Hi all.

I think we are going to be joining you all on this cruise. We are still waiting to confirm my daughter's schedule...but I am pretty confident that we have found our cruise dates.

Who are we?
I'm Shauna- (35 when we sail)
DH Daniel- (36)
DD Taylor- (14/turns 15 on this trip)
DS Jackson- (6)
DS William- (6)

I asked DH about planning a 4 day trip, but we decided to really live it up and make it a 7 day. I am a little nervous but super excited!! All of us are first time cruisers.

I have read *almost* all 108 pages of this thread (okay not quite) and look forward to getting to know you all. :)

:welcome:
We are so glad you will be joining us!!!
No need to be nervous....you will love, love , love it!!!!!! And you will be hooked, of course! LOL
Looking forward to getting to know you!! We have lots of fun stuff in the planning stage for our cruise!!!

You will have a great time!!! OUR FIRST cruise was a 7 night and we were hooked!

Just a friendly warning if you are not used to sailing.......Me and DD got VERY sick our first night My son and DH nauseas. Make sure to take some meds BEFORE getting ont he boat.........THat was probablly the most important tip i didnt use and wish i had!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE COUNTDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the watery look of it!

Woohoo! Thanks for the wonderful welcome!! We are so excited and I am already driving my DH nuts with the Disney talk! lol Bless him...he's a great dad and hubby...but the poor guy just doesn't *get* Disney like the rest of the family! :rotfl:

Have any of you cruised in October? What should I know?

I am hoping to get a couple of our friends on this cruise but they are a "house divided" on the issue of booking so far in advance. I am thinking that this cruise shouldn't book up too quickly with the kids being and school (and the economy), right? Of course I know that they get a much better deal by booking in advance...but my friend's hubby is super cautious with money (Did I say that nicely enough?).

Thanks for the tip on the sea sickness meds...I will remember that for sure! And, dizzy, my daughter is thrilled to already "know" someone else her own age on the ship! :)

Welcome Aboard!!!!!!!

We sailed in October our first cruise actually.

We went on the Halloween Cruise.

The weather is Very nice. BUT the drawback was of course the possibility of Hurricanes............which we did encounter, But the Captain did a wonderful job geting us away from the storm although we did miss Castaway Cay.

The waves were enormous....But after the first night and taking my meds i didnt get sick again.

There is always great stuff to do inside the ship if the weather gets bad.

But we have been on 2 cruises now and have not done castaway cay yet.

Our 2nd cruise we left out of California so no CC over there.

When is your DD bday my DD bday is OCt 23 the day we leave the ship.

Have a great evening!!!!!!

dizzi, my daughter's birthday is actually right after the cruise. She turns 15 on October 28. :) (That is hard for me to even think about...where does the time go??)

I had hoped that by the middle of October, we'd have less chance of hurricanes. :confused3 Oh well...no matter what the weather....I am so excited to share another aspect of Disney with my family. :)

YES i know the time does fly I have a son that turns 16 this week.

My DH Bday is the first day of the cruise and My DD bday is the last day of the cruise.

I guess you never know about the hurricanes but like you said......Disney in a hurricane is better than no Disney at all!!!!

Just a forwarning about the STACK which is the teens club.....YOU MAY NOT SEE YOU DD MUCH!!!!!

I didnt see my DS much at on our 2 cruises.

THe first time i was a bit upset about it the second time i realized what was going to happen.
The second time being smarted than the first, I set times and places when BOTH KIDS MUST MUST MUST meet up with us.

2 times being the formal and semi formal night picture taking....I didnt even make themeat with us as i knew they really didnt want to they just HAD to get family pictures done!
OF COURSE THE EXCURSIONS which they loved.
AND on sea days they ahd to do ONE family thing with us.

Other than that it really was an adult vacation!!!!!!!!!

IT rtuly is for us the best of both worlds:love:

SHAUNA

Are your boys twins or just born close togther??

Will you begetiing a suite to fit all of you or 2 staterooms???

We are doing 2 this time.........
a balcony and an inside................WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I really hope my DD will enjoy some time with kids her age. But I will also enjoy whatever time we have as a family. Either way, everyone will be happy. Good tip about having set meet up times!! I will add that to my list of things NOT to forget.

My DSs are twins. (Disney 2003 Souviners)

I am just getting a quote on 2 connecting inside rooms...with a teenager, we need 2 showers so the family stateroom will be a bit cramped. The balcony scares me with my younger two kiddos. Of course, I'd like a view, but I am not sure what I want to pay for one. (If there isn't much of a difference, I can be easily swayed...lol)

Well a view is wonderful but it could be a bit more. But you never know what you might come across......We are DVC owners and we used 1/2 points 1/2 cash to get 2 rooms............WE are sooo happy to have the 2 rooms this time!!!!!!!

WOW i bwet your DD is excited about it to as she will have a room basically all to herself!!!!!!!

BUT maybe even a Just a Porthole view this way you can see out and not worry about the kids..........I would be worried to no matter what others say..SHoot i was worried abotu my older kids the first time around!

Hello everyone!!!!!!!
did you know we have 600 days before we sail??????? ugh I need to occupy myself a bit more to pass the time!!

Shauna, we have sailed just this past October and it was fabulous!! the weather was perfect, except we had to detour a bit and never made it to St. Thomas because of hurricane Omar. Instead we ended up in Nassau, which was nice too. We even made it to castaway cay, this place is paradise and I can't wait to go back!! :goodvibes

Yeah...my DD is going to be spoiled rotten with a room basically to herself! lol Of course, if we go with connecting rooms....the kids will all be in one room and Dh and I will have more privacy. Um. Yeah. I think we will try to get connecting rooms *wink*.

How old are your twins?? I bet you can get a connecting room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your twins will be 7 when you sail........

I was thinking they would beyounger but YEAH they could go in a room with the oder girl and you guys can have some privacy.........

Nice we are looking forward to that too!!!!!

Oh my 600 days........WOW that a long time.

We have @240 until our family vacation in Disney and that seems tooo long...

HELP! My children are going to be just. like. me. Yep! They don't stand a chance in heck at being normal...just now, my 5 year olds were dragging their large stuffed lions around on the hardwoods and on the lions' backs were other beanie baby type animals. I asked if they were mopping my floor for me and they said "Noooo mommy! We are playing Disney Cruise Ship." :lmao:

Oh my goodness. What have I done? ;)
