Oct 20, 2011 Disney Dream

Here's my take on that room. (Bear in mind I booked a room near to that one for my 4 night Dream cruise) It's the least expensive verandah on the ship AND those rooms have some of the biggest verandah's on the ship. Problem is, that when you step outside the overhang all above will be able to see you. No biggie unless you are somewhat unclothed. The room itself is directly over the balcony of the Walt Disney Theater. If there are any late night movies you may hear some Bass. I picked one closer to the Elevators which is directly over the bathroom for the WDT. The main entrance to the Vibe is on Deck 4 but there are also some entries on Deck 5 forward. This may lead to increased teenage traffic. I decided to take a gamble on this room because of it's large verandah but I guess I'll find out soon enough as to whether it is worth it or not.

Thanks, I don't think I'll be bothered by others above me, and I think the larger verandah will be nice. As for the noise, we are night owls and we aren't really planning on early nights, so I don't think that will be an issue either. I guess we'll find out once there.

Welcome aboard:woohoo: I agree it wont be your last:thumbsup2 I would try to get to the ship early around noon or so, so you can start enjoying yourself and take a tour while others are boarding. If you have a movie camera make sure you have it on while boarding the ship they will announce your name and clap which is pretty cool :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: As for return maybe someone else know's better we have never use that option before good luck and let your countdown begin :yay:

Thanks, we'll get there as early as possible with the ground transfer. I can't wait, I had no idea they announce you while you board.

I'm of the same mind you are. Since the kids are older, we are able to be out and about much later and that large verandah is very attractive to me.

Hi everyone. I just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing. It sure has been quiet on here lately. I hope everyone has a good evening. Stay warm.

Good morning peeps:goodvibes

Its been crazy busy in our house this week, new carpets and chaos! Our master is being done on Friday then phew... I can get my house back to normal!

We've been busy this week doing some planning... we've now got the car hire sorted for after the cruise for a real good price:thumbsup2, also decided on what parks we want to visit this trip and researched various ticket options so slowly but surely I'm ticking things off my very long to do list!.

Researched Nassau and I think we might just grab a taxi to cabbage beach for a couple of hours. $4 each in a cab:thumbsup2

Still have lots to do, but at least I've now started:rolleyes1

Good morning all!!!

Sorry to say good bye, we have to move our date up a week for the Dream. Dd is not off from school the week I had planned, she is off a week earlier. We had not purchased airfare or anything yet so I was able to move to the Oct 13th cruise.

Have a great trip!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Karen. I'm still debating on what to do with Nassau as well. I'm thinking about getting a room at the atlantis to take advantage of the water park but If I do I'll do it on the next cruise not the 3 night one. So I may be staying on board for this one. Who Knows.

I did consider this, but I've heard good and bad about it:confused3 We're getting a 10 day pass for Aquatica etc after the cruise so will hit the water slides then and at Palican plunge on CC. I jsut want some chillin on the beach time to get some rays in Nassau:beach:.... and somerum cake of course:lmao:

I've heard good things about aquatica. That should be fun. Believe it or not, we have only a few water parks in California (just too expensive to run them here) and those that we do have tend to be run down and overly expensive. So, I've really envied the east coast water parks. We did make it to one of Disney's on our first WDW trip. That was a blast. I'd like to do it again someday.

We do a water park most trips over - love Blizzard beach and typhoon lagoon. We havent tried Aquatica yet but heard good things about it now the initial crowds have gone and in Oct it shouldnt be too busy anyway compared to July etc.

Also looking forward to the Harry Potter area in I of A as it was still being built on our last trip.:yay:

I just sent over my information for the FE. Thanks to all of the positive thoughts on this board DD is almost 48 inches tall now. She had her boots on and met the line but I told her she wouldn't be wearing her boots on the Aquaduck. :rotfl: I still need to decide where we are going to stay the night before at WDW. We are hoping we can attend the MNSSHP if they have one on Oct. 19th. If they don't no big deal we will just hang out at hotel and make a trip to DTD. I will be checking in as much as I can. I need to learn more about the ship. We were given late seating but my TA didn't say what time that was. Does anyone know?

