Thought I'd drop by and say hi to everyone. Looks like we may have our 30 for the FE. I'm all for smaller groups also but have a few questions. If we cut off at 30 and split that it would be 14/15...since we don't count ourselves...correct. Out of curiosity anyone who wants to join an FE after that would have to start their own and handle it however they want? Being a little more than 6 months out I can imagine one list getting extremely long and I like the idea of a smaller group so I can do more and make the FE gifts a bit more personalized.
I also want ot thank trinibjill for your great updates and links on the Fantasy. I loved going through the navigators the other night...makes planning more exciting, if that were possible.By the way your spread sheet is great, just wondering how we divide it now. Sorry for all the questions but this will help for future reference as DH wants to book a B2B for next year.Linda

"ColoradoDisneyFreaks" has also expressed great interest in the FE. Perhaps you and they could come up with a good breakdown. I am not sure if it is Scott or Jen that is doing the posting. It would seem they also have done a spread sheet. Just a thought

i have 30 FE gifts, one big gift for each cabin and something for each of the kids. However, if we decide to make the groups even smaller, I can still return some of my things before I start personalizing them. Guess we just need to make a decision and go with it. I still vote for a group of 30, which would mean that anyone else who comes on board in the next 6 months or so starts their own FE group. This is my first Disney cruise and my first FE, so perhaps I shouldn't have an opinion . Those of you more experienced with all this probably have better ideas.

Hey Linda, I figured I'd throw the idea out there, 30 on the list, we've have 2 groups of 15, and you'd be in one of them. Then, I guess if we get more cruisers we can just add another group until we hit 15 again? Not sure, as my other groups have just sort of ended up around 15. I loved having that number of cabins, so thought I'd ask about splitting it up.

It's Jen, Scott started the DIS id, but I'd sort of stolen it from him (which he lets me know all of the time! ), and yes, I have a spreadsheet of the FE group, I'll add in the rest of the cruisers this weekend and post it, or if everyone wants to just PM me an e-mail I can send it out to you all, that way Jill doesn't need to maintain 2 lists, especially since she's being so nice to do it at all!

You're totally welcome to have an opinion, and since you're in the group, it's just as good as mine! The only problem I have, with your work on the FE, is that you are waaaayyyy too organized! I haven't even started my gifts yet, and probably won't for a couple more months, I'd love to be that organized!

I still love the idea of smaller groups. I had 35 cabins last year and it took some time. The Dream and Fantasy is so much larger than the Wonder was. Someone in our group suggested splitting the list and I wish I had been more assertive. I've heard some folks say how they had over 100 cabins.

i am way too organized - it's a curse But honestly, I'm so excited about this cruise that working on the FE gifts makes me feel like the cruise is closer than it really is! I vote let's just split the grou since that seems to make sense. If someone could send me my list of cabins and mix of cabin mates, I would appreciate it. Onward - back to craft time!

I can't belive that we are six months out today.I've also been working on my FE gifts and it does make things seem like it's almost here. So how would we split the list? Just divide it in the middle? It would be easier floor wise but what about the ones with no cabin number? How does that come into play since it is usually so last minute?

I think if we decide to split the list, maybe we should just split randomly, or by fore and aft rather than floor? Then distribute those of us who are GTY and take our chances. Anyone else on the exchange have an opinion?

I have an opinion! I haven't been getting any emails that there were new posts so I thought not much was going on. Oops! I should've known better.

I am completely ok with splitting up the list but I think 6mos. out is a little too soon to be cutting it off. The Fantasy is a big ship and I would hate to keep someone from participating that wants to because they booked late or didn't find us right away. The FE is a highlight of the cruise for my family! We have also had a lot of families join the thread lately which makes me think that more families might be joining us.

Why don't we set a date to cutoff the FE list maybe 8 weeks before the cruise date or whatever people are comfortable with. Then we can divide the list into two or three or more groups depending on how many cabins we end up with. I don't think that there is a hurry to do it now is there?

Let me know if I am the only one who feels this way and I will keep my mouth shut.

Jill, thanks so much for posting the navigators! I was able to print them while the Dis was down yesterday I had been waiting for something from the Fantasy to become available so it would be as close to our itinerary as possible. Now I can really start to plan!

I have to ask you, did you change cruises again or was your pachyderm cruise renamed? Thanks for the support

I'm good with that too. I figured you guys had a reason for wanting the cutoff now, but you're right, usually in the FEs I've done in the past, our cutoff was about 6 - 8 weeks before the cruise. I'm not currently doing any customization of names on gifts, but we might want to think about breaking up the list in a couple of months, just so that we know how many girls, boys, big kids vs. little kids etc. we have.

My daughter asked me to join them on their cruise. So, to be a good mom, I changed my cruise again.

Also are we still ok to join the fish extender? I dont want to sound dumb but just need to clarify (never done one before) Say for example its a stateroom with mum,dad and 2 kiddies-is it one gift per stateroom or do we do four-ie 2 x adult , 2 x children?

Whichever you prefer. We're doing something for the stateroom, and then something for the kiddos.

I bought ours on ebay, from gradysmommy, it was great, but you can make them as well, there's no-sew directions up in the FAQ thread, or you can search once it comes back up for one made of duct tape that turned out really awesome! Also, if it were up to me, I'd make one with 2 pockets, but you can do 1, or 8 if that's what you want!
