Also at guest services they have a booklet to help people with handicaps and general tips about getting around with a wheel chair or ECV. Its free, just ask for it when you first arrive, read it before going into the parks.

My FIL was in bad shape too but WDW really made it easy for him to have a blast. We felt so great we got him there twice before he got so bad he couldnt go anymore. I'm sure she will enjoy herself too. Just make sure she gets back to rest up part way through the day.

Silly question now... how do they get into rides like Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth... do they stop the whole ride so they can get in?

Yes they do stop them. At HM you will actually board the ride at the exit. They stop it every so many minutes so not to disturb the same riders more than once. I have been on it many times when it stopped. They blame it on a mischievious ghost.

Space ship earth is the same thing. You will get on at the exit area. They wait for a specific car to be empty that way the ride operator will know where you are to let you off the ride too. That ride has stopped 4 or 5 times while I was on it but i never complained because i knew it meant soemone was boarding.

The booklet at guest services will explain how to get on all those rides. Disney has it worked out great!!
I dont know if they stop Peter Pan. I have never seen that? I know Its a small world you go down the exit ramp to get on and can park right next to the ride once they know she cant walk. They even have special boats where an entire wheel chair can ride onto it.

Thank you so much Kathy!!!! Those are great tips! I'm so excited!!!! My mom is coming all the way from Brazil (ya.. long trip) and we decided just to meet her in Miami and bring my mil with us so we could all celebrate the moms in style I'm glad she will be able to enjoy most of the rides...

All the way from Brazil. That is a LONG flight!! I thought we had it bad flying out from the west coast but I think she has us beat.

Your MIL will be able to do 90% of everything.
Just things like Mission Space and Rockin Rollercoaster, Tower of terror may be too hard on her. But theres plenty of other things to do and lots of 3 and 4D shows to see.
The Back lot tour is easy for handicap too. They get the front car with family with the guide. I see that every trip. Like i said they really do try to make it easy for all special needs.

Yes... it's a long long long flight... i;m glad she will have time to rest a little before another 5 plus hour flight back to Seattle.

Everyone accept one in my family that we have taken to WDW LOVES the tower. My MIL and I dont go on it. But even the grandkids love it.

When we first moved to Florida my youngest son who was 17 at the time went on it over and over again, I think it was 30+ times in a row!! The employees sure gave him some strange looks.

I love the Haunted Mansion!! Of course i love all things Disney but that one I always seem to see something new everytime I go through it.

I will do Splash Mountain but thats pushing me to my limits. I always close my eyes until the drop is done.

Dan gets a little sick when he goes to the Tower of Terror and i usually get headaches but it is fun.. very scary! I love rollercoasters but after a while you start to get dizzy and sick. I remember when we went to Disneyland we decided to take one day and go to Magic Mountain... after the 10th ride we had to leave... too much! Same thing with Universal. Although i got to say that the Harry Potter world is AMAZING... i recommend trying if you haven't yet!

I simply ADORE everything Disney too!!! My favorite ride is Big Thunder and Haunted Mansion too!!! I also love Epcot. I know some people think there is not much to do in that park but i disagree.. I LOVE World Showcase and Living with the Land.

We had talked about taking one day and going over to Universal to see the Harry Potter stuff on a weekday hoping the crowds would be down. We are going to play it by ear after we arrive.



I love Epcot, there si plenty to do there especially if you see the performance or movie that each world has to share. The Chinese acrobats are amazing!!
Now they have Captain EO back instead of Honey I shrunk the Audience. I havnt seen it before so will be anxious ot see something new this time, plus I always missed soaring so we will be sure to get to do that too.

Plus I LOVE the British Invasion at United Kingdom. We usually see all 3 performances because they have different songs each set and Off Kilter is good too. Guess I like it all!!!

Greg, we are going to hit 75 today and 85 tomorrow!! WOO HOO!! When I am done with it , if your a good boy, I will send some warmth your way.

Will be gone tomorrow and sunday morning but should check in sunday evening. So it will be up to you guys to keep us off page 2 this weekend. Dont make me bring out the whips!!!


For those new bananaheads I have 3 different whips I can bring out to punish non posters!!! Be afraid, be very afraid , I am really a very mean lady when I have to be, just ask those who know me!!!

Dont ask Greg though. He still blames me for us not getting to go ashore at Grand Caymen, something about a curse????
You have to forgive him, he sometimes exaggerates or makes up things.
