Here we are . . .another week gone by  Hope everyone had a good one :thumbsup2
Well, while I was marking up my 2010 calendar, I discovered that I did make a mistake on my countdown :headache: :rolleyes1 :dance3:

Sheesh  Forgive me? :cutie:

That's what I get for trying to count it out so far in advance since I started this at week 100! So with a little readjustment of the countdown . . .we are still at . . .

Have a great weekend everyone :grouphug:

Wow, time sure does seem to be passing slowly these days, doesn't it :lmao:

No seriously, don't worry, I was so lazy I never even went to the trouble to check for myself how many weeks are left, so even if you happen to be a week off it is still great to read your countdown! :yay:

Hi everybody,

so I hear you have got snow and blizzards in some parts of the States already? Hiere in Northern Germany, the weather is drab and dark and rainy but still always above freezing point. They say that will change in the next few days, so we will see.
It's my birthday today so for me that's always the signal that Christmas and the end of the year are really close now, and as soon as I woke up this morning I was completely in the festive spirit :santa:. So I want snow now! :woohoo:

Have a great weekend everybody, no blizzards but nice winterly weather,

Annika

Happy Birthday!!!

It's my birthday tomorrow!

We live in Central NY but have been lucky because we only have about 2 inches of snow but all around us there is up to 2 feet and another 2 feet is expected by tomorrow morning. But the season is early...we average about 9 feet of snow a season with the record of 16 feet in 1992...that was an interesting year...we didn't know where to put it all. I remember throwing shovel fulls of snow on top of snowbanks that were at least a couple of feet taller than me. :lmao:

we had the worst storms in 38 years here in Des Moines, Iowa.
Snow drifts were up to about 18". Schools closed for three days this last week. Streets in some areas are still difficult to navigate. Interstates and highways are much easier.
I have to make up a class day tomorrow, since the hours in class are strictly enforced by the state (it's a certification program). Loooong day tomorrow. Boo.

We saw all that on the news - looked awful! We had the same storm but by the time it got here wasn't nearly as bad.

Ugh! SO sorry! Our snow is just starting to get bad. Hope you et around safely!

heavy rain here in Philly. We are lucky it is too warm to snow, otherwise this would have been bad. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Back to work tomorrow for me :sad1:, I have been off since thanksgiving.

We're expecting rain later. Right now my son and grandson are at the Patriots game in Mass. and it's raining there........ Nice job that you have so much time off! Of course since I'm retired I can have as much or as little time off as I want!!!

I hope the weather is getting better at your hometown! It's so cool for me by the way, I have just read a book that is set in Des Moines, Iowa, a city I had never heard of before, and as soon as I finish the book I read your post and now I actually "know" a person from Des Moines, Iowa

Hi everybody,

another "milestone" reached: We have now added the gratuities to our cruise account, and I have just prepaid them . I had asked on the main board about how to prepay gratuities and I was told to simply ring DCL.

However, I don't really like to phone the US as it is quite expensive - and I am also always quite apprehensive that I won't understand the person on the other end of the line
That happened to me quite a bit when I made my many ADR's for our WDW honeymoon, there were over 30 of them to be made and there was no way I'd hold out for that long in a single phone call speaking English, so I split that into like 7 or 8 different calls (which of course made it all EVEN MORE expensive ).
But that way, whenever the person on the other end was speaking too fast and/or had an accent I couldn't understand, I just made one measly ADR, thanked them and hung up, just to call again and hope that I would have a different person on the line :sad2:

Anyway, so much for silly me and my fear of talking on the phone in English. To avoid repeating that drama, I simply sent a message to DCL via the online contact sheet and explained my wish, and a very friendly lady had the gratuities added to my online booking so I could simply look onto my account and pay from there. Very easy and very customer-friendly!

So, the next thing I am eagerly awaiting is for the confirmation letter of our post-cruise WDW stay to arrive (renting points from a DVC member) ... I can't wait for the letter to get here!

Have a nice evening everybody,

Annika
