is has been hot as h*ll here. We are having record heat. So far three consecutive days in the 100s and tomorrow it's supposed to be 105. I am so tired of it already. I just want to wear my fall clothes.

Starting to get really exicted for my Oasis cruise and then I am going on a 2 day Disney cruise in January. It's going out of LA to nowhere. We just found out that we will at least have the chance to eat at Palo. I am going to try to get Palo on both days. We are all hopeing for a pirate night too but don't think that will happen. It will be a nice DCL fix till the Dream:cloud9:

Hi All,

Happy Monday!

Nice sunny day out... good to see a break from all of that Sunday rain.

Hi Kathy! I don't know most of people's name in this tread so i also have a hard time with names :) And some of the stuff said here are just flying over my head  What is FE?

Thanks for all the patience with this newbie here :goodvibes

Morning all,

all foggy again today but in the 60's all night. Heading for a beautiful sunny day today. Heading for 80's again today.:cool1:

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Tink 11 I have a favor to ask of you.

I hate to admit this because Greg will be relentless on me for it but my brain takes forever to remember peoples names.:confused3 :lmao::lmao:

So the next few times you post would you please sign your name so I can remember it? If i see it a few times it will click with me and stay in my brain, otherwise it's a lost cause for me.:rolleyes1

I cant remember half my neighbors names either, so its not just you.
Thanks I appreciate it, i like to know everyones names.

I am off to pay some bills, thats always fun :guilty:

Kathy

Hi Jollyg - sim, falo portugues! :goodvibes

My mom is from Sao Paulo. Where in the US are you right now? Nice to meet you!:)

Sweet!

Is she in the city? Sao Paulo is an enormous city. When I was there I think the populations was around 10 million.....I'm sure it's more then that now!

I live in Idaho.

PS. FE is short for Fish Extender.

Christine, if DCL is going to drag you out in the middle of no where you'd better tell them they at least owe everyone a pirate night with fireworks! :thumbsup2

Aan,
as Greg said a FE means fish extender but he didnt think you probably dont know what a fish extender is? Typical man!!!:lmao:

A Fish extender is a decorative extension of a note holder outside your cabin door that has pockets in it for people to leave small gifts during the cruise.
The note holder looks like a fish, thus it is a fishe extender and we abbreviate FE.

Anyone who signs up to participate can do this in each cruise thread.
Its alot of fun. Basically soemtime during the cruise you go to each room and leave a gift and they do the same for you. It is really fun to get back to the cabin and see if something is tucked into the FE.

This is NOT meant to cost much, many make homemade items even.
We will have a cruise mates list sent out to everyone later with the names and room numbers of everyone who wants to do this. So no need to worry about it for now. We will ask for people to sign up when the cruise is closer.

Just to give you an idea of the types of gifts, here are some things we have received,
Candy, Disney post cards, disney themed note pads, disney themed pens or pencil (you can have them made up on line) disney themed book marker, disney themed coasters, gum, crazy straws, cookies (prepackaged)homemade cookbooks(small notebook size), Pirate eye patches, pirates chocolate coins, magnets.
You get the idea.

I will post a couple of photos of them soon and on the main forum there is am link to show you how to make them. Even how to make one without sewing.

Kathy

It was a nice day here in Tennessee.....highs in the upper 70's. It is suppose to get down to 49 tonight....I LOVE THIS WEATHER!

Ana go to this link and scroll down until you see Fish Extenders and you will get directions on making them and some examples.

This is an old one but you can see there are 3 white pockets and it hangs from the fish. It was really way to long but it did work.
I have a much better one now.

I will look for a picture of the better one. I know i have it, just cant remember which cruise I used it?

Anybody else have a photo of their FE extender for Ana to see?
Kathy

Kathy, you may have sent this to me already but i can not find it....is there somewhere that gives the pattern, measurements and the how to on making one of the FE. i have a friend that sews and she is going to make mine for me!

Kathy

I was thinking that she may not know what a fish extender was, but with my arthritis I can't type very much and I knew you'd be along shortly to tell her.....and with pictures to boot! Good job! :thumbsup2

My pea sized brain is still in overdrive today! :rotfl2:

So far we have 7 of our family going on the cruise. Myself, Sue-53, MY DH, Ron-63, DD, Shea-Christine-12, DS, Robbie-9, DD, Quinn-8, DS, Lucas(Luke)-6, DD-Marissa-5. This will be the first cruise for Luke and Marissa, and they are so excited! Marissa went to "Mickey's House" in Aug., now she can't wait to go on Mickeys Boat! We have two of our Adult daughters going with their boyfriends, My oldest daughter will be bringing her son, my grandson, Ethan. He will be 23 months old at cruise time. My Dad and stepmother are also going. My Dad will be 79, and loves the cruise! We have more friends and family also cruising, trying to get them on the board, so they know whats going on. Getting excited as we are almost at the one year mark, then it will just fly by! Trying to get prices together on a mini stay at Disney World before the cruise. Hoping the free dining plan will be extended, as it will save me LOTS of money;)

What happened to the voice activated program so you wouldnt have to type now??
We had one once years ago but it was a cheap program and didnt work very well. It came with the computer. It only recognised about half the words we spoke.
I was hoping your arthritis would be better after the surgery.
Sorry to hear it still bothers you.

Sue, I will try to remember your name now, thanks for sharing it for me. But there is NO way I can remember all those family members :lmao: Looks like your having a family reunion Sound slike your going to have an awesome cruise!! Guess you'll be taking up half the dining room;)

The other day I got a notice that the free dining plan was extended through 2011 and the days before our cruise were included. Not sure how many days you need to book to get it, there are always some restrictions. But we are also planning on staying a few days before the cruise and are happy to get it.

We even changed our dates this year for WDW vacation so we could get the free dining plan. Last year we couldnt even eat it all so they let us use the last meals to get snacks. So we got lots of rice krispy Mickeys and added them as extra FE gifts. Plus the other extras they throw in are nice.

I used every perk they gave us accept the Planet Hollywood$15 voucher. We didnt need more food. We couldnt eat what we had.:goodvibes

Good morning all,

Christine, I love seeing photos of the new ship. I cant wait for the garden dining room where it turns to night by dessert and I love mini golf so that will be fun. Greg wants to do the Aqua Duck.

Lots of fog again today but it will burn off and hit 80 again.:goodvibes I need to enjoy this week because next week they say fall will be here, rain, rain and more rain also cold temps.

Christine, I wish I could send you some of our cooler weather and you send us some more 80 degree weather NOT the 100+ weather.

Pretty quiet here right now. The internet server went down yesterday afternoon so we didn thave internet from 2:30 yesterday but it was fixed this morning. YEAH!!!! Sometimes they take days and days to fix things out here.

Greg you better wear some ear plugs today. I wouldnt want that peas size brain to roll out your ear and wind up in split pea soup for dinner.:rotfl2:

I use the voice activated program when I need to type letters or something long and time consuming. For typing on the DIS or FB it's easier and faster to just use my hands.

My arthritis is much better after the surgery, but if I use them to much they swell up and start aching again.

Glad to hear over all it is better.:thumbsup2 You need to be able to hang on to the camel !!! They wobble as you ride them.
