Hi all. We are sailing on the Dream in November with my little brother for his 10th birthday. This will be our first cruise with a little one in tow. I have a few questions and I'd love any tips you may have to share!

How do I register him for the kids club? Can I register him onboard? During checkin?

He has a mild peanut allergy (so far, he only gets a rash). Do they feed the kids peanut items? (I know I could tell them that he has an allergy, but I don't want them to quarantine him since he can be around peanuts as long as he's not ingesting them).

Any other tips? Thanks!

You can register him during online check-in, but you will still need to drop by the desk in the port terminal or the kids clubs once onboard to get the wristband he will need to check in and out of the clubs.

Be sure to note the allergy. I am pretty sure they stay away from serving any peanut products in the clubs.

I agree with the above.

I don't think they have any peanut products, not even when they do the "anyone can cook" events. Be crystal clear, however, with the allergy info. Just in case we are wrong and they have something like that, and keep your Wave phone on and pay attention to it. DS has a sensitivity to something, not an allergy, and I mentioned it but they just jotted it down rather than writing it all out and they were overly careful about it.

They even called us when they were serving lunch and he told them he was vegetarian and they wanted to make sure for some reason. (Yes we are. It was such a weird question since they have cheese sandwiches)

My point is to be specific and make sure they have it ALL in the computer.

They may have been checking that he was vegetarian and not vegan and so could have the cheese sandwich?

They said "he says he is vegetarian, IS he?" It was like they thought he was just saying that? It was so weird.

He actually didn't even want the sandwich (we always feed him before he goes to the club), but they make the kids go through the food area before they can go play, so I guess it came up in that way.

And with the sensitivity I have had them put in there that he CAN participate. In the "anyone can cook" activity, I found out that the cookies they make with the simple ingredients are NOT the cookies they get at the end. So I had them check the ingredients and they were fine for DS (a corn syrup thing, not a deathly allergy, just something that wil make the next hour or so extremely unpleasant for him and those around him). He doesn't totally trust it so he always gives his cookie to another child (he knows that gets him brownie points with me LOL).

But for the OP, just be really really clear with them and make sure they write it down correctly.

Hi!! You can register your brother online. At the port or once you get on the ship, you and your brother will need to pick up his wristband. Make sue to mention the allergy

I believe when we checked our grandson in and got his band at the club, they asked us if my grandson had any allergies to any foods. I am about 99% positive they asked us this.

Hi! I am a YA CM. You can check in online, at the port or on the ship. If you check in online you will still need to come and see us when you embark to get his Mickey band. We do not serve and foods containing nuts in the clubs but be sure to mention it to the CM checking you in and we will put a note in our system. You may get calls on occasion to double check if certain foods are ok. We just want to be extra sure!! Enjoy your cruise! °o°

Thanks again for everyone's input.

I have read on these boards several times that the first day/night is vey important because that's when friendships are formed. When is there time for this? With the sail away show, muster, 6-ish show and late dining, when would he go to the kids club? After dinner? Is it open this late?

Thanks in advance!
