Thanks for the welcome :goodvibes

I have enjoyed cruising solo, although I have never felt too alone...thanks to lots of wonderful dissers I've met along the way! My daughter joined me for one of the cruises I took in Sept:thumbsup2

Yes, that "meeting wonderful dissers" part is definitely something I'm looking forward to, too! :dance3:

To all the new folks on this thread, just a suggestion:

If you do not mind, consider adding your cabin no. and dining rotation info (early or late) to our roll call on page 1! :woohoo:

Yes . . . good idea! :thumbsup2
You can either post here on the thread, or send me a PM and I'll add the information to the roll call.

Thanks Annika :flower3:

We also need to get the Fish Extender Exchange organized. Pinkygirl (Nancy) said she would organize it back when our thread was newer, but I haven't seen her post here in quite some time, so not sure of her status :confused3
Nancy, if you are out there, are you still interested?

Any other sugguestions on things we need to be organizing? We only have 8 1/2 months to plan! :dance3:

i am more than willing to take on this task if no1 else wants to

It would be nice to have a list of everyone involved in FE so we know kids ages and etc.. and how many to buy for. ( this reminds me mom we need to get my FE figured out so I can get it sewn soon)

Also is anyone interested in a Dissers meet-up somewhere?

I got mine from a gradysmommy on eBay she custom makes them and embroiders your names or anythng you'd like on them, when I bought mine for my last cruise in October 08 she charged me $20 I think. And it is of the utmost quality!

Absolutely!
Since DH and I are first-time cruiser newbies, we do not really know when and where would be feasible so we would like to leave that decision to more seasoned cruisers, but we would love to participate in a Disser meeting!

And more generally: Anything I can organize from here (Europe), I'd be glad to assist!

I updated the link on the first page on how to make a FE. I noticed there were a couple broken links . . .I'm trying to fix those. :sad2:

I am not sure I can take on organizing one but... let me think on it.

I have late dining.I have a gty 11 right now, so don't know my cabin # quite yet.

Yes, I'd be interested in a meet :thumbsup2 The cruises I've been on so far had meets in the promenade lounge around 3:00 on boarding day. This worked well, but I'm open to whatever everyone decides.

How do the dissers on your last cruises recognize each other???

on my last cruise in october, we found it quite hectic to meet the first day because of it being some peoples first cruise, they wanted to explore the ship AND everyone trying to make/ change dining and palo etc.... 2nd day was much better! and as far as recognizing, we had custom made lanyards and our green di shirts printed with our logo....i liked the lanyard idea BUT disney provides some for CC memebers and you can also buy some, how about buttons? much less intrusive and easily removed and so on..i can look into prices on each if need be. AND we made a photo album on our first page.

I think Buttons is a great idea because of all the reasons you stated and so that they are not too expensive either. Now just to get a design or whatever!

Buttons sound great, I'm all for it!

Regarding the DIS meeting time: I will go along with anything because I'm really looking forward to meeting you guys :), but I also think that it might be a tiny bit difficult for us on the first day.
DH and I don't know our way around the ship, we want to get oriented first and isn't there the security drill also, so I'm a bit afraid that we might not make it.
If most of you prefer first day, we shall of course do our best to make it! But yes, another day might be better for us newbies :sad2:

One thing to remember, if we don't meet on Saturday, we would need to meet early on Sunday morning since we dock at Key West around 12:30.

Another way to recognize everyone is to wear Mardi Gras beads. We used them on our last cruise.

your screen name looks SOOO familiar...were supposed to be on the magic in oct 08?

typically you will not find out your rotation until boarding/ check-in day. but as far as main or late yes that is normally done at time of booking...

BTW im in 7001 as for now

ASLO is anyone able to get a chat room set up for us? my last cruise we had a chat night every week, twice a week and it was a GREAT way to get to know each other and ask question and make decisions.

Here is a suggestion for making custom buttons. Once a logo is created, it can be used as the button design. There are no minimum orders . . .everyone can be responsible for purchasing their own if they want.

Next qustion . . . is there someone out there that wants to create our official logo? The ones I have posted on the first thread are just what I came up with real quick when the thread first started. Someone with some talent and a good program could do a really nice looking logo . . .Anyone up for the challenge?

Oh, and dizzyprincess . . .we have late dining! :thumbsup2

No, that can't be since in 08 we were busy planning our first ever WDW vacation and hadn't yet considered (or even really heard of) DCL :sad2:

Maybe I have a doppelganger here somewhere? :)
(Just using this word since I have only learnt the other day that it is supposedly used in English, is that true? It's always so funny to find a German word in the English language, we have loads and loads of English in our language but it's quite rare to see the other way round)
