Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

We are going to the MNSSHP the night before the cruise so we are packing Halloween bags since we will be ToT in WDW. Thanks for thinking of everybody.

I just wanted to check that you know they give you bags when you walk in the park . . . I'm thinking they are plastic bags . . .

I'm in need of the names of some of the kids who are 10 and under that will be participating in the Treasure Hunt on Nachi Beach. Right now there are 19 girls and 13 boys who are 10 and under. I know most of the names of the children, but if you see your name listed below, please PM me with the first names of the children in your party and their stateroom numbers. We will be hand delivering a special invitation to the children the night before we dock in Cozumel.

mmouse37 (first names and stateroom numbers for the girls age 5 and 1 and the boys age 10 and 6)

pegthelawyer (first name for the girl, age 7 -- I have two stateroom numbers but can you give me the number of the one where you think she'll be staying)

krisces (the first names and staterooms for girls age 9, 8, 8, 6 and boys age 8 and 5)

fastpaks (the first name of the boy, age 7 and the stateroom number if you know it yet!)

Thanks!

Beth

Beth, you already have my kids down, yes? They are Allison (9) & Michael (4).

Congrats to everyone with their room assignments. So many of us being on one deck is sure going to make delivery of the FE's quicker than I thought it was going to be!

We can deliver them whenever we want? Correct? I'm the type that likes to get mine gone ASAP So don't be surprised to find your FE filled minutes after putting it out (especially if you are on Deck 6!)

I logged into DCL and saw this message:
"Fuel Supplement Onboard Credit: The cost of the fuel supplement charge has been applied as a refundable Onboard Credit to this reservation."

Yay!

WOW!!!! I Have to check to see if I got it too. It will be a nice credit, I think it was $300. Thanks!!!!

I checked mine, I don't see anything there yet, but don't even know if we paid a fuel surcharge. I'll have to contact my TA. :)

I just called, I don't have a credit. I paid a $150 surcharge when booked it was in 08 when the gas went super high. She said if the oil was below $70 a barrel for the quarter which was in August I would've gotten a credit.

Did anyone get a fuel credit?

A thought that occured to me is that the children might enjoy this lasting more than one day. Perhaps if some want to do this early then maybe others could wait a day or two so that they get surprises in their FE for at least the first couple of days.

Just a thought...

Congrats everyone on the room assignments!! :goodvibes

TRICK OR TREAT QUESTION:

I am preparing to make an order of goodies for the ToT. How many kids are bringing their own bags/containers for the Trick or Treat? It has sparked some lively discussion round here and I am curious as they are sold in packs of 50. Of course I could just order 2 packs and have 100 but if a large enough amount of people are bringing their own then I could order 1 pack and spend the rest on candy. (they are not expensive at all, just trying to get an idea)

Thanks! :goodvibes

We will probably will be bringing our own bags too. Thanks for thinking of us though:goodvibes

We just got our room assignment...sadly, we weren't upgraded, and we're in room 2015 which is a category 12. I'm a little worried that it will be noisy since it is right underneath Beat Street. Should I try and upgrade? Is it even possible to upgrade now? This is our first cruise ever and our first anniversary, so I want things to be nice, but we don't have much money.

Just heard back from my TA. When we booked last Nov. 10th, there was NO fuel surcharge. So we didn't pay one. Thats awesome. I remember before our last cruise, when I found out that some others who had booked their cruise, less than 6 months out, paid less than I did at more than a year out. The difference was the fuel surcharge. We paid one when we booked, and the few other families didnt' pay at the time of their booking. At the time of sailing, oil was over $70.00 a barrel, so we never got the refund, yet those who booked at a time when there was no fuel surcharge, never had to pay up. Funny how DCL works. Looks like I got the opposite this time, and in my favour. We didn't book this cruise while onboard though, we booked it a few days after arriving home. I was miffed at first, because we weren't able to take advantage of the onboard booking incentives, but perhaps it works out even anyway, without having to have paid a fuel surcharge. Either way, we are just thrilled to be able to cruise! :)

If you use this link: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomlist.cfm You can type in the stateroom number and read the two reviews for that room. Both reviews give that room a 5 out of 5 rating. So based on the info in those reviews, you have a GREAT room. The only noise heard, according to one report, was on the first day and came from another stateroom in the vicinity. No noise heard from Beat Street. :thumbsup2

An "upgrade" usually means you were moved to a higher category for the same price which more than likely isn't going to happen after you get your room assignment.

If you want to pay for a more preferable room that is always a possiblity (based on availability) all the way up to embarkation day. Even last minute, at the terminal you can ask if there are any rooms available. I would suggest calling DCL directly or having your TA do so if you have one.

We will also be bringing our own trick or treat bags.

Regarding FE distribution, I will likely be distributing them on one of the sea days, definitely not on the first day (I remember feeling very rushed our first day on board on our last cruise, so I don't want to add to that).

I may also do it early in the morning on one of the other days, since I am up before everyone else is. Even on vacation, I find it impossible to sleep much past 7:00 a.m.

Ok, that makes me feel a LOT better!! I knew there was a website like that, but I couldn't find it anywhere; my Google fu failed me. It actually sounds like a good location for two adults since it's near the adults only areas on the ship, so we might just stay there and use our money for other things. Thank you!

TOT bags, Nope, we won't be bringing our own, unless I can find the extras I had from MNSSHP last year. I'll let you know later this afternoon. I have to find the box all that stuff is in, then dig through it, but I have to get into it anyway. :)

We were assigned our stateroom which is 1060. We were a GTY cat 10. I was very worried about being on deck 1 and too busy being worried that it took be a long time to realize that this is a cat 9. I have read the reviews and for our particular room there was one and it was positive. There were several for one next to us that were very negative and than several for the room on the other side of us which were positive. As I am most appreciatative of the upgrade to a room with portholes and do not want to be negative in any way, I am just concerned of the noise on deck 1 as well as oceanquest being above us. Besides the reviews does anyone know about deck one.:confused3

We will be bringing our own bags, but thank you for offering and again thank you for everything....

Nicole