This is a fun full year of vacations for my family. We just bought a new Travel Trailer and have 5 camping trips planned.
Easter Weekend we are visiting Mammouth Cave in Ky,
Memorial Weekend - East Harbor State Park in Ohio, It is located between Port Clinton and Marblehead. We only live about 3 hours from here so we visit a lot.
4th of July - We are camping close to Amish Country in Ohio.
July 9-14 - We are camping in Virginia Beach
July 14 - 16 - We are camping at Gettysburg

I am exhuasted just typing them all but we are so excited.

I also have a girls cruise booked for March 31st that I am not even ready for yet. Anyone have any tips for Key West or Cozumel? We are crusing on Carnival for this trip.

I can't wait for Oct. for our very first Disney Criuise. :cool1: Who knows we may end up booking one for 2012 while we are on this one. Only if Disney would release what the Magic and Wonder are doing during the summer of 2012.

Hi, I think late seating is at 8:30pm but the counselors for the kids club come around about 9:15- 9:30 to get the kids and take them back to their clubs,:woohoo: which gives a little time at the end for coffee or a drink.:thumbsup2 We are trying both times on our B2B and see which one we like the best. Where in Amish country are you going? I work for the the State Parks and East Harbor is really nice and convient. Have fun on your girls cruise let us know how it is on a Carnival Ship. Our daughter is at 46" now she wont let me hang her by her feet for the extra 2"

Hi, fellow Ohioan. :goodvibes We are staying a campground called Evergreen RV Resort (I think that is the name) in Dundee Ohio. :confused3 I have never heard of it but we heard great things about the campground and it is close to Berlin and Walnut Creek I believe. My DH and I have done a BB in this area but we have never taken the kids and once they saw that the campground had an indoor pool and aircarde they were sold.

This will actually be my second Carnival cruise. We took the kids on their first cruise last summer on Carnival and now they are hooked. They love it. Only 37 more days until I will be in Maimi, not that I am counting. I just can't wait to get out of this weather and into some sunshine.

I hope everyone has a magical Monday.

I have heard of Dundee I think its about 2 hr south of us. If you had to compare a Disney cruise to a Carnival whats the difference? We have been wanting to try one but have been reluctant to do it.

Well I have never been on a Disney Cruise so I won't be able to compare until we get back. However I would not heistate to go on a Carnvial cruise or Royal Caribean as we have cruised with them as well. The thing I love about cruising is going to different destinations. We actually look at iternary first as well as departure port (the one last summer on Carnival left out of Charleston SC, we have never been so spent a few days there before the cruise and had a great time before we even boarded the ship) and then look at what cruise lines go to those places and then decide which cruise line. The only reason we are going on this cruise it to see the new ship and Disney's private Island. This will be our third time to Nassau and will not get off the ship.

My kids enjoyed the Carnival ship we went on. It was a smaller one (Fantasy) but it had a pool and 3 water slides so my kids were happy. They also liked the kids club and eating in the main dining room. They did not order off the kids menu and enjoyed trying new foods. Their favorite thing to eat was Carnivals melting chocolate cake. My kids beg me to make it at home but I haven't been brave enough to try. The decor on Carnival is not my taste but it didn't bother us. We just laughed at how tacky it was. We loved Carnival's island Half Moon Cay. My kids asked if we could stay there a couple of days. It is beautiful.

Here is my opinion don't go into the vacation trying to compare ships. Enjoy what each ship has to offer and the ports of call and I am sure you will have a good time. We are a laid back family and enjoy all of our trips even when things don't go right. The main reason we booked with Carnival last year besides leaving out of Charleston was to visit Grand Turk, however a tropical storm came and we couldn't dock. The captain did what was safe for us and so instead of sitting on the beach we spent the afternoon playing laser tag, took the kids to tea time (kids just liked eating the desserts), and doing a scavenger hunt around the ship. My kids had a blast and I loved spending time with them. :cloud9:

What part of Ohio do you call home? Thanks for the info on the other cruise they are so much cheaper than disney. I would like to try one maybe a western caribbean cruise.:confused3

We live in the Columbus area. My cruise is March is a Western Carb. We leave out of Miami, then visit Key West, Cozumel, and Day at Sea. The cost was around $300 (including taxes and fees) per person. I didn't think it was too bad for a cruise at the end of March.
