Ive been checking to add one more night to come in early to our blt stay we have for 10 nights, and come in on oct 3 for one night. Nothing shows up at all. we have a 1 bed lake view, but have even looked up all views and studios as well. even checking all other resorts to maybe do a one night switch, the only thing avail at all is at SSR in a one bedroom, that is about the only one we dont want to stay at for just the one night to switch, but nothing any place, no akv, vwl, bcv, bwv, okw, nothing! seems strange that a thursday would be so crowded and not have anything left at all. i have waitlisted for blt, but who knows if it will come in. i would like to book something in its place, except for SSR, if we can, then we can change our flight times since delta already changed them on us, we should be able to get the complimentary change to an earlier flight since we were arriving fri at 730 am and they moved it to fri at 530 am, thats why we want to come in on thurs now, prob about 9 pm or so to get a good night sleep instead of taking the red eye and then having to wait from 530 am for the parks to open up.

any suggestions?

If you don't want SSR, then waitlist or cash rooms are your options. For only one night I would book SSR and hope the waitlist comes through. What other waitlist do you have besides a 1 bedroom BLT Lake View? That choice has a decent chance of being filled but other good options would be OKW or AKV.

If you're flying into Orlando, there's the Hyatt right there at the airport.

Isn't that Columbus Day weekend and also Food and Wine? I could see it being booked up.

Yes, and it's getting tougher to snag a reservation anywhere during F&W. I'd grab the reservation at SSR to have a place to stay, then get a second WL at either OKW or AKV.

I would take the SSR too! That's what I did...there was nothing else a month ago, for 6-9, so I took the SSR 1 bedroom.

And two months out - not strange at all.

We've stayed at a cheap hotel at the airport when coming in late at night - not the Hyatt - which gets pricey - although we've done that as well.

You could also book a cash room at the Contemporary for the night. Or a lot of people book the values.

That is also the weekend of the ToT race. I would just stay one night at the Hyatt in the airport. We have done that before when we had a late night flight into MCO. It was easy to gather the bags and get into the hotel/room. The next morning we woke up and walked right down to DME. The hotel was great and we were well rested for the next day.

Unfortunately, you only have two options at this point--the SSR 1 bedroom if you want to use points or pay for a night cash.

I too would just grab the SSR room and put in a wait list for something other than just BLT--especially if getting there around 9:00--maybe a studio at SSR or AKV, since those are pretty large resorts.

Columbus Day is the second Monday in October. Since Oct 1st is on a Tuesday this year, Columbus Day falls on its latest possible date -- October 14th.
