Oct. 29th 2006 Halloween anyone?

Gosh how time flies when your busy...er I mean having fun :) We finally got a call on Tuesday------We have an 11 mo. old little boy   (we are foster parents too!) He's a doll, and sleeps all night :cheer2: . I just had my garage sale and it sure was worth the time I put into getting it ready. So Shannon you should have a good sale.(good luck) We had cold and rain, but the true garage salers are out in force. We had a block sale, so we had lots of people. The cruise is getting closer can't wait! I have to be sure not to spill the beans and mention the cruise in front of the kids! Have a great weekend everyone!

that is great TINK!! How is your state about letting them go on vacations with you? How long do you think you will have him!!

We have to get the judges permission along with the bio parents to take them out of state, but they do encourage foster parents to take the kids on vacation with them. I don't know how long he will be here, so we will enjoy him while he's here!

Have to give us a bump, we were on the second page  Everything is settling down after a very busy weekend.I'm really glad the kids went to school today! I really need to tackle the HUGE pile of laundry that is multiplying in my basement

do you guys know if this sailing is a pin trading cruise? i saw on a website that it was with "more information to follow" but i've seen no more info on it and can't find any on the disney cruise website.

thanks!!

kat

It is a pin trading cruise. When we book our TA told us it would be. What is the difference between pin trading and non pin trading? Are you planning on going on the cruise?

Hi Everybody!
DH doesn't have MS. Thank God. Now they're going to test him for something else but not as bad as Ms. So that is good news.
How's everybody doing?

Hi, We just booked the Oct. 29th 2006 Disney Cruise. Never wanted October to come as quick as we do now!! This will be our 1st cruise!! Any advice out there?? We are booked on category 9 or better (have no idea what this means to us). Any insite??

Glad to see more people joining the cruise! Are you planning on flying or driving down? We are flying down the day before the cruise(I'd recommend that) and staying at the residence Inn. Alot of us on this thread are planning on staying there. Alot of good info about the cruise are posted on the DIS boards So you really learn a lot before you even cruise. There is so much to do (or not do), it's up to the person. There are movies, shows, games to keep you busy. The deck chairs on deck 4 are soooo comfy, you gotta try them. I sit out there to watch the sun come up over the water. It's so peaceful. This will be my third cruise, and the rest of the family's second. Any questions that you have, someone here can probably answer them. Can't wait for Oct!!!!

Thanks Tink, We are flying down. Still not sure on when, but also thinking the day b4. My in-laws live in Spring Hill, Fla. So we will be going to visit with them. Tying to figure out b4 or after the cruise. Trying to work it where DH and the kid's dont miss to much work/school. We also want to get a trip into Kennedy Space Center again, now that my lil guy is older, he was only 4 months last time we were there and he is way into space and astronaut's. So our thoughts are fly down the day b4, EARLY, get a rental car, hit the spcae center, crash at the hotel, and get up early to check in early for the cruise! Do the cruise then get back to dry land grab another rental car and drive to Spring Hill to see the in-law's for a few more days!! >>Whew<<

And the ONE thing this mom is looking forward to while on the cruise is a SUNSET!! Ive only enjoy 1 in my life and I want to add to that list while on this cruise!!

yeah!! great to see there are more going! We also have added 7 more to our group that is traveling from NY. I think our total group is up to 25-30 people now. WOW!! I've tried to get them to join the dis, but none of them have yet. I think as the time gets closer...maybe they will!
glad you found our thread labmom97!!

We have 2 Labs right now, Madison who is a Foxy Red, May 23, 2001 and Zander who is our Black Lab, Sept 27, 2004. Beau, our Baby, Black lab, just passed this last Feb. 9th. He had a mast cell that was found to late and it got the best of him, Hardest thing I had to do, especially since he was so young (in my eyes) Dec. 3, 1997 Till Feb 9, 2006. Do you have labs??

We used to have a lab/mix. We had to put him down last year...may 9th, 2005. It was the hardest thing we've ever had to do, but it was time...he had just turned 13 a few days before. We've had a golden retriever for 2 yrs now...he was devastated when we lost our other dog. Both were the most mellow dogs ever...so good with kids! We are thinking of getting another dog soon...just haven't decided when. Looking at either another golden or a lab! I'm torn though...we don't know if we got a lab, if we would get a yellow, or a black. Of course the chocolate ones are cute too! Can you tell i'm so undecided!! :confused3 My inlaws had a black lab, but it got really sick when he was very young, and they had to put him to sleep. My grandparents also had a black one get very sick at a young age. I don't think i could stand it if we got another and it got sick...i know my kids wouldn't be able to stand it...they are still bothered by the fact of losing our old dog and that was a year ago. Ugh...who knows!! that is why we don't have another yet...all the decisions!

oh...our golden's name is PLUTO...can you tell we are disney fans?? :)

I persoanlly have a HUGE HEART to any Black Lab. I just think they are the more family relaxed kinda dog, Yellow'd would be next then the Chocolate. We have quite a few Choc. in our family and all have major medical problems. And they all came from different breeders/shelter.whatnots. We have found our dog's that we have got "Free" seem to be the BEST.. hehe My lab Beau, who just pass'd was given to us by a breeder whom said the mother, a Choc. wouldnt feed Beau anymore since he was the runt. We took him at 3 weeks of age and hand feed him, he turned out to be a 127 lbs Runt! :) Madison, our foxy red is very very timid, relaxed could rough house with her all ya want and she will lay there looking at you like your distrubing the queen. :) And last but not least our newest member Zander..well since he isnt 2 yet, you can imagine the pupphood we are still in.. But he is showing to be as great a dog as Madison and Beau are and were. <Sorry this is long.. just LOVE talking about my Pup's> We to want to get a third, but all we went through with Beau being sick.. I just cant bring myself to the commitment of another one, which will be Black :) So to cap this off, this is all my opinion on the colors and just what we have been though with our own and family members fur babies. im just partial to the black and always will be since my heart was won over by Beau, my Angel Black Lab. :teeth:

hi again jill! i don't mind listening about your pups! i'm the same way! of course any of the ladies on this board could tell you i ramble about most anything!! :rotfl2: isn't that right steph?? :lmao: Well, we looked thru our local paper last nite, and checked out what pups are available...oh no!! if we start looking, chances are there will be a new pup soon. The neighbors across the street just got a 7 week old pup last week...she is so cute!!
oh,...wanted to ask you....what is a foxy red lab? i dont think i've ever heard of that kind before.

Foxy Red Lab is a yellow lab with some red in her/him. They are rare, in fact the breeder we got out Madison from gave us a 'deal' on her cause she was the last "yellow" left. So we paid I want to think about $100.00 for her when they were selling the others for $500.00. She is a beautiful pup green eyes and this awsome amber coat. Ill try to figure out how to post a picture. :)
