Oct 1 - Restaurants Shut Down Early?

Hey all,
I posted a question on this a little ways back. Wanted to refresh it.

On October 1, all the Disneyland Park restaurants that accept reservations do not accept reservations after 4:50, just as if they were having MHP that night. Now, this is not a MHP night. I spoke with Disney Dining and they have no idea.

Has anyone talked to anyone that has a reason for this? The rest of the non-MHP nights that week are normal (last reservations all the way to 7:50). I'd be really bummed if Disneyland were to be shutting down early two nights in a row - one for MHP and one for some unknown reason.

I am also interested in the answer to this question. We are there and are wanting to do some late night rides - Jungle Cruise, Matterhorn for example that we won't be doing at MHP the night before.

TOT and RSR are fun at night also - just want to have an idea because I was wanting to eat at Carnation Cafe' that evening.

It's possible Dineyland could be closing early for a special event. it seems that near the end of the year the park closes early a few times for private functions.

It's as logical an explanation as any. From our local SoCal experts, have they shut down for private events in the middle of MHP, when they have so many dates they shut down for anyways, in the past?

It will be interesting to see what the schedule looks like. Already there have been reports that DL will close early on 9/18 (listed as 5:00 pm on the Disneyland.com calendar) and that DCA will close early on 9/25. So if DL also closes early on 10/1, that would make three weeks in a row when one of the parks is closing earlier than normally.

I merged your 2 threads together, whjensen. If you need to refresh a subject just post in -- or bump -- your original thread rather than starting a second one about the same thing.:goodvibes

Thx Sherry,

I started a new thread rather than bumping due to experience. I've found that if, after a given time, there's no response that you've probably screwed up the subject line and should start over. Learned painfully too many times from work. :)

Is there a was to put in a feature request - it'd be great to be able to a) kill an empty thread or b) rename the thread for better response or accuracy.

If you want to delete or close a thread, all you have to do is ask us to delete or close the thread via private message.

You can rename your threads/revise the titles (though I don't know if it would work now that I merged the 2 threads together). The feature is already there. You have to go into your Edit/Go Advanced option and that will allow you to change a title.
